Great quiet hotel, traditionally charming with very lovely staff. We speak decent French and made an effort, but they do speak some English as well. We read reviews prior to coming and got a little scared, but it's nice rooms and breakfast is good. No tvs or restaurant, but we were in Paris for the Olympics so didn't really care. We had a room with a bathroom, which was on the street so a little noisy sometimes, but we took earplugs because August in Paris is always going to be hot and you are going to want the windows open. We used their dining room for dinner a few times and bought our own food in. I would stay again without hestitation. Location was fantastic for transport options and not as hectic as other bits of Paris. Room was clean and tidy and functional, bed was comfy. I'd liked not having to worry about my key when out.

Not enough pillows for me.

The area is perfect, right next to the metro and commodities but also quiet enough and with lots of green. The decoration inside the lobby is fascinating. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room was nice and tidy.

Rooms lock with actual keys to doors which you have to leave at the entrance when leaving, which I'm personally not fond of; however their 24/7 staff is always there to grant your access back. And I really hope the carpeting in the corridors is just a motif because it looked similar to mold / water damage, but the place was kept tidy.

Friendly staff. Room was spotless and clean. Bed was really comfortable. Shared facilities were modern smart and very clean. Breakfast was a great start to the day. Loved the windows which opened fully, making it feel like a balcony. Close to the Metro (Line 7), which gave me easy access to the main sites of interest around Paris. Walking distance to the Catacombs, Pantheon and Natural History Museum.

Honestly nothing I didn't like about the hotel it is lovely. My only real criticism was the plug point. There was only one, which was situated above the sink. It would be worthwhile providing an extension cable to make it more accessible. I made it work for me tho.

The staff was kind and nice, not all of them spoke english so it has been a bit hard sometimes to comunicate, but they tried their best. I liked the aesthetic of the reception, really french styled, and the position of the hotel was in an amazing zone, really connected and full of restaurants, stores and markets, but no noise disturbed us! We met with the cleaning girl and she seemed so nice as well! Its a small hotel so it will give you the "family business" vibe. They also had a locker room to live your luggage if you arrive before the check in hours and its really safe! The receptionits has been with us the whole time in the room and locked it with a key so we knew no one could even try to take our luggage while we were out!

We went in june so we expected a really fresh and cool room, sadly there was no AC and we even had a duvet on our bed, we asked to change the sheets with something lighter but unfortunely the receptionist didnt speak english. We were on level 6 so kinda of hot during the day too. Our room was actually small, but we had the opportunity to see the other rooms and they were bigger, so i'd say it was just the bad luck.

Room was nice - very clean. The location is good too, excellent transport links and it's a short walk from both the Jardin de Luxembourg and the Jardin des Plantes where there are some excellent museums. The staff were always helpful and friendly. Apart from the minor things mentioned below, it is an excellent hotel and we would definitely stay there again.

There was no kettle in the room - hot water was available from reception 24/7 but it was a bit of a nuisance to have to go there to get it. No TV in the room - but it would probably only have been French TV only, so no great loss to us. The bath set-up was a bit strange: there was a shower over the bath, but no shower screen or curtain so it wasn't really usable as a stand up shower as quite a lot of water ended up on the floor. So we just used the bath which was fine.

The staff were absolutely lovely - very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect - very good transport links with shops and cafes close by. The room was great for the price. It is a really brilliant place to stay and I highly recommend!

The only thing that wasn't so great was the coffee machine at the breakfast service - I thought the coffee wasn't good I'm afraid. The food choices for breakfast were nice but it would have been good to have had a less sugary cereal option too. The breakfast room itself was nice and, again, the staff were very friendly and kind.

Really lovely single room occupancy hotel. Perfect for a traveler on a budget like me who wanted something that was a step up from hostels but didn’t need all the amenities of a 3 star hotel. Great value for money. Very clean. Check-in was easy and they explained the shared bathroom and shower situation. The location was great for getting to all the attractions of Paris, and the neighborhood had a number of amazing cafes and restaurants of its own. I would definitely stay here again!

My only complaint is that I was across the hall from the bathroom and I could occasionally hear people use it during the night. But I wore earplugs and slept fine, despite being a light sleeper in general.

I liked everything. I suspect previous visitors have complained about the lack of toilet and shower in their room as the manager contacted me just after booking and also just before my stay to explain the situation and that showers required a 2.5 Euro token for 5 minutes which I was happy to accept. It must have been a busy time in Paris as Port Royal was cheaper than some of the hostels. I had a room to myself with a double bed (nice clean sheets and pillows), although some of the rooms I noticed had singles. It was a good sized room with a cupboard, wash basin, bedside table and a window that opened. It was quite a comfortable room. There are toilets on each floor and showers I think on 2 and 6. It’s not a large hotel and I had no trouble accessing those facilities when I needed them, and they were modern and clean. For me the 5 minute shower was ample time. The first time I felt like I had to use the full 5 minutes, while the second time I turned off the shower before time was up. There is a Metro station about 50 metres up the street.

The perfect traditional Paris hotel, still family run and very affordable. We had a room on the 5th floor (there is a modern lift and also stairs if you prefer), great views looking out over the neighbourhood, and the windows seal well, so noise is minimal. The room was ideal and the ged was super comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and had a deep bath (plenty of instant hot water), toilet and shower over bath were clean and without fault. The housekeeping team did a great job and the room was cleaned every day, along with a generous supply of fresh towels. The staff were wonderful, always friendly and helpful, band had very good English. There is a 24 hour desk and the whole hotel is very secure. The location in the Latin Quarter is amazing, you can see the metro station from the hotel, so transport is always super easy, lots of wonderful cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance and plenty of local shops nearby. This is a truly genuine and beautiful part of Paris and not overloaded with tourists. Definitely stay here again.

Nothing at all, the hotel exceeded our expectations.
