The staff were amazing, so friendly and they gave fab recommendations. The hostel was in such a central location and they fill up your water for free in the bar. The bed was so comfortable too.

I hired a towel for 6€ and it was so small, more the size of a hand towel rather than a body towel. The Aircon in the room wasn't very strong so the dorm felt hot. There are no lights next to the bed, just the main dorm light, sink and bathroom. Also no towel for the floor for the showers or hand soap for the sinks

Enjoying the adventure, perfect location, closed to everything, the train station the shop, the place with restaurant, bars, 20 minutes to the castle but a nice walk. The bed and cover were comfortable, the pillow wasn't. The hostel was clean, although that perhaps the outside bathrooms could be cleaned/checked more often during the day. Staff was great, welcoming, answering all my questions to make sure I had a great time, very helpful. You can drop your bag on your check-in or out if needed, for free. Bring your own lock, Towel available if asked, €6 too expensive... A couple of supermarkets with choices are within 5 minutes walking distances in case you forgot anything,

Perhaps a shelf or a net by the power socket when charging our phone would be helpful as there was no where to our phone other than our bed, when sleeping it is not practical. Pillow uncomfortable.

I like the location, it's in the center. The bed was comfy, the space was cozy and suitable for digital nomads like me with a good connection. Hands down to the guy in the reception, I appreciate his kindness and flexibility! He was very welcoming and helpful.

The girl in the reception was kind of cold to deal with, very unwelcoming and proposes no solutions. She was very strict about the check in time. Since I work remotely, I asked nicely if i can come 1h in advance and sit in the lobby to work, and I can do the check-in in time, but she refused. Also, there is no kitchen where you can cook or prepare something to eat + no light inside the beds as we are used to have in other international hostels.

Excellent location in the newer area of Carcassonne, only a 5 min walk from the train station (easier than walking up to the old city with baggage!). Shops & restaurants all nice and close, yet still an easy walk to La Cité to visit the main attraction of Carcassonne. Nice bar on site but I stayed a Sunday & Monday night in the off season so no one was there.

The room wasn’t cleaned on the first out of my 2 days. Also the website says you can rent towels but you actually have to buy one for €6 and the towel is tiny (but the staff member made an alternate arrangement for me, thank you)

Excellent location in the city, a short walk from the train station, and a pleasant 15/20 mins walk to the old bridge and medieval city. The whole building is nicely decked out, the restaurant/bar is really appealing and has a sophisticated atmosphere not typical for a hostel. The bedrooms are on the smaller side for six people, but spotlessly clean and with comfy beds. The under bed lockers are a good size, and took my large backpack with no problems (own padlock required, as standard). Special mention to the staff, who were among the most engaging and friendliest I've met and chatted with on the road. Leaving my backpack after checkout was allowed, but not in a protected or secure place. Merci beaucoup.

I made a request for a lower bunk on booking, but was given an upper one, even though I was only sharing a six bed room with one other person... I ended up taking a lower one anyway to not bother my roommate after hours. Ideally they could install privacy curtains, as the metallic bunk bed frames could easily accommodate them, and a shelf for personal items would be ideal too, especially for a charging phone, glasses, etc.

We booked a private room with private bathroom. The room was spacious (I think it was a barrier-free one) and comfortable in general. It was not too far from the station and a shopping street. There is a direct access to the rooftop from the 2nd floor where we were (unfortunately it wasn't an open day for the bar but it was still opened to have a look). It was pretty calm since it was in the middle of the week so if you want to enjoy the tapas and like it a bit more lively better come on weekends. All in all good value for money.

Room was overall clean but they clearly don't vacuum under the bed and it kind of smelled like inside a bathroom when we first entered so we had to ventilate for while. The hotel is close to the station but pretty far by walk from the fortified city (20min). It makes a good walk but it is to consider if you prefer to be close to main touristic attractions. It is a hostel so minimal amenities and no kettle for boiling water.

Bar/Restaurant on the ground floor was great; lovely old building well preserved; clean and comfortable rooms with a range of facilities to a good standard; friendly and helpful staff (arranged a taxi to the airport); central location; would stay at again

Discount at the bar/restaurant would have been nice; luggage room was just an unused part of the restaurant and not in a locked room but was fine; there was no common room/lounge and so the only place outside the room to chill was the bar/restaurant

Very clean, comfortable bed and pillow. Air con was very good, great location. Young lady at reception was lovely. I was in 6 bed female dorm with a shower, toilet and wash basin.

No towels are offered. Left mine in the communal bathroom and it was stolen by a another guest (obviously he/she didn’t have a towel). Seemed to be a plastic mattress protector on the bed which was annoying. No individual light in the bunk beds and no privacy curtain. Need own lock to secure valuables . No tea and coffee making facilities and no common room. One of the 2 communal bathrooms was locked.

Sparkling clean and comfortable dorms. Helpful and welcoming receptionists. Convenient location: walking distance from the train station and just 20 min walks from the medieval town.

There is just a single hook in the toilet, not enough to hang and place your personal stuff while having a shower, would help to have some shelves. The sink was clogged, but I told the receptionists and he said it would have been fixed.

Location is excellent in the Bastide. Receptionist very friendly and could leave my backpack before Checkin. The dorm was very clean, 6 bed female dorm with en suite bathroom facilities plus other communal bathrooms which were also very clean and modern. The bunk bed was extremely comfortable and with good mattresses, pillows and linen.

Overall it was excellent and would stay again, however no bath towels are supplied and no communal area to make a cup of tea etc….although there is a bar and restaurant on site. Would prefer privacy curtains and individual reading lights in the bunks. But these issues are not a deal breaker, would definitely stay again!
