Wonderful welcome from Mersault? I think that was his name. From the second we went in through the gates were overwhelmed by how beautiful this place was . Stayed in the “Queens” room (2). Beautiful 4 poster bed. Absolutely spotless. Drinks served down by the pool and later on at night in the garden. Just so much character! Couldn’t have asked for more. Will definitely be back again. Felt safe parking the car there as gates are closed at nighttime ( you get a card to open them as a guest. Only 5 mins walk down to the old port.

Honestly, we enjoyed every aspect of our short stay.

The staff are out-of-this-world welcoming and helpful. One gentleman, Fabrice I believe, helped me park when the main lot was full. He noticed an unsafe bulge in my tire and helped me connect with my rental car company to negotiate the roadside assistance situation. The gentleman tending to the gardens stopped leaf blowing to open the gate for me and help me back out onto the street. He offered that without me asking. Based on the setup, that was quite helpful. Just lovely, lovely staff. The grounds and interiors are beautifully decorated. You will have a feast for the eyes in every direction as artful pieces are everywhere. The room had everything I needed, including a comfortable bed and bedding, a shower with great water pressure and plenty of hot water, and gorgeous views of the city of Honfleur. I very much wish I could have stayed more than one night. I was wonderful.

The location was excellent - far enough away for peace and quiet yet close enough for a quick stroll to get to the harbor and shops/eateries. Staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help out especially the dapper gentleman Nam:) who checked me in, and the other gentleman (i can't remember his name i feel terrible) who helped with dinner reservations and a taxi for a restaurant that was outside of the main area (we ended up cancelling and deciding to just walk in to town). The property is beautiful and quirky (very Wes Anderson) - a former manor, with an opulent main building/grounds. The resident cat, Creme Fraiche was adorable. I wish the weather was good enough to take advantage of the pool but it was too cold at the time. didn't have breakfast on property because my family wanted to go in to town. would def stay again!

no complaints really, it was a fun place

Close to town, free parking and safe. Swimming pool and nice garden, weather permitting. Lovley friendly Nam. The room we swapped to was a new build alongside the parking area. The room was bright, lovely linen, kettle, bath with shower attachment ans toilet. Very comfortable and only a small flight of outside stairs up to the room.

I was so looking forward to staying in the Hotel. Unfortunately I booked through Booking.com, standard double. It was on the second floor, no lift, small and dark. We were given the choice of that or swapping for a new build alongside the house, same price. I was dissapointed as the reason for going to that hotel was to experience the unique house., but I cannot physically climb that amount of stairs with luggage. Ok only one night, but still a dissapointment as this was for my 70th Birthday. These points should be listed on booking.com, i.e., no lift, on second floor, and a representational photo of the room.

This hotel is a DREAM! You feel you are invited to a private property! The hotel is indeed originally a beautiful private large property with garden. The welcome is very warm and friendly in one of the richly decorated rooms of the property. The whole house, including all the rooms, is very beautifully decorated. The rooms are clean, well kept, very comfortable and very quiet with view either on the garden or the large front yard with its impressive entrance gate. The breakfast is a royal pleasure, including anything you may like, fresh croissants etc. etc. in a room with view on the garden or, on a warm summer day, in the nice garden outside. Overall a real treat!

Everything is perfect. The entrance to the hotel could be labeled better: On arrival on the narrow street you see a sign "Hotel Écrin" and you think you are there but all you see is a door with doorbells carrying private names. You have to know that you have to drive past this house (which is not the actual hotel) to find the entrance gate to your left!

Superb hotel. We chose what was called the Suite, but it turned out to be an apartment by the outside swimming pool (not in use in December!). It was fabulous. Very big bedroom, separate sitting room, kitchen, big bathroom with a bath, separate shower and separate toilet. Beautifully cleaned and tidied each day, bedlinen changed twice over five days. Cannot therefore comment on the bedrooms in the main house but should be good if our experience is to go by.

Sadly, the WiFi reception was awful, possibly because the router is in the main house.

The room was very nice with a very good bathroom (roll top bath and separate shower). The mini bar/fridge was useful and the complimentary water was a nice touch. The aircon was also useful as the weather was hot when we visited. The swimming pool was a lovely peaceful area. Staff we encountered were always friendly. Being able to park directly at the hotel was a plus too. Finally, the location of the hotel was excellent, being just a few minutes stroll into the historical centre and marina area.

Potentially offering a B&B inclusive rate when booking rather than simply a room rate and then being informed of the breakfast rate separately on arrival. This may not have been down to the hotel, though.

We were upgraded to a room a few feet away from the main house, which was great. The main building has some quirky furniture which adds character. We didn’t stay for breakfast so I cannot comment on that. Secure parking inside the hotel compound with the gates locked at night. Short walk, downhill, to the town of Honfleur which made the location excellent. Tea /coffee making facilities in the room was great.

The Wi-Fi was very poor whereby the card machine wouldn’t connect meaning we paid in cash to speed up check in.

Lovely hotel with a big walled carpark. Short walk into town/marina. Our second time stay here. Room was nice and spacious. Has a pool too. Staff are great, friendly and helpful

Tea/coffee in the room was a bit on the mean side, 1 tea bag between two! no milk and 1 sugar. Shower grout looked a little tired but bathroom was clean. Breakfast wasnt worth 15euros, better to eat out for better value but it was decent enough for convenience.

Level of service was exceptional - from check-in and waiting staff. The main house is eclectically decorated and rather beautiful. Parking is a significant problem in Honfleur but the hotel was able to give us safe parking for 3 cars.

Our room did not resemble the beautiful four-poster bed accommodation shown on the website. It was in a modern extension block. Although well furnished, decorated and comfortable it was nevertheless a let-down.
