Transportation: Walking distance to several different metro stations (St Marcel, Nationale, Les Gobelins, Austerlitz). Bus stops in front of the hotel. Food: Didn't go for food at the hotel as there are loads of cafes, restaurants, shops around. I had authentic french breakfast (excellent pressed orange and capuccino) from 2 different cafes. From main street Saint Marcel to the adjacent Les Gobelins, to the smaller streets, there are loads of shops and food choices! Hotel: To be honest, the design is not me, red is not my favourite colour. But as they say, don't judge a book by it's cover! The concierge is very friendly. Commendations to Camille for being so lovely, accommodating and very friendly! She makes the hotel feel like a home away from home. They offer me coffee if I woke up late and their cafe is closed. The lift is very small, but everywhere in Paris are small! It's my first time in Paris so I got surprised a bit. The room is also small, but it's a single room, what do you expect. There was a good working quick drying hair dryer (very important!), there was a kettle (never used), they replenish small water bottles every day. Although I did buy additional water from a shop nearby. For sleeping away from my house, I slept great! The mattress was very comfy! I use an orthopaedic mattress at home, I don't know if their mattress is orthopaedic but it didn't hurt my back at all! I didn't request any special mattress. The shower is superb! They have a rain shower and one that you can detach from the wall. Water pressure is strong! Their toilet flushes very well! For Parisian summer months, airconditioning is a must, and their airconditioner works very well! Quickly cools the room, the control is not dodgy, the temperature is easily adjustable and working well. In summary, it provided me a comfortable haven in the middle of the city during a very hot, humid, rainy holiday. Kept me freshened up and provided great sleep!

A dressing table with mirror in the room will help, so I have a different table for tea and my cosmetics. Also the chair in their room could be swapped to a comfortable one. It is not very nice for lounging, not even seating.

We were pleasantly surprised that our double room came with a small balcony overlooking the boulevard. Was extra special to have some wine on the balcony. The bottled water and renovated bathrooms were great. You need to shimmy a bit to get around the room and bathroom, but was no problem at all. Glad to have a small room in the city, rather than space on the periphery. Staff was super attentive and friendly. I left my luggage at the hotel mid-morning, and the reception offered me complimentary coffee before I headed off to enjoy the city before the room was ready. That wasn't expected, but a really nice gesture. Plenty of convenient groceries, bodegas, and bistros nearby. Gare Austerlitz is within walking distance, and don't miss out on having some late-night wine and snacks at the nearby Square Saint-Medard (we enjoyed Cave La Bourgogne), at the base of the markets Rue Mouffetard. We also enjoyed some great Vietnamese food closer to Place d'Italie. We were able to walk to the Luxembourg Gardens and back, even in the rain, so you can fully enjoy the 5th Arron. during a stay in this hotel. I'll definitely be back to this great-value hotel.

Nothing, the stay was great.

Hotel Saint Marcel is conveniently located near "Campo-Formio" metro, along the orange line. Paris is best explored on foot, to enjoy its quaint walkway and community. Apart from the room being a tad small, the view and amenities of the place are wonderful and the staff running the hotel is friendly and trustworthy. I would highly recommend this hotel!

The room is a tad small with minimal walk space but it definitely makes up for coziness and after all, you should be out on the streets and not coop up in the room.

Very good location with 2 metro lines, busses and basically super easy access to the whole city. Around the corner you can rent a city bike. Clean and calm neighbourhood. When it comes to the place itself. Very comfortable bed, room small but cozy and we had a great view! Very clean, quite modern styling of the room. Housekeeping did a good job, small but tasteful breakfast. Staff in the hotel super friendly and very helpful! I highly recommend Hotel Saint-Marcel, thanks for a lovely stay!

The only flaw we've found was the leaking from the shower, when you are getting out it was a lot of water but this I think can be an easy fix and it didn't influence our stay at all!

Small but very comfortable room. We were lucky enough that we had a little balcony where we could enjoy a cup of tea in the evening.

We had a wet floor in the room which was frustrating and was late night to go to reception and tell them. The last day breakfast which was on Monday 3 July, we had our breakfast but with a horrible and very rude staff(a woman) walking around, she looked so unhappy and when we asked for something she was like puffing around, obviously goddess know what she had in her mind. There were flies around on top of the bread too. Very disappointed because it was 10 and we had to finish our coffee so she came and send us out, I had to pick up a take away cup and finish my coffee in the room.

The location was great. Close to the bus and métro stations. Within a walk distance also to the train station. The room was clean and with a nice view. You could feel the Paris vibe. Breakfast was good. There are not a lot of options, but anyone can find something to eat.

There is not really a restaurant where to take 5 but the lobby is used as a restaurant for the breakfast and can be quite small if everybody goes to take breakfast at the same time. However, we did not have issues in finding a place, but seen others that had to wait for a couple of minutes.

Spotlessly clean, quiet, some staff very nice and responsive, nice view from the French balconies. We stayed in a family suite so there was plenty of space and a nice partition of the room

One lady from the breakfast staff was extremely rude, initially told us and another couple that we don't have breakfast included when we clearly did. Also when we asked for more coffee as the pot was empty, she brought it and smashed it on the table and left. Clearly this lady should not work in the hospitality industry! A fridge/ mnibar in the room would be useful.

I really loved that the room was very clean, there were even some usefull little thigs needed for a comfort stay (like some cotton pads/sticks, soap, shower gel, good hairdryer, tea and coffe with a little electric kettle. The furniture and deisgn of the room is very cozy and relaxing. Regarding location, I could either walk to the metro for 4-7 minutes, or walk to the city center for about half an hour when I had time. There is a nice plants park right next to the hotel with a very beautiful view on Seine. There are also some nice cozy restaurants and late shops around, in case you get hungry.

The only weird thing was the entrance door. I could not enter/exit the hotel by myself at any time, and I really did not want to disturb the staff late at night, except when I had to check out and leave to the airport at 4 a.m of course. (I used to work in a hotel myself and no normal person should stay awake 24/7, so it is ok if the staff was currently taking a nap!). It would be nicer to have either a personal key/chip or some code to get into the hotel without supervision/staff's help. Even during the day you have to ring the bell or wait for the staff to open the door, which is a little bit unneccessary.

The location is convenient to metro and with all sorts of places to it close by. I like that it wasn't too touristy and felt more like a neighborhood which is what I was going for. The continental breakfast was nice: breads, pastries, fruit, etc. The coffee was just what I needed to get me going in the morning. I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful.

While it wasn't a complete turnoff I did have ants in my room. I made sure to keep my suitcase off the floor using the luggage rack and shook things off before repacking.

It was a great place near the center; the only important problem was the room dimensions (a little bit claustrophobic). overall I recommend the St Marcel Hotel.
