The bedroom and bathroom were both bigger than average, and were very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent (although one must be aware of the short restaurant opening times during the evening). This is a tranquil place for a relaxing stay, with no traffic noises and no television.

The vinyl flooring used in the bedroom negatively affects the ambience.

Really enjoyed staying at the working convent Small and comfortable room. No TV, it is a convent. Excellent evening meal in restaurant and excellent breakfast. You need to book for the evening meal. If you time for departure better than us you can visit the Maginot Line at nearby Ouvrage du Simserhof

It is a nice place if you want to spend time in nature. Very natural trails and beautiful forests. A lot of trails with good markers. A few interesting places can be reached in the close destination, almost directly from the hotel.

If you want to visit some restaurants, then you need to travel to other villages. At the time when we were here (end of Oktober), the only working restaurant in the village was the restaurant in the hotel. And if you want to have dinner in the restaurant in the hotel you need to be ready to wait for 1h+ while you get the first dish (we have twice chosen the menu of the day and both times we were waiting for ~1h for the first dish).

Great value for money, lovely staff, great restaurant on premises. Lovely gardens! Breakfast was included which really made this a bargain.

Rooms are very basic, hostel type. No tv in rooms, however they have tv in comfortable communal rooms.

Friendly and helpful staff that spoke at least 4 languages.

A pet peeve of mine are bed frames that stick up at the feet. I like to hang my feet over the end of the bed while sleeping. So not being able to do that made me feel cramped. - A tall person.

This hotel really value for money. Clean place is place is important for me and this hotel really clean. To be ready it’s not luxury hotel, but comfortable and very clean with historical vibe.

The place is amazing, big, friendly in very nice setting. The Rooms are simple, relatively big but practical. Everything was very clean. The Staff was very friendly. The included Breakfast was a very nice Buffet, not giant but constantly refilled. The whole compound has WIFI that is working well.

There is no actual bar on site. you can get a drink (honor system) but there is little to consume in between meals.

As a travelling group of 20 in sports cars I was nervous about this hotel before arriving but I found it to be very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place itself is amazing. The food was fantastic and it was very clean. I'm not sure it was well suited to our group but I would have no problem in staying here again on a different type of trip as the location was perfect and it was very quiet.

The beds were a bit small and the rooms were very basic.

the location was perfect - just in between Bitche and Strasbourg

in the middle of summer, not having AC is a living hell. even with the windows open, it was very uncomfortable. also know that this is a nun’s convent so the church bells ring every 15 mins - you have to get used to this when trying to get some sleep.
