The location is unbeatable. Smack in the middle of the prettiest village of the Romantic Rhine Valley. The top floor "suite" is quite big and comfortable. The manager helped with the bags and provided water. Price was very good for the area.

As others pointed out, stairs and more stairs. We were at the top, so we only came down when we were actually going out for good. The bathroom has no door, only a curtain. Light enters very early in the morning, no blackouts, and some things could be added, like an electric kettle to make coffee and not depend on the town's bakery.

The location is perfect, we could not have asked for a better spot to stay, everything is around you and has such charm, The hotel was quiet and has old school character which we really enjoyed, such things as the low lighting and old stairs that makes a small noise, it is a great little time capsule! The staff are super friendly and breakfast was perfect, please take the time to enjoy the breakfast room with your coffee before taking in the beautiful town, time slows down a bit and its certainly great!

Late in the evening/night cars that pass by the hotel you can hear coming from a long way off due to the cobblestone roads, People in the street that are talking does eco up through the streets, this is all expected really in such a place of small streets, but worth a mention for people who are light sleepers!

Bacharach seems little known to US and UK tourists, but is a gem of a medieval town on the banks of the Rhine. The people are very friendly and the atmosphere of the town feels like stepping back 500 years. The Hotel is central and can't be faulted for the quality of the rooms and breakfast. There are nice considerate touches like books left out for guests. If you are thinking of visiting the Rhineland, definitely consider this hotel and town.

Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff.

The door was locked when we arrived and signage outside the building made it seem that the owners were away and we would need to do self check-in. Turns out they were there and they did quickly see the message I sent requesting help. Also there was an unmarked doorbell on the side of the door that we did not recognize (as Americans.) Also, the steep stairwell was very dark.

The location was fantastic, right on the main street, and directly across from a yummy doner kabab shop. The staff was SO kind and helpful and the family room was a great size for eating our breakfast or watching a movie together. Everything was clean. The bathroom was small but the shower was very nice, and the beds were comfortable.

Lovely host, room was clean and as expected, price wise it's too expensive for what it has to offer but other hotels in the area are even more so, offering less, so we were pleased with this one. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Small room for the price, even smaller bathroom with no window. No parking place, but there's a big public parking space right next to the old town, by the river, which is cheap (4€ for a full day, otherwise free after 18:00 until morning).

We enjoyed the generous breakfast. The location was perfectly centered in the town. Near the train. And we rented bikes and rode up and down the Rhine on a very easy to use path. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any requests.

A lot of early morning traffic flows through the internal city roads, so your morning sleep will get disturbed.

I loved the balcony on the room with a view of Burg Stahleck. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a very good deal for such a lovely location.

Some guests might have difficulty with the steep stairs, since it is a historic building without an elevator.

Hotel’s partners (laundry service, prescheduled taxi) did not honor the prices the hotel set for us. Not a big deal as it was only 10% in each case, but it was disappointing. Not on hotel staff, but hotel mgmt needs to know.
