Stunning and extremely comfortable house in the centre of Carcassonne. The house itself is amazing. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable. Shower was fantastic. The staff were incredibly welcoming and always there if you needed to ask any questions but not intrusive. Everything about the house is stunning. The attention to detail is exceptional. Breakfast was fantastic and a joy to come down to every morning during our stay. Jane and John are exceptional hosts. I would strongly recommend staying in this Bed and Breakfast and will definitely return in the future.

A nice bed and breakfast in a historic townhouse close to the center of Carcassonne. The managers were very friendly and detail oriented. It was very hot when we arrived and the AC was already turned on in the room for us. Breakfast was delicious. It's a nice walk over the bridge to the old town of Carcassonne and just a few minutes away from the (free) public museum.

There is a public parking lot near the hotel that is affordable, but it closes pretty early at night, so if you drive somewhere outside Carcassonne at dinner, you may need to park quite far away from the property.

The location first and foremost is absolutely perfect for everything in the main heart of Carcassonne. Our room was located on the second floor and was beautifully decorated in the typical French style. Coffee machine in the room which was great when we first woke up and the toiletries provided were sufficient. The dining room was a particularly lovely experience with a plentiful breakfast supplied each morning and again the decor in there and in the main sitting room was simply stunning. We received a text message the day of our arrival to check everything was okay.

There's nothing bad to say about this day. All I would say is that if you have difficulty with stairs then maybe stipulate that you want a room on the first floor when you book.

I had a phenomenal stay. John was most welcoming and prepared a wonderful breakfast spread. I enjoyed our chats about his knowledge of France and his travels! I have many superlatives about property but one that comes out is attention to detail. The room was super well appointed, the bed extremely comfortable and the old world ambiance of the whole pace can't be beat. The location was exceptional and very central to everything! Will definitely stay here when I come back with my family. Thank you John and Jane! Pedro

We loved everything about this property. Communication beforehand with the hosts was excellent, instructions were very clear and we found the property easily. We were blown away with the interior, everything was in-keeping with the type of property, traditionally French, beautiful as well as comfortable, warm, welcoming and practical. The breakfast was excellent, amazing choice and exceptional value for money.

Nothing. There are no improvements we could suggest.

We rented the entire property as 4 couples for a long weekend and it suited us perfectly. The art deco building with high ceilings, ornate features and interesting furniture and art made for a unique setting. Huge rooms throughout and a large enclosed patio at the rear. Kitchen was well equipped albeit we mostly dined out. Great location for shops and bars and about a 15 minute walk to the medieval city.

Some of the sofas/chairs in the lounge were not especially comfortable. The shower/toilet arrangement in the "Marble" bedroom had very little privacy. We had no WiFi all weekend due a fault that could not be fixed without an engineer which was very frustrating (although the wine we were given by way of compensation was very welcome)

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building in a good location. Five minutes walk to the central square which has a variety of places to eat. At the end of the street is the road that leads to the bridge up to the castle. The accommodation is lovely and well thought out. The bedroom was large with a lovely on suite. Big, comfortable bed. We had a balcony room at the front of the building. The room has air con and heating if needed, coffee machine and kettle. Check in was easy. There is a lot of space in the building to relax, a communal lounge, dining room and courtyard. Continental breakfast was included, with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, cereal and breads. We enjoyed our stay

La Maison de L'Ambassadeur is a beautiful and charming building and the room we were in was very comfortable. We had a balcony looking over the courtyard which was great. The location is just right - easy walking distance from the train station but also to the old town, near to good food shopping and restaurants, very slightly off the main road to the old town, so really accessible to whatever you might want to do and see, but quiet. And - the breakfasts provided are very good...

La Maison de L’Ambassadeur was a pure delight from the moment John opened the door and offered us a glass of sparkling wine. The historical home was furnished beautifully and the bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and delicious. The location was perfect for exploring the new town and the old medieval city. Also it was just a 10 minute walk from the train station.

We liked everything.
