Maison Philippe Le Bon is a quaint hotel that has parts dating back to the 15th century which adds atmosphere. You can sit in the small courtyard and enjoy the delights of the bar. The restaurant is very good and all the staff are all friendly, helpful and speak English.

The quaintness is responsible for the old stone spiral staircase that requires a 52 step climb to get to your room. There was no warning of this and it was a little dangerous lugging large heavy suitcases to the room. Breakfast a little disappointing especially as the scrambled egg was made from powder.

Lovely hotel, very nice staff, room was excellent. The hotel is situated on a quite narrow road (has parking) but also has a public carpark across the road too. Dijon is really lovely and this hotel has an excellent location - very easy 5min walk to the old town.

Staircase to the bedroom - old stone spiral staircase - really beautiful but if you have any mobility problems, young children or dogs you might find this a challenge. Please note: not all rooms are accessed via this staircase - just ask on booking - would highly recommend this hotel.

The decor of the registration desk area, the breakfast room, the bar, the bedrooms, were each different and didn’t flow at all. The bar felt dark with mirrors, the breakfast room had red everywhere, the reception silver and black, our bedrooms white and deep green. Highly recommend a color or design consultation to integrate the different spaces. Maybe because it was winter and we were focused on interior spaces, that we had this reaction. The beautiful medieval courtyard was too cold to hang out in as it was March. I can imagine it’s a fun location in Spring and Summer.

Great location. Lovely bar and dining area. Outside terrace would be lovely in the Summer months.

Bathroom was freezing. No heating and thermostat did not work when I tried to alter the temperature. Missing a heated towel rail. Really, really important to dry your towels. We were only there one night otherwise it would not have been nice. The shower was impossible to stand under as the location of the shower was halfway up the wall and under the eaves. did not work at all. Bathroom needed a redesign to be there other way round and shower on the full height end of the room. But lovely fittings and tiling and it did have a bath.

I have a torn meniscus in my knee and found the first room we were given almost impossible to access up a steep stone spiral staircase. The staff went out of their way to move us to a more accessible room. They were friendly and extremely helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service.

Probably communication when booking as access to the rooms in the mediaeval section of the hotel is difficult and we were not told this at the time of booking.

Easy to find. Lovely room. Very comfy bed. Coffee & tea etc. One of the few hotels we stayed in which had a USB socket!! Nice en suite. Place was immaculate. Onsite parking was easy and as we were on a motorbike they reduced the cost. Nice and central for exploring. Receptionist in the morning was just lovely, I'd have given a better review if the one when we arrived was as good

When I arrived I was very hot and had to wait ages in all my bike gear. Once the receptionist finally got to me, (and she did proceed to turn on the aircon) although I was standing there virtually dripping on the floor with my husband impatiently sat on the bike outside - also in full leathers, she allowed herself to get distracted by a question from someone else, whilst she was still dealing with me, which took quite some time. I was rather unimpressed. Other than that all was excellent

We enjoyed our stay very much in the historic part of the hotel. Very, very quiet and cosy room with a smart and roomy shower. Excellent food and wine, the breakfast was very good, and many thanks especially to Roberta, who gave us some recipes on things in the breakfast buffet and also good tips on where to go.

Perhaps there could have been some somewhat stronger ceiling lights in the room for my old eyes, but otherwise the room was excellent; very cosy and quiet.

A lovely well located hotel with a charming garden and courtyard area with a very nice air conditioned room.

We booked breakfast but when we went down at around 9:30am on a Sunday morning there was only a limited selection of food available for the money. So we decided to cancel the breakfast reservation which was a shame as the surroundings were so nice in the restaurant and the garden. However, there are plenty of lovely French Cafes close by and we had a lovely breakfast just a few minutes away. Furthermore, older and less mobile guests should check that they aren’t going to be located in a second floor room which can only be accessed via a long and twisting stone staircase.

Staff were amazingly friendly, welcoming and helpful. We brought our dog with us and they couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly towards him. He was a little local super star. The reception girls all came out to greet him. We then asked the reception to help us find a place to eat as we had decided not to eat in the hotel but to venture in to town. They were very helpful even phoning through and making a reservation for us.

Parking at the property is quite limited. They offered for us to park opposite in an underground car park however unfortunately our car is rather large and was above the 1.9m height restriction. Therefore we had to 15 minutes walk away. Not the hotel’s fault at all but perhaps a consideration for others to think about. We thought breakfast was a little underwhelming but that’s just our opinion - others have reported it to be “too much” so I’m not sure how the hotel can win on this front!
