The room was a nice size with windows that opened and overlooked the attractive back yard to the river. From where You can watch people walking, rinding jogging etc. The room was quiet and warm with a comfortable bed, and smelt nice (subtle). The ground floor breakfast room was attractive. Staff were friendly.

There were only stairs to the second level. There were pots and pans and cups and cutlery and a stovetop but there were no coffee or tea making facilities! Such an easy simple thing let the hotel down for us. So we requested (machine made) coffee in the breakfast room each morning and more than annoyed to find that we were charged euro 3.50 on our final bill for each one we had, although it was just a button someone pushed - not us, as guests were not allowed to help themselves.

the location is fantastic, the kitchenette inside the room is a brilliant idea, helped us freeze our ice packs for our toolbox the next day, shower very powerful, bed super comfortable, breakfast with fresh baker's croissants pain au Chocolat and crusty baguette (unlike other reviewers have said, the bakery items are genuinely from local baker's), internal shutters like in ancient times, very hard to believe it is only 2 stars rated, closer to 4 from our experience (and we have travelled a lot worldwide).

the pillars at the entrance were too narrow for our long van so we couldn't enter but left it parked just outside so that we could see its tail (for security check) from the Château

The location was ideal, being half way through our journey back through France to the UK. The parking was free, our room was a little on " the servants quarters" but it was sufficient for our needs-bed/shower/breakfast-go. It was only a 10 minute drive into Bourges centre( we have been before, but found there was too much renovation/re-designing going to be able to enjoy a stroll around. However we found a good restaurant. We couldn't find anywhere to eat near to the hotel, and the receptionist didn't have any info, other than Bourges. The breakfast wasn't remarkable, just the standard croissant/pain chocolate/bread etc. but it sufficed until lunchtime.

Breakfast could have been more adventurous. We were in a garret room on the second floor a lift would have been useful! There was no air con, again hot weather meant sleeping with windows open, we don't think we got bitten!

Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. The location was stunning, overlooking the lake with wooded grounds. It was also quiet and unrushed, it was a very pleasant stopover after a long drive. Breakfast was standard continental fare. The coffee was also excellent. I was surprised at the size of the room, it was enormous, it even had a built in kitchen, which I hadn't expected. Extremely comfortable bed as well.

A lift to the second floor would have been nice, but it is an old building, so I'm not complaining too much. The exercise was good for me anyway.

We have used this hotel several times now, to stop off at on our long drive down France to the Southwest of the country, with our dog. It's in a great location for breaking the journey, it's very pet-friendly, with the path all the way round the huge lake at the back of the hotel, making it perfect for exercising the dog after a long journey in the car and/or before leaving the next morning (also loads of wildlife around, particularly water birds). The rooms are fairly spacious and pretty functional, and the beds are comfortable. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. It's on the outskirts of Bourges, so there's not a lot in the immediate vicinity, but if you've arrived by car, it doesn't take long to drive into the old town centre, which is rather lovely and worth a visit if you have time. But being on the outskirts, it's easy to get to from the Autoroute, and easy to get straight off on your way again the next morning if you're just using it as a stop over to break the long journey to Le Sud.

It's not exactly luxurious (despite what the building looks like from the outside), but then it's very reasonably priced. The kitchen areas and showers have been upgraded over the last few years, but are still fairly basic, but everything works, it's clean and comfortable, and it's all absolutely functional - so nothing really to complain about.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is quite simple and basic, but in a quiet location and perfect for an overnight stop on the way back to Dieppe. Comfortable beds, a good shower and great to have a little kitchen space to make a cup of tea/coffee and a bowl of cereal for breakfast!

The kitchen was equipped with only the very basic crockery and no cutlery, but it was no problem at all to go via the reception desk to get the necessary items. Unfortunately, there is no decent restaurant nearby.

Comfortable bed, good shower. Quiet so good rest. Nice view from room. Good secure parking as very important for uas traveling in valuable classic car.

Lack of outside seating to enjoy the weather. Not very accessible friendly. Was put on first floor as a disabled person who has great problem in climbing stairs. When booking in was told we would be on second floor but after explaining the problem the best they could do was put us on the first floor despite asking for ground floor room at time of booking.

The hosts were very nice, the rooms were newly renovated, breakfast was super and the location to Bourge was closeby with shopping and a post office.

Unfortunately it was a very hot night and the room under the roof. had no fan, no cross ventilation. or insect screen. The bed was very small for 2 tall people so that when turning over you had the fear of falling off, in addition to being hot and sweaty.

Very comfortable, very clean room staff was very friendly very helpful The place itself was lovely river riding close to it nice gardens

It was extremely hot couldn’t open the windows because there’s too many mosquitoes and bugs no Aircon The room was in the attic Could not sleep properly it was so hot as I explained to you could not open the windows

We have now stayed at the Chateau on several visits and will continue to as this is our home away from home while in central France. We love every aspect of the property, the convenience to the motorway, ideal location close to scenic area and of course the welcoming staff and good value for money. We were pleasantly surprised by the upgrades to the property, smart new bathroom equipment and even more attractive bedroom. See you again soon.
