The location was fantastic and I booked a harbour view room, which was small but lovely for watching the world go by! The beach by the tourist office was beautiful. Clean, clear water, small stones not sand, toilets and showers nearby and literally two minutes to the little supermarket for snacks and drinks as well as the restaurant right on the beach.

Room was very small. Fine for me on my own but would have been a real squeeze with 2 people. Other reviews have said this hotel isn't value for money but if you consider it's rated two stars and compare it to the price of the only other two hotels on the harbour, I thought it was quite good value!

Had pre-booked our parking spot so parking was very easy (3spots at the front of the hotel protected by chain and padlock. Get key from reception, unlock and park. If you go out by car be sure to put chain across and lock to avoid someone stealing your spot). They will also allow you to use the disabled access for unloading/loading the car but not during your stay. Check in was easy, parasols and beach towels available by request. They also provided sun protection umbrellas to help out the 34 degree heat! These will all need returning at the end of your stay. Our room was not huge but big enough. We’d booked a superior room and had room 40 on the second floor. The balconies are tiny but you have a great view! Bathroom was a good size. Cleaning happened every day. Air con worked well. The bed was a king size and quite comfortable. This is a 2 star hotel but a great 2 star. I’ve been confused by some of the negative reviews moaning. The location was fabulous, at the quieter end of the harbour and right on the front. 2 beaches within easy walking. Shops are enough to wander round, the market was great! We didn’t take the breakfast option, it seemed quite steep. Instead we walked to the bakery (La Tarte Tropezienne) and had pastries and coffee in the park. If you need more substance they’ll also heat a croque. We also tried La Fontaine who, like many others, offer a few breakfast ‘meal deals’ with baguettes, jam and pastries. For an evening meal you are spoilt for choice. If you need a budget option, a takeaway pizza from La Stazione and a couple of cans from the Casino shop was €20 and we ate at the harbour.

Would have been great to have tea/coffee in the room but it was easy enough to get one in the cafe at the bottom.

Wonderful location right in the Port of Cassis. Restaurants and bars beneath you. The views were amazing and the staff were super friendly. Great location if you are walking the trails as they literally start just a short distance up the road. There is a beautiful beach within walking distance which offers pristine clear water. The air conditioning worked well and the room was very comfortable.

WiFi was a bit hit and miss and there was no fridge in the room but you could leave a few items with reception as they had a fridge for guests to use. Nothing to complain about really, we loved our stay in Cassis.

Superb location! View of the harbour and bars and restaurants and beautiful hilltop castle. Clean comfortable room ( Room 32) good buffet breakfast which cost 13 euros. Reception staff friendly and helpful and I was able to borrow a kettle to make tea. Was able to purchase mini UHT sachets from mini mart in the centre of cassis about 5 mins walk away. For a 2 star hotel, it provides comfortable, clean accommodation at an amazing location. There is a popular bar/restaurant which is on the ground floor looking on to the harbour. I have based my score on the hotel knowing it is 2stars. Good value for money. Spent 2 nights at hotel. Photos view from the room.

A fridge/Kettle and safe would make a big difference, maybe even upgrade your stars to 3? Even if the room rate went up I would happily pay to stay! Have just arrived at a 3 star hotel in Nice, room rate double from your hotel, room not as nice as your hotel, despite Kettle/Fridge and safe, you have a little gem, show it off, it's certainly worth more!

Location was excellent . Helpful staff , reception staff especially . Good clean room , comfortable bed , good bathroom. Nice balcony overlooking harbour . Varied breakfast , good quality . Many restaurants , cafes and bars .

We had difficulty finding the hotel parking area as the address provided for the hotel has no access for vehicles . The reception staff were extremely helpful directing us over the phone. However it would have been so much easier had we had these directions prior to arriving in Cassis. A tip for future guests arriving by car - the hotel parking area is to the rear of the hotel on Av.de L’Admiral Ganteaumol.

Fantastic location in Cassis, well worth paying the extra for a room with a sea view. There is everything you need in the room and the hotel restaurant below was great for lunch. Easy to walk to everything Cassis has to offer. Worth booking parking through the hotel as on street parking can be a challenge when busy. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing to dislike.,

The hotel dates back to the late 1940s and has a lot of retro charm - it was like being in a scene from The Talented Mr Ripley. Perfectly located at the quieter end of the harbour, it has a restaurant with a huge terrace and good, unpretentious food. Also one of the best negronis I've tasted recently, but maybe the view helped. The room was clean and, compared to other hotels in the town, very accessibly priced.

My room was fairly small, but since I spent most of my time outside, it really didn't bother me. The hotel is a good trek from the railway station, a hilly half hour on foot - but there's a bus stop not far away.

Great little waterfront hotel. It's room only so no bar fridge or microwave but they do a great breakfast at the brasserie downstairs with as much as you can eat including the freshest croissants, great coffee etc to keep you going all day! Comfy bed and pillows plus a small balcony with the sea view room with a table and chairs. Great value for money for a couple of nights.

Nothing not to like. Tiny shower if you're a big person but does the job.

Location of the hotel was great, right on the harbour. Absolutely worth spending that little bit more as well to obtain the rooms at the front, the view of Chateau Cassis across the harbour at night was incredible. Breakfast was cheap and generous. Staff were very friendly. Air-conditioning was great for our hot weather while we were visiting. If your driving definitely worth reserving a carpark. It's very busy and limited parking on the street around. Unless you park out of town and catch the transfer bus in.

Rooms were a little dull but honestly nothing to bad. I think price, location and view definitely out way this. A bar fridge would have be nice.

We loved our mini-moon stay at Hotel Le Golfe, its location right on the harbour, the kindness of its staff, the nice restaurant offering great food on the ground-floor, everything was perfect and so easy. A real home away from home, once the car parked we didn't have to drive it until we left 3 days later as we had everything we needed on our doorstep. The view from our balcony, overlooking the old castle, was just amazing. Cassis and its Calanques are such a beautiful area to visit, we highly recommend it! You can also eat delicious meals at all the nearby restaurants located around the harbour. Julie and Valerie on reception were the stars of the show, so helpful and friendly, thank you for looking after us! We'll be back :)

When other guests were coming back late at night you could hear noise coming from the corridor, perhaps a good idea to consider soundproofing the bedrooms' doors. Not a biggie as the facilities were very good, clean and nicely decorated. The AC worked very well too.
