Hotel donibane is extremely tranquil despite its location in a busy area. The staff are always exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are basic but the bed extremely comfortable and large. An excellent heating system and a large heated towel rail in the bathroom. The shower is efficient and powerful. Wifi good. The gardens are large and beautiful with facilities for outdoor dining or coffee. The large heated swimming pool with lovely sun terrace is a huge bonus. The restaurant is absolutely excellent with beautifully presented high quality food on offer for breakfast and dinner

No tea/coffee making facilities

The receptionist gave us a warm welcome and a larger room than we had booked. The room was comfortable and quiet. The restaurant had an excellent menu and wine list.

We had a problem in the restaurant having requested our venison steak to be served "a-point" (medium) and it arrived overcooked and tough. The restaurant agreed to take it back and serve less well-done steaks but, initially, were not very happy about this, insisting that "a-point" meant well done in that part of France! However, it all ended well.

Friendly staff, good breakfast. The hotel had a gym which we didn't use and a pool with a pleasant surrounding pool area but unfortunately we didn't get the weather to use it! Ample onsite free parking.

You need a car or use a bus to get to St Jean centre. Ours was a last minute booking however we requested a double bed on Booking.com because it gave us the option but the hotel said they didn't have one available. My issue here is more with Booking.com as they shouldn't have given us the option to ask for a double bed.

Hotel restaurant Donibane is next to a Renault garage and opposite Lidl but it is absolutely quiet and tranquil. The gardens are beautiful, the large heated outdoor pool an wonderful facility. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. The restaurant was absolutely excellent and the vegetarian option - a spicy wok -one of the best I have ever had. The bedrooms are clean, comfortable and modern with fairly basic facilities but quite adequate for a short stay

The hotel is brilliant and a real find.Although at check in roads were busy there was no noise overnight and all became quiet. The room was vèry comfortable and clean. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom clean. The hotel has it's own restaurant and after choosing to dine there yound many locals used it also. The endorsement by locals using it was well justified. The food was lovely and the surroundings very relaxing after a long day travelling. A gem of a hotel which I highly recommend.

The breakfast was incredible. Rooms are very clean, large and our bathroom was very spacious. The restaurant is also very good. A great plus is that it accepts pets, though we didn't visit with our dog this time. We had a nice and calm stay.

There's nothing we didn't like.

Comfortable and interesting with a good bar and restaurant

Not a dislike but it is located opposite Lidl on a roundabout, so, not exactly picturesque. That said, it is in its own grounds and is very well located on the edge of the town. We walked into the centre by the scenic route in 30 mins.

Absolutely lovely experience. Realising we would be arriving quite late on a Sunday I contacted this hotel and asked what time their restaurant closed. Got an immediate charming reply assuring us they would be open until 9 and saying they would wait for us. We got there at 8.30 to a very warm welcome and a delicious meal. The restaurant was not expensive and the food was excellent. Our lovely hostess who was working extremely hard manning reception as well as serving in the restaurant could not have been more friendly and helpful. She even brought us a bowl of fabulous home cooked chips 'just in case we would have preferred them' . Our room was small but very clean and comfortable. A nice touch was a couple of chocolates and also complimentary chilled water in the mini bar. The bathroom was again spotless and there was a large walk in shower with good water pressure and nice toiletries. In the morning an equally charming man checked us out and again was friendly and helpful as we were leaving he gave us a couple of bottle of chilled water for the journey. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay and I would most definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Location just off the motorway way we arrived with our 2 dogs and we were all made welcome it was New Year’s Day and the evening meal was excellent

Room was a bit small as they knew in advance we were travelling with 2 medium sized dogs would have gladly payed more for a bigger room

Our children loved the pool and it has a beautiful outside space and garden. The food was AMAZING. I had one of the best steaks I have ever eaten.

The rooms are small and it is in quite an industrial area of the city. However, we chose it for its close proximity to the airport which was only 15 mins away, so that was very convenient.
