The house had character and interest. The breakfast offered a variety of items such as yogurt, fresh fruit, dried fruit, cereal, bread, cheese, croissants and sometimes a little "surprise" baked item. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The location was perfect for us because we were able to walk from the train station to the guesthouse. The house offered amazing views of the cathedral and was only a few minutes walk from restaurants, shops and the Bayeux tapestry.

Check-in did not start until 5pm nor was it possible to drop off luggage beforehand, so we had to take it with us as we waited out the afternoon. Travellers may want to keep this in mind when planning arrival time.

We had an excellent stay at Le Castel. I was so excited to stay there after reading about it online, and our stay greatly exceeded our already high expectations. The accommodations were lovely, but the breakfast was the best part. Our only regret was only having one morning in Bayeux for breakfast before touring the D Day beaches. The proprietors were so gracious and hospitable, and the breakfast was truly a highlight aside from the excellent Cathedral view from our room. Be sure to plan ahead and book very early, as I am sure this hotel is very popular.

Excellent location short walk from all attractions and restaurants. The welcome from staff was excellent and the breakfast very good . Everyone sits at the same large table for breakfast which creates a great atmosphere and makes it easy to start conversations with fellow guests. The manageress was very friendly and let me speak French with her, which I like to do but was also happy to converse in English. I would stay here again.

Don't park in the expensive car park behind the hotel, plenty of free parking on street opposite and small free car park in same street.

We liked everything! This guesthouse (townhouse) is an incredibly nice place, fully renovated with amazing accommodations. A small kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms with their own full baths (amazing showers) can fit your whole family. You are right next to the Bayeux Cathedral and just a couple of blocks from the main street with ample cafe's and shopping. The host's were very nice and accommodating for our arrival and departure, we were driving and couldn't give them an exact time so they left the key in a lock box for us. They serve a breakfast every morning with a typical amazing croissant, local cheeses, yogurt, granola, bread, etc. I wish we had more time in this town and house to explore the local area, next time!

We thorougly enjoyed our stay! Severine and her mother Francoise were wonderful hosts. The house was lovely both inside and out. Our room had a small balcony which had a great view of the Notre Dame Cathedral Bayeau. We had a small sitting area with a coffee/tea pot. The room it's self was quite large. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also large with a good shower. We were one floor up from the main entrance. There is no elevator. The house is decorated very nicely. The breakfast area was roomy with one large table that seats 6-8 people. There was a small room for additional guests. Breakfast was very good with fresh pastries, fruit and cheeses. There was room on the property for parking for 3 cars. The location of the house was great. We walked around town and to restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived on bicycles in a thunderstorm, late and drenched. Unfortunately because of the weather conditions and our gps not picking up the address of Le Castel it had taken us over an hour in the pouring rain to locate the accommodation. However our host was very kind and welcoming. It took some effort to drag our bicycles up some steps to a terrace at the back of the accommodation where they could be stored safely but we were soon under a lovely hot shower, changed into dry clothes, the sun came out and we were able to find a nice little restaurant a few minutes walking distance of the B&B. Breakfast was good and it is just a walk through the carpark to the museum. We were able to store our bicycles and luggage while we visited the Bayeux Tapestry the next day. A big plus not having to leave our bicycles in a public place while we were at the museum. Thank yo.

Spacious room with adjoining balcony to sit on and look at the cathedral. Comfortable beds and a good shower. Nice old building with pre war features still intact including a beautiful stained glass window. The hostess was very friendly and helpful.

There was a strange musty smell in the room that wasn’t too pleasant. The older lady burst into the room twice during cleaning in the mornings and then apologised when she saw we were in the room (once was forgivable but not sure why she repeated it the following day). Otherwise it was a good stay.

We loved our stay at Le Castel! The location couldn’t have been more perfect being steps away from attractions (cathedral and tapestry museum) and shops and restaurants. Bayeux is so nice to explore on foot. We stayed in the guesthouse and it was perfect for our family of 5 (3 large bedrooms with 3 large bathrooms). The apartment was clean and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The host was very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this place if you are staying in Bayeux!

The check in time is restricted (5:00 - 8:00 pm). This didn’t impact us since we explored Saint Michel on the first day. We were a little worried about getting there by 8:00 but everything worked out and we had independent check in for the Guesthouse.

The home was lovely, simply decorated rooms, breakfast was not what we expected based on photos posted on the Internet and from previous reviews. Check in time was quite limited as the inn was closed up until 5:00 pm, so we needed to travel through town with all of our luggage since we arrived by train and had to adhere to schedules. But the hosts were extremely welcoming, and helpful and the location was very close to the train station as well as the city center!

Not having a place to store our luggage until check in time. And there not really being a place available for guest use on the terrace or in the garden to enjoy the outdoors (weather permitting we were visiting in April and there were both Sun and Clouds as well as some Rain).

This hotel was very close to everything, easy walk to town. Beautiful house with lovely traditional features. Clean and comfortable room with a balcony and view to the cathedral. Parking was across the street in a car park but the host gave you a ticket so no fee for it. The room was a good size with a comfy bed and pillows. Tea and coffee was available in the room which is a bonus on France. The host is very friendly and helpful and can understand English which is always a bonus. Breakfast was traditional french.
