Excellent breakfast - so much choice - excellent coffee! - lovely restaurant - great evening menu, very good value, recommend the local wines. Extremely comfortable room - we were upgraded to a suite with a balcony and penthouse view which was unexpected. Being mother and son we needed 2 separate beds which the bedroom had - but a bit too close for comfort, more of a couple's choice. The staff were extremely helpful, explaining that the sofas in the lounge converted to beds; additional bedlinen was brought up and one of them was made up. Not just 2 beds but 2 rooms! (More a Booking.com issue than a hotel issue - I have often thought it would be good to explain the reason for twin beds, so that guests' needs can be better communicated to the Hotel.) The staff speak good English but please note that this is a traditional hotel and notices tend to be in German; also the restaurant menu - so brush up your German, ask for help or use your phone translator. The Hotel is in a quiet area (you may or may not like this - it was a factor in my choice). There is a large garden behind the hotel - mountain views; also a sauna - not tried but it is included. A small car park is opposite the hotel (which we used) but there is apparently also an underground car park - cannot advise on this so better ask when you arrive, or ask for more information in advance. The no. 14 bus into the city stops outside the hotel (50m to your left as you leave the hotel, same side; this was a relocation from immediately outside and might be permanent or temporary, not clear). 1 all-day travel card for 2 people costs 9.5 Euros at time of writing but there are other options if staying longer - you need cash to pay the driver. (There is a bank opposite the Hotel with cashpoints in the foyer). It's about a 20-minute trip. Buses leave 2-3 times per hour. Hope this helps.

This is an excellent hotel on the outskirts of Freiburg, clean, well appointed with it's own restaurant and bar plus a nice garden to the rear. It has underground and off street parking facilities, important for us motorcyclists. It's out of the city centre but you can get into Frieburg in half an hour by bus, or ten minutes by taxi. Limited eateries nearby but there is a good pizzeria about 400 metres away. Well placed for the Schwarzwald on one side, or either the Vosges or Alsace to the West.

Our only gripe was the Freiburg traffic. If you want to go to Titissee or elsewhere in the Schwarzwald you need to plan your route well. Easier to head West to the Rhine and France.

Great breakfast and lovely staff. Location was very good for accessing motorways and a bus outside the door for Freiburg. Very good supermarket across road for supplies. Parking across road. Nice pizzeria 10 minute walk down the road. Turn left from door and walk down them on other side of road with steps to door.

No tea or coffee facilities in room. Bar was a walk through space rather than separate relaxing zone. There was no free bus pass even though the site said there was. Only 2;50 into town.

We asked for a quiet room and were allocated one. Peaceful view of hills towards the Black Forest. Ample free parking across the road. Bus stop into Freiburg in front of hotel. Ladies at reception were friendly and most helpful....excellent ! Dinner served promptly, no waiting. 2 coffee machines at breakfast. Would certainly return here in the future.

No mineral water in the room, although there was a mini bar. Asked in advance for 2 pillows, but only one provided. (Quickly resolved tho´). Being served fridge cool salad at dinner. Inattentive waiters...preferred talking to local or well known guests. Breakfast was confusing at first. One morning scrambled egg but no bacon. Next morning, no boiled eggs. Charming lady responsible later explained, the supplier hadn´t been. Problem solved. Simple communication !

The staff were super nice and welcoming. Everybody was friendly through out my whole stay, including the cleaning personal. It really helped me feel welcome and at home after a long drive. And I really liked the bed! The pillows and blankets were perfect!

In a way it's a little bit old (fashion) style hotel, not perse a bad thing, but that's good to know.

Parking across the hotel was practical. Breakfast was very good. The room was clean and comfortable.

One of the two receptionists we met during our stay didn't speak English, so that wasn't very easy for check-in, but we managed. The window was open when we entered the room. On a very cold winter day, this wasn't so nice but the room heated up quickly so in the end, we managed to sleep in a warm room.

Large comfortable hotel within walking distance of Freiburg. Room was big with a large bathroom and good shower. Reception staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent, although the dining area felt a little cramped.

The hotel bar was a bit soulless and there was limited choice of restaurants or bars in the immediate neighbourhood.

The location is quite far away from the city's (Freiburg) centre, where I participated in a workshop. However, there is a reliable bus line to the central station.

Good location and pleasant staff. Pleasant and good atmosphere and delicious dinner. Private and secure parking in the underground car park.

The underground car park was small and we had to park one night at the entrance to the car park. At the same time, their staff car (s) were parked in the parking place.
