I was amazed by this hotel. My expectations were a bit low, because New York is known for pricey and tiny hotel rooms. But SpringHill Suites really surprised me. Hotel room even with the bathroom was quite spacious (even for my 6'9" huge husband) and we got a beautiful view of Empire State Building. Check-in process was quick. They even provided us a transfer back to the airport (compared to the cab it was a real bargain). Breakfast was good, sufficient, very crowded, but they would give you a table within a few minutes in the line. There was plant-based milk, gluten-free options, but hardly any vegetables (but that's just America, I guess..). Hotel itself is just a few steps away from a subway. Just round the corner there is a grocery store and a liquor store. And the best thing – it is located in a flower district. So there are tons of flower shops and flowers in the streets. I couldn't get enough of it. It was a great stay. I am definitely going to repeat it. Highly recommend it. Good value for your money.
Tiny tables and not enough space in the breakfast area. So if you don't plan to have a long breakfast with never-ending chit-chat, you'll be fine. Just grab something to eat, eat it and leave.

Definitely location was excellent. We're visiting from Australia so we wanted a place closeby to the attractions but not smack bang in the middle of Times Square or it would be too busy! Great spot for public transportation too. Staff: friendly, helpful. Got us what we needed. Cleanliness: everything was clean, and they changed our towels/linen daily which was appreciated. Bed was very comfy. THERE WAS A MICROWAVE!
The rooms were far too small, and the hallways way too narrow for what the pictures imagined. I understand its NYC but definitely take that into consideration. Coming from the other side of the world, we were travelling with a lot of luggage so trying to fit everything in was difficult. Wish there was more hanging space especially for coats/jackets since we came in winter. Also note: entrance was a little odd, but I think it was due to renovations happening.

The location and room itself. Quite new, clean, and well-maintained. The view was very good.
The breakfast. Very poor variety and no vegetables. You can choose from boiled eggs and scrambled eggs with strange sausages. Also, there are some Kellogs with milk, muffins, bananas, apples, and clementines. The same every day.

Very well-located hotel. Staff is very helpful - we got a room on the top floor as my mom had her 70th birthday. Even gave me and my brother another room with two beds. Views are spectacular - and the location is superb with the metro on 28th street around corner. Rooms are not big but clean, modern and what you need. Breakfast is sold but could use a bit more variety. There is a small gym which could have a little bit more variety.
Downstairs area feels always a bit cramped and hectic. Breakfast is ok but very busy always - could use a little more variety and seems to be the same for the last 15 years. Sustainability - on the other hand, is a disaster. It does not ruin your experience - but it is not in line with Marriot's slef proclaimed standards. Entire breakfast is a ocean of one-way plastic - including apples being wrapped in plastic. Forks etc all plastic. Same goes for towels in room. This is an easy fix guys Finally - it seems impossible to get in contact with the hotel via phone. line is always busy and communication via booking.com did not really work either

The hotel is perfectly located, 2 mins by foot from the 1 train that takes you everywhere. Room clean and good size for 1 or 2 people (by NYC standards, that is). The bathroom is a bit small, but well arranged, not suitable for two people who are not intimate, tbh, due to the door being sliding. I'm glad my friend and I didn't share a room. Breakfast was good, and the wait was not that bad as mentioned in other comments. We tried from 7 am until 8:15 am, and never waited for more than a couple of minutes. There's people at breakfast, but it is expected in a hotel like this. Special mention to the personnel in the breakfast room. They work A LOT, to make sure everything is ok and you can find always everything you need. Really bravo to them. About the elevators, we didn't have to wait more than maximum... 5 mins? Maybe even less and it was only once or twice that we had to wait "that" long. We were in floor 36. Views were amazing, I could see the ESB from my room. All in all, a very good stay, better than what we expected by reading some comments.
The billing/charging was a bit less clear than expected, but nothing serious and it was all arranged after we left.

I really loved the position, it's perfect: 20-minute walking or Metro distance from basically anywhere. The view from the window is amazing, totally worth it. And also the price it's affordable, for NYC standards. We got fresh sheets and clean bathroom everyday. There is free tea and coffee 24/7.
The room was small, but comfortable. The breakfast hall is hectic, but they let you bring the food to your room (and skip the line). I really liked everything else.

The location is great - you are in mid-town Manhattan, within a 20 min walk from the Times Square and Broadway, so you can explore a lot on foot. We had a room on the 31st floor and the view was just breathtaking! The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast had a variety of options. Recommended!
It would have been nice to have more space in the room for hanging and storing clothes - there were only a few hangers and no shelves at all, so we essentially had to keep our stuff in the suitcases during the entire time. In addition, the waiting time for the elevators was sometimes quite long, especially at breakfast time.

Honestly we were pleasantly surprised and think that this hotel deserves better ratings. Here is why: ✅ great location ✅ great staff ✅ breakfast included in price ✅ right next to metro ✅ good views from the room
Room size is decent for NYC standards and has practical layout.

the breakfast was good. they offered a very wide variety. the only problem was that we NEVER got any coffee because they ran out of coffee in the lobby and coffee in the breakfast room every morning, and multiple times. The location was good for everything we wanted to do.
the price was NOT what I was quoted on booking.com. The room rate on booking was $428 plus tax per night. When we checked out, our first two mights were charged at $639. My total bill for three nights (including taxes) was $1,968. That was way above what I was quoted on booking.com. When I questioned the rate at check out, they told me I would need to take that up with booking.com.

The hotel in general was fine and the staff were friendly and helpful. When we had small issues the staff reacted rapidly.
Breakfast quality. We had to change room after the first night because the room type we reserved were ot availeble with a comment "you should be happy that we have a room for you".
