Lovely staff. Dinner in the pub was great and breakfast was also very good. Convenient for motorway travel; beautiful grounds, building and gardens. Good location for a wedding. Decent parking right in front of room. Good price for the experience.
The room was extremely HOT with no way of controlling the temp (it was October and 15 degrees outside). The rooms are not soundproofed- heard our neighbours laughing and talking until 4am. The man on reception was doubling as the breakfast room attendant so tables were only cleared and food replenished when he had time to step away from reception. An extra member of staff to assist with breakfast is needed.

We have stayed here many times over the years and the room was great, very spacious and quiet. We arrived at 4pm and I have to say the lady in reception was not particularly welcoming, and did not explain about the dining options or breakfast, as happened the last times we have stayed. Also the breakfast on the following morning was adequate but disappointing, as there seemed to be a morning meeting going on at the same time, so we were left to ourselves, and the usual choices of food were very limited compared to normal. However we did have an excellent meal and very friendly service in the Vasco restaurant, which has a very convivial atmosphere.
The breakfast was not as good as usual, and we have had some of the very best breakfasts ever here over the years.

This hotel is certainly original. It is located in an old chateau but some of the rooms are in an outhouse that was part of a distillery. This means you might have to walk a bit between the room and the reception and breakfast rooms but historic rooms have a special atmosphere. The breakfast was very good. The location is in the middle of nowhere but close to the motorway so it's a good stopover on the way to or from the channel, which is probably what most guests use it for.
There are two restaurants on site but if you want to look for something easy and less pricey, you will end up at a typical French strip mall.

The rooms are amazing! We were in, what I think would be an annexe, but it was part of the old brewery and the room was quite something! We ate outdoors in the restaurant and had the most delicious steaks we've ever had. Even the chips were great! The dessert was a disappointment after such a lovely mains. We ordered profiteroles and the pastry was hard and quite stale.
We loved staying here but there were a few niggly things. It was hot! The only way to cool the room was to leave the window open. That's not ideal. There are 3 entrances but there are no signs outside to direct you in through the right one. We went through the middle entrance but had to ask a waiter for directions to reception as there are no signs within the grounds either. We saw two other couples doing the same. Once we found the building to check in (which was stunning!) there was only one tiny sign at the gate vaguely pointing to the door.

I was upgraded from the Best Western to the neighbour Chateau Val de la Chartreuse. Both hotels are part of a group of very nice buildings with beautiful gardens. There is an atmosphere of noblesse, but keeping the guests feeling well. Excellent breakfast (despite there was no scrambled eggs, but enough other good things). I appreciated the small refrigerator in my room. I was there as guest of a wedding, we had lunch with excellent food and wines, it was just amazing
Small construction problem in my bathroom: the floor in the shower area is too flat and it was difficult to take a shower without putting the complete room under water.

Really perfect stopover to or from tunnel or ferry. Fabulous buildings, great grounds. On certain days choice of restaurant. Good breakfast with lovely helpful staffAmple parking. Cosy room. Ideal for dogs. Will definitely stay again.
The hotel is over several sites and there was no one in reception at the hotel and it was a long walk and guess work to find where to check in. No one showed us to our room which we assumed was in the main hotel building. It wasn't There was an intercom to ring. Not really an ideal welcome especially after a very long tiring journey and poor first impression. Fortunately the stay was much better once we found our room. It wasn't just us wandering round!

We've stayed here twice before. It's a convenient 1hr drive from Calais. Quiet, quirky rooms and plenty of parking. What is a little odd is the relationship with the hotel next door. This time, it's reception was also covering La Metarie. Not a problem unless it's raining , just a bit of a walk between the two establishments. Breakfast was served in the Hotel La Chatreuse. Dinner was served in its associated restaurant La Distillerie.
Sad to see that the extensive garden at the rear is now overgrown. It's still a peaceful place for an overnight stop

Absolutely beautiful grounds and both the chateau rooms as well as the stable ones opposite the Vasco restaurant are outstanding. We were upgraded to a magnificent room in the Chateau. The food in the Vasco restaurant is very good and so much better than a few years ago. Staff always charming
All good. I suppose if I was to find something negative to say then it would be that I'm glad I checked my bill as they had accidentally added on my accommodation charge even though I had already paid it. Always worth checking these things

The hotel is located outside the village, in a quiet location. It has ample parking and three restaurants in the vicinity. The French restaurant at the nearby castle looked very nice. The suite is very large, perfect for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. We were very pleasantly surprised by the facilities and location for a 3 star hotel.
There were a couple of steps to access the bathroom area from the room. Not a big issue but not used to it.

We have stayed here many times and it's always a pleasure. Very handy for the motorway but very peaceful, with the most beautiful grounds. Rooms are lovely, staff always delightful and the meals in the restaurants are excellent - much better of late so I'm assuming they have a new chef.
This is a tiny little quibble but I think the carpets in the main hotel make the place smell a bit funny. Maybe they need to be renewed or cleaned?
