This really is a little treat that is hard to share. It is a tadge tricky to find so phone navigation is crucial (my car satnav gave up) but once there, how lovely. Pascal has gone to great lengths to create a stunning place to stay, working with the richness of the historic heritage of the building and his own good taste. His hospitality is old school without the incumbent stuffiness - glass of local Vouvray is offered if you reserve the evening meal; candles are lit in the glorious dining room, decorated with displays of flowers from the garden; breakfast trays laid with tray cloths; homemade food of a high standard as Pascal is a pastry chef. I have stayed twice - both bedrooms were comfortable and stylish.

Honestly - nothing.

Staying at the Manoir is a unique experience because it is small(three rooms) and under the personal supervision of Pascal who provides an exceptional welcome and service. Dinner is provided in a dining room furnished and decorated appropriate to the history of the Manoir and you share the large table with any other guests who are dining. The meal was memorable for its quality, variety and for Pascal’s personal service. In our case we enjoyed our evening in the company of a delightful young Dutch couple. Breakfast was another memorable experience for the brownies which Pascal produced. Finally the Manoir can be reached quickly from exit 19 on the A10. Although deep in the countryside Apple Maps brought us there directly

While the rooms have been restored fully to modern standards, they are in the roof space of the main building and ours had sloping ceilings which caused me to bump my head several times until I got used to it, so I would say that if you do not intend to dine at the Manoir, then I wouldn’t be recommending so strongly just as a place to stay and to eat elsewhere.

After a little bit of adventure to find this glorious historic place, I received a very warm welcome from Tattou, an affectionate Shih Tzu, and once I had made my way to the door, from Pascal. As many others have commented, the place is glorious and the result of some 15 years of restoration. I enjoyed my attractive and well equipped room and a great private dinner cooked by Pascal, all at a very fair price. The Manoir is well situated for travellers ( like me) on the A10/A28 although your Satnav might struggle. Sadly I didn’t get to appreciate the garden ( mid January stay) although Pascal uses his produce to decorate the place: glorious Annabelle hydrangeas firmed the centrepiece of the arrangement in the stylish dining room. I also enjoyed Pascal’s knowledgeable wine choices.

Nothing. You do need to be organised to get there and if you are at all fussy on food, advise in advance.

Stunningly beautiful property - the building, the grounds, the interior decoration of the rooms and the dining room. The hospitality of the owner Pascal - friendly, kind, attentive. The food - we reserved the evening meal (which is a great idea not only because the food and wine are top quality but also because then you can enjoy the property and the dining room even more. Bed was comfortable and our dog was very welcome. It’s the perfect place as a base to explore the Loire. I can’t want to go back and stay again but hopefully for longer.

It wasn’t clear how much we would be charged for our dog in advance.

We were looking for an overnight stopover en route to the south, avoiding hotel chains, and thought Le Manoir looked interesting. From the moment we arrived everything surpassed our high expectations. Pascal, our host, was absolutely charming, our room perfect and the whole building full of character. We spent a very happy hour wandering through the extensive grounds and returned in time for an evening meal - which proved one of the highlights of our holiday. Pascal proved to be an excellent chef, and sommelier, and the French couple we shared the dining room with made it an evening never to forget.

Nothing - we should have stayed longer.

The location is superb. Pascal who is the host is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is beautiful and attention to detail in all places of the hotel is fantastic. The gardens are beautiful and are very peaceful and relaxing. We were travelling with our dog and made very welcome. Our room was beautiful and met all of our expectations. The bed was very comfortable. We also booked in for dinner. Pascal cooked dinner for us and the meal was fantastic. It was a perfect end to our day after a very long drive from Bayonne. Breakfast was very good with plenty of variety for you to choose from. We are looking forward to returning again next year. This place is so beautiful.

There is nothing we did not like. Everything was perfect.

What a find! In perfect peace in the depths of the countryside, yet very close to the autoroute, both the A10 and the A28. The location and atmosphere was fabulous, like staying in someone's private home. We particularly enjoyed our dinner, served in the magnificent dining room. Breakfast was also excellent. Before dinner we wandered round the extensive grounds and garden. We were passing through and only stayed one night, but it would make an excellent base from which to explore Tours and the Chateaux of the Loire
