We stayed in the room with balcony, on the top floor. It was really nice, a bit bigger then standard in Paris. Location is perfect to discover the city- you need 20 min to reach Montmartre on foot; 20 min to reach Louvre. Metro is located in 2 min. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby. The room was very clean, sleeping was comfortable. Breakfast is proposed by the hotel though we did not take it. What else do you need in Paris? :)

Just to be aware that there is no elevator in the building. Therefore for disabled people it may be not the best choice.

How does Hotel Ernest Treated Me Upon check-in on 15/1/2025, the receptionist confirmed that my room reservation included breakfast, with service starting at 7:30 AM. However, when I went for breakfast the following day, another receptionist informed me that breakfast was not included in my booking. I was surprised, as I had booked in English and believed breakfast was part of the package. Since the reservation details were in French, I relied on my initial understanding and the screenshot of the deal I had saved. The receptionist clarified that breakfast was not included because I had not paid the additional €15. I requested a written confirmation of this, but he declined. Seeking help, I contacted my mentor, who assisted in reviewing the reservation. After about 10 minutes, I realized I had overlooked selecting the breakfast option during the booking process. The reservation system defaulted to "no breakfast," even though it displayed “exclusive breakfast” during the booking steps. I returned to the front desk, intending to pay for the breakfast. There, I met the manager, who apologized for the misunderstanding. To my surprise, he informed me that the hotel would not charge me for the two breakfasts, even though the error was mine. Despite my insistence on paying, he kindly refused and wished me a pleasant trip. On my second morning, I chose not to have breakfast and mentioned to the new receptionist at check-out that I owed for one meal. She checked the system and confirmed there was no balance due. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Hotel Ernest for their exceptional service. Their professionalism, empathy, and commitment to customer satisfaction went beyond expectations. I also hope Booking.com considers refining its interface to minimize customer confusion during the booking process. Thank you again, Hotel Ernest, for making my stay memorable. Diem Vuong

The hotel is tiny and is located inside a building, where a full vertical line belongs to it. All the stuff I engaged with was 10/10 - super helpful, cheerful and nice. They went the extra mile for me to call a shop and explain some details in French. I was also once given a charger cable as I lost one. The room is very small but very nice and clean. The bathroom is very good, with a toilet and a shower. The hotel is very clean.

One IMPORTANT thing for you to consider is that on the first floor where the reception is located, there are 3 or 4 rooms. I was given a room on this floor. The reception desk was located 6-7 meters from my door, which made me uncomfortable. I was afraid the noise from people walking or talking would distract me, but I hadn't heard anything, so from a quiet perspective, it was ok. Psychologically, it wasn't great, though. However, there is a room that is literally 2 meters away from the reception desk! So, beware!

That was exactly what I expected: a nice historic building with cozy interiors, so it feels like you're staying at your French grandma's house - that's what I wanted. A single room is not big, but it is big enough for one person and doesn't lead to a claustrophobic crisis like others. The interior is nice, and the room itself is comfortable. There's a sheet system, which took me a bit to figure out how it works, but I succeeded. And what I liked the most was the beautiful windowsill where you can sit and drink your coffee while observing the street - feels quite romantic =)

I would like more sugar and milk for the coffee, as one package of each is not enough, so I had to buy it in the store in front of the hotel. And I guess some would consider a bit of a creaky bed a disadvantage, but for me, it even straightened my "visiting French grandma's house" experience.

It’s located steps away from metro station. Very cute small hotel. I loved my single room with only one bed. Perfect for one person. There was a kettle, coffe, herbal teas to prepare. Bathroom is small, but it’s expected on this kind of hotels. Receptionist was very kind and tried his best to communicate in English. Surroundings feel safe at night for a solo female traveler.

Although the hotel sends you a message warning you about this, it’s still an issue that there’s no elevator, especially if your room is on the fourth, fifth or sixth floor. Mine was on the fourth, and although it wasn’t that terrible to go upstairs, I can’t imagine going to the fifth or sixth with luggage. Overall, it’s a pretty nice hotel.

Hotel Ernest is an easy walk from Gare du Nord (although I did not have large suitcases), and well placed to set out walking in any direction to explore Paris. I appreciated the free coffee in reception, and there was also a coffee machine in my room. The room was very comfortably appointed and a good size - I booked a single, but the room had a double bed, which was a bonus. Very clean and comfortable, and Sow in reception was incredibly friendly and helpful (thank you Sow!). I travelled very light (just a small backpack), so the absence of an elevator was not a problem. Also good to note, there is a supermarket across the street, which I found handy.

My room (103) was on the first floor - adjacent to reception. Between reception noise and some street noise (being closer to the street on the lower floor) I did find it a little noisy. This did not detract from my stay at all, but worth noting. Next time I say I will see if there is a room up a floor or two that is available.

The owners did all the organization, design, quality of of service corresponding the price. Every centimeter of the space gives you the feeling of hospitality and welcome. Keep on going like this please, finally I have a cosy place for staying in Paris. The smell of the shower gel is amazing, all is eco friendly and the choice of interior elements as well as planning solution in such a small place are amazing. Compliments!

Remember about the stairs typical for Paris, it’s absolutely not suitable if you’re traveling with heavy luggage, small children or you’re not sporty of having the health issues. However this kind of stairs are normal part of architecture and have nothing to do with the hotel. It’s clearly mentioned in the description of the property.

Very good location (ca. 15min by foot to Lafayette Gallerie). Lovely rooms (I would personally appreciate a bit more light). Coffee maker in the room (which we did not use because free coffee was available 24h at the reception). Great thanks to the reception personnel who helped us with late check out for the reasonable price (but one should better take care of that in advance because the capacity of the hotel is not so big and it could be fully booked). Breakfast area is very compact but cozy and well organized. 2 out of 3 mornings there were enough free tables, one morning we had to wait for 3min.

The only thing I would pay attention to is a gap between a shower door and floor which may cause some flood. We put a twice folded towel to avoid that. And take into account that the hotel is located in an old building without elevator. The hotel informed on that, so it was not a surprise. And they can also help with your luggage if needed.

Location is good, close to everything, lots of good restaurants and stores, very close to Metra and bus station and it's like 5 minutes' walk to Gare du Nord for Eurostar and connections to everywhere in Paris, France and international. Breakfast was ok just need more different choices and more space, no elevator but it's no big deal. People in front desk, Very welcoming and have good knowledge of the Paris and transportation questions.

Rooms are small, breakfast is only ok because of lack of choice and dining room is very small, no elevator ,no space to rest yours luggage in room, from times you can hear noise from the street but only during night.

The Hotel is in a fantastic location yet very quiet. We had the top floor suite apartment. The room was spacious, well furnished with a well designed modern bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Karim who was on the reception while we were there was outstanding. He was helpful, patient and spoke excellent english. We were informed that the property had no lift but this did not worry us despite our apartment being on level 6. We are in our mid 60's but if you have heavy luggage or are very unfit, you may want to choose a room on a lower level. Breakfasts were excellent with great variety of food to suit all tastes.

Nothing to fault.
