We had a wonderful week at the vineyard Château La Grande Clotte. The suites were big, beautiful furnited and clean. We felt like home. We could use a kitchen in case we stayed with wine and cheese at the sociable dining table or on the terrace with a stunning view of the vineyards. Definitely recommend the suggested bike tour and the tour around the vineyard with Julie. The château ist perfectly located to do day trips to the ocean, Bordeaux or around the wine area. Julie was a great host, who always had great tips for us (trust her with her restaurant tips - we had such great dinner).

Incredible place to stay amongst the vineyards. The hosts have done an amazing job restoring the place, bringing it up to speed with all the mod cons you'd expect whilst retaining all of the old charm of years gone by. Lovely pool setting and event space. We particularly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, almost hostel like but in a chateau - food, wine and bicycle tour were all very enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and organic! The rooms were well appointed and had everything we could want. We would highly recommend.

A gorgeous, recently restored guesthouse in the heart of the Bordeaux countryside. Clean and modern bedroom and bathroom. Quiet swimming pool overlooking the vineyard. Healthy, tasty breakfast options. Really friendly and helpful owners. Good location for visiting local villages and vineyards.

Honestly we loved everything. Our only suggestion would be to provide a few more hooks/hangers for hanging up clothes.

The property is set in a very beautiful and peaceful setting with really friendly owners, who were always available to provide helpful tips (the bike tour was so much fun) The facilities were amazing, breakfast was delicious and all made even better by a very friendly dog hanging out Couldn’t recommend this place more

We had a wonderful few days at the Chateau learning about, and trying, their wines and relaxing around the pool and vineyard. Our afternoon picnic on the electric bikes was a real highlight. Thank you for your hospitality Julie and Mathieu ...and Pampa the dog

we loved everything

Super peaceful and relaxing stay. Perfect location in the middle of vineyards. Nice breakfast and as there are currently only 2 rooms, quite peaceful and relaxing. A beautiful swimming pool with a view on vineyards. Very helpful, motivated and kind hosts -a young family of passionate winemakers, who make their own excellent wine bio and are passionate about it.

We really liked everything with our visit at La Grande Clotte. We stayed there for three nights during my 30th birthday trip in Bordeaux. Julie and Mathieu welcomed us in the best way and gave us a winetasting with there own produced wine, which are amazing! Julie also gave us a lot of tips on restaurants and activities to do in the area. Additionally, the breakfast is lovely and the pool is amazing with a beautiful view over the vineyard. We want to go back!! 😊

We loved absolutely everything. Hotel is very cozy. Owners are very friendly and do their best for the guests to feel like at home. We’ve got the tour around the winery, participated in masterclass and tried their wine. Fantastic place!

Great location in the middle of vineyards, so you have a lovely view while having a glass of wine in the pool at sunset. The owner/host creates an atmosphere in which you feel very welcome The room was very elegant and tastefully done, clean and well maintained.

Nothing bad to say

Everything was fabulous. I stayed with my wife Caroline for 2 weeks in the area including The Dordogne, Saint-Emillion and Bordeaux. We stayed in a mixture of airbnbs, hotels (including a fabulous place with a Michelin star restaurant), guest houses and this chateau. This place was our favourite. The other reviews seem to capture it all. It was such a nice base to return to for 3 days as we explored the beautiful area. Our time outside the chateau visiting other places were made all the more enjoyable by the great start we had to the day waking up here to a lovely French breakfast and the expectation of returning here to relax at the end of each day. We were made very welcome and are so impressed with how the owners are with their guests and also how well they run their business producing wine. We tried some of the wine too and it was excellent.
