Many French hotels targetting mainly transit passengers moving by car are often a bit run down, and looking at the booking.com rating, we did not have great expectations. Nonetheless, and while the outdoor areas were a bit "dusty", the overall facilities were quite OK, and the room was comfortable and quiet, with comfortable beds. The free parking is a bonus. The hotel has a relatively well equipped outdoor area for children, including a small zip-line for children. The man in the breakfast area was hard-working, friendly and helpful.

The overall feeling of the hotel remains a bit dusty. The woman who checked us in was not particularly friendly and a credit card guarantee had to be separately (from the general booking) had to be made on check-in. I asked what it was for as there is no mini-bar and was told something about penalties if one smokes in the room. We are not smokers but in any event, this was not a welcoming and hardly very useful measure.

Room was spacious and bed comfortable but pillows awful! Bar /outside area very nice and lots of entertainment for kids generally a very good stay

Bath was very short and lacked grab handles particularly important for older guests!! Not happy to pay 17 euros for breakfast as not big breakfast eaters so not worth that much would have liked small offer of some sort!! Food in restaurant not great had Italian antipasto to start virtually no meat all salad!! Main course ok but disappointing , on the plus side lovely cheerful waitress very helpful.

great location. small rooms but comfortable and nicely decorated. in fact the whole hotel is very classy for a Best Western and had the right French Riviera feel without being either too expensive or too overdone. A place where we could have easily stayed longer. Rooms with sea view worth it. it was too cold to use the pool but it looked great. special compliments for the use of green and the gardening. breakfast very good to excellent although even a hotel like this seems to not be able to escape some industrial bake off nor the standard coffee machines. very secure private parking with large spaces (paying of course).

the staff was somewhat cold or distant. not just one person but several. the elevator is Parisian size. one example : we were with older people and they had to struggle themselves with the tiny elevator upon arrival. any person with a decent sense of hospitality would have jumped up to help and for a hotel with this standard.

The bacon at breakfast was fantastic! And you could make pancakes in a pancake machine ! There were other nice surprising dishes served. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious enough. Bathroom was also neat! Friendly staff.

We had to wait an hour and a half before the room was ready around 4pm. And not even a coffee or tea was offered. The lounge in the main lobby is dated and in need of replacement. The entrance could also use a more fancy look with the Lifeless gray weathered walls around the 1980s doors. Surely with a little paint you could give the face of the entrance a facelift, it could really be improved with a little effort. Soap bottle was empty by the bathtub, bummer when you just got in the shower.

The location of the Best Western Alexander Park Chambéry is great. It has a large garden and terrace where you can have your breakfast. The kids also enjoyed the children playground. There is a large parking to leave your car. We had a great room and a very good breakfast. The staff is very friendly and flexible.

Good sized double room. Adjustable height shower and bath. Excellent buffet breakfast. Good dinner in restaurant with helpful restaurant staff, and good service. On the whole a good experience.

Plastic undersheet on bed, uncomfortable and sweaty to sleep on. Slow service at reception to book in. One receptionist occupied with another customer, another 3 ignoring us waiting for a good 10-15 minutes.

The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The location is good for a stop on a longer trip: near the motorway and a shopping center and restaurants.

The swimming pool was very small. In the end we weren't able to use it, as it was full. The water heater for making coffee or tea in the room didn't work.

The hotel overall was quite good. There was an outdoor play area for kids (but the kids couldn't play as it was raining). There was a spacious lounge with different activities. The staff was pretty good.

The elevator (lift) is really small and old. The carpets in the rooms need changing.

Unfortunately got the ice cold and unfriendly treatment when I checked in, for a 4 star hotel I would have expected a more friendly professional welcome. The second receptionist younger guy with glasses was much more friendly though. Restaurant closed and no food available the bar either, room was good sized though and very clean, but the bad check in experience spoilt my stay.

Receptionists were very friendly and supportive. We arrived rather late but were still able to get a table in the restaurant, which was very busy, so very much appreciated after a long drive with two small children.

Feedback from the kids: they were a bit disappointed that an arcade machine did not work. Personally I did not mind so much, as it was therefore easier to take them to their room and get a good night sleep.
