The breakfast is excellent. The late check in was very simple. I just typed a password into a box and my key was dispensed, i never seen that before! The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was great. The outside of the hotel looks great, and it has excellent views of the surrounding area. The receptionist was insightful and informative. The cost to quality ratio is impressive. 80 euros for a fantastic stay Highly recommend.

Very small critique: When i booked the room it said I will have a balcony and I was assuming the balconies face the river/town, but there are also balconies in the back with little to no view. So just note that though it says balcony, it doesnt mean you will have a good view. Initially, I thought the location was bad as it is about 10 minute walk from the main city, but this location allows you to see the city and the castle, so its totally worth it.

When we arrived we were greeted at reception by a lovely lady called Claudia. During our stay she was always so cheerful and helpful and she is a true asset to the hotel. Our room was on the second floor and had a balcony with wonderful views across the river and of the castle. Breakfast was great with an excellent choice of all sorts of food and drinks. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the town and a walk to the castle took about 35 minutes and was well worth the effort. We took the castle tour and were given an English translation sheet but later found out that there are tours in English available. We would not hesitate to return to the hotel and also recommend it to others.

I generally like such places because they are traditional German gasthof. The staff was really really helpful. The lady on the reception was really nice and helpful. The breakfast was quite good and the room was clean. The location was a nearby city center(by walking 15-20minutes). I parked my car to the behind of the otel. On Sunday you can park also Penny's parking spot. If you know Cochem, you also know that it is quite diffucult to find a parking spot.

Well the room has 2 seperate beds, but I remembered that I ordered 1 double bed. However, that was not a big issue.

A very smart attractive hotel inside and out. Lovely comfortable rooms. Our rear room with balcony was quiet, well furnished and comfortable though the 'mountain view' faced some nearby houses and car park. The receptionist was lovely though unsuccessful in trying to overcome our booking confusion and was very helpful in giving us advice on local travel etc. Breakfast was good and could be taken indoors or on the balcony facing the river (and road!)

Adverts show the hotel front with balconies. We booked a room with a balcony only to find it was a balcony at the rear. Maybe I missed something but I don't think so. The only front room available was at a significant added cost, however, besides wonderful views, it overlooks the very nearby main road. It is about a 20 minute walk into Cochem with virtually no meal or drinks services nearby except a wine bar/garden which was closed at the time.

The really friendly welcome from the receptionist and the beautiful room with incredible views from the balcony. The breakfast was superb and it was nice to eat it outdoors on the sun terrace overlooking the river.

Nothing significant. We were lucky that we arrived just before 6pm before reception closed. We were unaware the front door would close so early in the evening therefore that could have been an issue if we had been caught up in traffic.

Claudia was an exceptional host, with really good English. Always ready to do whatever she could to improve our stay. We left early on our last day, and she had prepared a really good breakfast bag to take with us. Breakfasts were great throughout our stay. Just a pleasant 15-20 minute walk along the riverbank to the centre of town.

The bathroom was a bit small, though it was perfectly clean and modern, and had all that was needed. Being a back room, the view wasn't great, but we only used the room for sleeping in, so not a problem. Really, there was nothing to fault.

Spotlessly clean. Modern amenities. Very helpful and friendly staff. River-facing balcony, with fantastic views of Cochem. Perfect location, being a 5 minute walk along the river from the town centre. Very good breakfast on the river-facing terrace.

Nothing. Would, and probably will, happily return. The only reason I didn't give 10/10 was because there's no elevator. Apart from that, everything was super.

We booked "a room with river view" and got a very lovely, spotless clean and modern room with a spacious balcony overlooking the river and castle. Very good breakfast. Extremely friendly service. Convenient location, 10 minutes walk to Cochem.

No lift but that was not a problem for us.

Very friendly host, super cute hotel close to the city center. With (paid) parking spots per hotel room available. Decent breakfast that you can eat on the terrace outside with a beautiful view of the river.

Not really a complaint but the shower and bathroom were very small. There’s also no airco, for which they do warn you ahead of time, but there was a powerful fan in the room.

This is simply an excellent hotel. It’s a short walk from the centre of town. The room was impeccably clean with very modern features. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was exceptional with plenty of choice- probably the best we’ve seen in a hotel in Germany. I would without question stay here again if I were to return. To Cochem.
