The breakfast was a very nice French breakfast with cereal, yogurt, cheese, juice & breads. The best part was the freshly baked croissant served warm! Every evening the owner put on a fire in the very comfortable and quiet common room and we relaxed with a nice bottle of wine in front of the fireplace - a great end to a lovely day out. The owner was very friendly and informative and gave us wonderful recommendations. This is a wonderful to stay when exploring Auxerre and Chablis - out in the countryside but not a far drive from either city. There is a refrigerator, microwave and plates and utensils available for use in the common area, perfect if you want to have a picnic on the grounds.

This is a beautiful property on the edge of a small village. The owners were super helpful and welcoming but not overpowering. The room was furnished to a high standard: everything had been considered. Breakfast was served in the garden and the croissants were delicious - we later found out were homemade which left us speechless!! Will definitely return as there’s plenty to visit in the area. Would highly recommend.

La Barbotiere is located in a charming village that has a small supermarket and a restaurant, it is a lovely place to walk around in the evening. Our hosts were extremely helpful, providing local information and maps. The weather turned and it was rather cold while we were staying at La Barbotiere so we were thrilled to be able to sit in front of a roaring fire on our return from a day discovering Auxerre and Chablis.

Everything was perfect, we had no disappointments.

Rooms were spacious, clean, and supplied nice towels and soaps. Rather cool in evening and morning, as heat was not yet turned on. Nice fire downstairs that was going as we went to bed and as we went down for breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful with delicious croissants, breads, fresh-squeezed juice, butter, jams, coffee and tea. Host pleasant, spoke English well and gave good recommendations.

Cold in the evening without any heat upstairs, otherwise, a lovely place in the countryside.

The second time we have stayed here, and we like it very much. Bruno is a wonderful host. The room is very comfortable and clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast is excellent. To top it off, a tranquil and historic setting. Thank you.

Spacious room, with an exceptional new bathroom. Lots of downstairs space to relax in. Lovely views of garden, stream, wildlife. Everything clean, well organised, thoughtful for guests comfort.

The location and setting were fabulous..... quiet countryside, on edge of small village, not far from bigger city of Auxerre. We reckon that was the most comfortable bed we had on our whole trip. Breakfast was good, and available right on time.. Hosts, Bruno and Marie were very pleasant and very helpful. This is just the right place to relax before hitting Paris and CDG.. Or to get over jet-lag, before setting out to explore France

Lovely comfortable accommodation in a serene location. Bruno, the host, was excellent & provided copious amounts of information on the local area and ‘eateries’ …. Most useful.

Highly recommended. Quiet peaceful location on edge of a delightful village. Village has excellent restaurants and bar. Hotel has many facilities and is very welcoming and friendly. Good breakfast.large comfortable room and ensuite.

Absolutely charming B&B on countryside with lovely host. There were only two rooms in total so very calm. Big rustique modern style and very clean room with own bath/WC. Gorgeous breakfast. Outside parking by house.
