The historic monastery building, the staff, the breakfast, and scenic location.

The only complaint was that after we checked in about 8:30 p.m. and got in our room, we needed an additional portable heater as the room was cold (there was only 1 for a good size, 2 level room) and the TV was not connected. The frustrating part was that the host had left the property and no staff were in the hotel to help. That said, I told our host in the morning and both issues were taken care of by the time we came back to the hotel that evening Also, high marks to our gracious and friendly host Case ( not sure of the spelling) who was a pleasure to talk with!

Lovely old Abby. Friendly staff. Superb location. We stayed in a duplex family room. Lot's of fun. Comfortable main bed, however the secondary bed was a bit soft. All in all ideal for 1 night or max 2. The children loved it. Probably the best location in the town. Pet friendly too. Very happy overall, thank you.

Breakfast was ok but not exceptional. Pillows were a bit unusual. A traditional 4 set would be preferred over the bolster pillow plus 2 pillows style. Extra pillows would be welcome too so that people can match their preferred type. It was perfect for 1 night for us but I wouldn't want to do a long stay.

Beautiful location. Spectacular property with middle age character and charm and amazing views of the Loire. The staff was fantastic, especially Bienvenue, whose smiley and happy disposition is as welcoming as his name. The breakfast is amazing and to have it overlooking the Loire is something unforgettable. Unfortunately the restaurant has been closed for a while for lack of a chef, but we had an amazing dinner at a restaurant within 5 minutes walk from the hotel, called Le P’tit Bateau, run by the Chef and owner and his wife.

The rooms get hot at night and the hotel could at least provide fans. We had to open the windows but the road was noisy and there is a busy bar next to the hotel which stays open until very late. Also the mattress and pillows could be a little less Franciscan.

The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful, especially the concierge. The room was quite large and dramatic with very high ceilings, although a little basic, and in need of a bit of upkeep, especially the bathroom, but it was clean, tidy, and the ambiance of the ancient building was lovely. The bed was large and very comfortable. Very nice lounge and bar area. The buffet breakfast was excellent, but is not included in the room rate, and is approximately18 Euros per person. The location for exploring Beaugency is excellent as it is adjacent to the Abbey and close to the chateau, and an interesting walk through the medieval streets of the town.

Quite a lot of traffic noise at night, and in the early morning, as the hotel is on a relatively busy road. It would have been helpful to have the WiFi code in the room, as we did not discover it until we checked out in the morning!

Location, excellent. Breakfast, excellent as always. Overall a good place to break our journey home. Our 4th visit and we will likely come again

The interest/disinterest of the receptionist (Bienvenue) on our arrival. He was rude and used his phone on a personal phone call the whole time he was serving. In addition as we were checking in, he stopped attending to us to take money for bar service from another client who arrived at the desk after us. Disappointing in an otherwise pleasant stay.

The location was very good - it is part of the Medieval City. The staff could not have been more helpful and were all charming. The hotel is a lesson in history and a one off experience not to be missed. We felt privileged to stay somewhere with such a long and interesting history. The views of The Loire from the Privilege rooms are simply stunning - and worth the extra few €’s.

If you have the sense to contextualise your stay - in an ancient building that is gradually being restored there is nothing not to like!

Staff were great, so friendly. Hotel was fabulous; proper Abbey dating back to 1084 I believe and looking out at the Loire and a bridge that dates back to 1400 or so. We went to see a few Chateaus nearby which were 1522 and the place where we were staying in was older ! Breakfast was excellent. The town was quaint and interesting ; quite a few restaurants. If you want a brand new Hotel like a Marriott this is not the place for you.

Shower head in room 11 didn't clip to the wall and had to be hand held.

The hotel is located in a cute small town. The architecture is fabulous, it was such a great chance that we were able to stay at an old monastery. They keep the very old paintings from former centuries, when you walk through the corridors you feel the presence of history. Our room was decorated in a traditional way, with the antique furnitures. Even though it was minus degrees outside, the room was heated very well. You can have breakfast at the hotel with the beautiful river view and the variety is very nice, you can find everything you need. It is such a great pleasure to taste the local wines next to the fireplace in the evenings at the bar. The staff was very helpful, friendly and kind. Mr. Alexis explained us the history of the building and it was very interesting to listen. We would like to thank Mr.Alexis and other crew members for their hospitality. Looking forward to come again.

Everything was perfect.

A marvelous, atmospheric, unique place with spectacular views. Well positioned in Beaugency with an easy access by car as well as bike. The breakfast is rich and has an wide offer of local produce, incl. cheese, honey and pastry. The hallway and the drawing rooms are nicely decorated. The staff is very helpful and friendly!

We stayed at a suit, which had a very comfortable bed but the pullout sofa wasn't that good at all. There was also a bit of dust under it. The bathroom was well organized, but the bathtub did not have a plug and no shower stand.

A beautiful old building bursting with character. Excellent breakfast, spoilt for choice. Car park albeit limited spaces on a first come basis.

Some of the bedrooms are getting a little tired and need refurbishment. The shower screen on the bath in my room no longer fitted so water went on the floor and you could see that this had been a problem for a while. But this is perhaps to be expected for such an old building. Rooms are expensive the reflect the upkeep needed for the building.
