Located deep in the countryside of Normandy, this old manor house dates from at least the 14th century. Eclectic furnishings. Friendly and knowledgeable proprietor. Added bonus if you can speak French since he knows a lot about local history. Makings for self-prepared continental breakfast in a refurbished 16th-Century pigeonhouse (!). You should arrive in daylight; it's best to use Google Maps along the small country roads. Highly recommended if you are a flexible, patient, and adventurous traveler who likes something different. Visit nearby historical Orbec and dine at L'Orbequoise restaurant.

Parking is in a driveway on a property across the road. There is a wooden fence to enter the house itself. Look carefully for the sign. Carry bags across the road, along the path through the garden into the house. Rooms small but comfortable. It's worth it for travelers who enjoy rural sightseeing and history.

We had lots of food and drinks available all day., and more if we needed.. there was the usual kettle but also a large fridge and a microwave.. lots of cutlery and crockery… all washed and replaced daily… it was an amazing experience… and lots of room…separate dining area…never had such good value for money.. the owner speaks English and gave us lots of information aswell as local history.. we received texts every day asking if there was anything extra that we needed., we were made to feel very welcome indeed… we could come and go as we pleased….it was a really special place to stay that we shall remember forever.

The host was very welcoming. The property was a lot of fun and beautiful. Communication before and during the stay was great. Breakfast was lovely (with our own space to enjoy it in).

Slight confusion regarding which entrance to use. There are signs in from where you park but then they stop and the path goes to the right and left so we knocked on the wrong door.

Loved it all. Beautiful place, excellent host. Every detail attended to, even booking us a restaurant that evening. The perfect French experience. We hope to return one day.

Our Sat Nav. It is difficult to explain directions to someone, but we got there in the end.

a medieval property hidden in Normandy countryside. For us perfect coming from a busy town. No meals, self service b/fast, fridge, toaster, m/wave, french bread, coffee, tea, very nice & spotlessly clean. Beautiful bed. The spiral staircase is not for anyone with bad backs or new knees etc but we loved it! Denis is great & speaks gd English.

Difficult to find as out in the sticks.

All perfect! Very quirky and quiet. Extremely helpful and welcoming hosts. Absolutely LOVED the bread etc. Lovely local walk.
