An excellent family run hotel within a short walk of Cochem town centre. Reception on arrival was 1st class, room was basic but clean and tidy. breakfast was excellent, plenty of fresh good quality choice. Plenty of free parking available, with our host offering for us to leave the car parked in the hotel car park well after our checking out time. An absolute delight. The hotel undersells itself from the outside and location to a busy roundabout but don't be put off its a gem.

There are many choice of food for breakfast and the landlord take good care of every customers. The room is very clean and well maintained. The rooms with balcony have great view of the Mosel and the Cochem castle, especially the corner room #3. There are plenty of space for parking. After a day of visits you can enjoy a beer and snack (curry wurst, hamburger, ...) in the hotel garden (close at 6PM)

Great location away from the noise of Cochem yet close enough to walk there. Quiet room with comfortable bed. The room was small and so was the bathroom but comfortable bed and great water pressure in the shower. EXCELLENT breakfast and friendly staff.

Small room and small bathroom. It appears they had a bar as I saw bottles but the bar was not open in the evening which would have been nice.

We stayed at the Hotel for one night as a stop on our way further south. Super friendly and Professional staff! Clean and comfortable rooms! The breakfast was good, the local jam delicious and simply amazing service to be asked what kind of eggs we would like! There is free parking on the premises as well. It takes approximately 10 - 20 minutes to walk to town, depending how fast you walk, however it is a very nice pedestrian path along the Mosel

Very friendly & accommodating staff. Solved small issues immediately. We were not missing anything. Good breakfast options. Clean room with view to Cochem Castle (see picture). Very good place to stay for exploring Cochem and surroundings.

Stumbergers is a traditional guest house (gasthof), not a modern hotel. It has an air of authenticity, a bit modest yet very comfortable rooms. The host is exceptionally nice - a very hard working fellow - morning to night. There is a nice biergarten adjacent run by the hotel - very nice. It's very close to Cochem yet a mile or so from the hustle - good. We had a traditional & comfortable room, comfortable beds, and a small balcony well furnished. Parking is included & convenient. No elevator. No air conditioning. Breakfast was traditional German lacking nothing, with a breakfast room with a view & richly furnished in traditional fashion. The only reason I booked it was Cochem was virtually sold-out for this date (wine festival). I usually look for the best hotel I can find. Yet I can recommend Stumbergers & would gladly stay here again. All the hotels in Cochem are on the pricy side for Germany, so I wouldn't call this a bargain, but pricing is consistent with others. I suppose for Cochem it's somewhat reasonably priced. Equivalent hotels in most other towns would go for $30-40-50 less. I highly recommend if you're looking for a genuine, down-to-earth, comfortable gasthof.

With realistic expectations for a traditional gasthof there is little not to like. If I remember correctly coffee came from a machine & those machines are never too good.

The staff were very nice, and also helpful when we had questions. We loved the breakfasts. We especially loved the fact that each morning the host asked everyone personally if they wanted an egg, and if so, how they wanted it (boiled, scrambled or baked). The room was very nice and we had a beautiful view of the Reichsburg from our room.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and well prepared. The owner was really nice and made me very welcome. The breakfast was great and the location perfect for a short walk into Cochem. The parking for my motorcycle was also perfect on flat ground and undercover. Very safe indeed.

As there is no evening bar or facilities to get a drink I think it only right to have a kettle and drink sachets available in the room.

Friendly and helpful owners,10 minute walk to town centre.Lovely breakfast with a choice of cooked egg.Snackbar open most days. This was the second visit in a 3 week tour or Europe and so pleased I chose this place again for my final 2 nights,I had a room overlooking the castle again but a bit smaller than the first visit but still a good size for a single room.The owner once again moved his car so I could park my motorbike under the canopy.If I get the chance to tour again I'll definitely be staying here.
