We had a nice lunch with white wine, frankfurters with potato salad in the living room at the enormous fireplace. All good and very attentive service. We booked the cheapest rooms and got two very different ones. One more modest to the back in the attic with a small window and one partly to the garden with a grand window. Great breakfast buffet, but somewhat bland scrambled eggs. Staff very helpful and friendly - like in a private Club.
In such a grand house one would appreciate one more area for guests. The great library room facing the garden was obviously used as storage after a big dinner. This was really a pity as it left only the front fireplace room as a common room.

We stopped here during our drive through Germany, seeking a touch of luxury on the road, and we were not disappointed. The place was absolutely beautiful, the room was spotless and comfortable, and there was ample parking available. A lovely bonus was the little treats and a cozy little bed for our dog. The premises also offered a nice area for a relaxing walk. Since we were only staying for one night as part of a long drive, we wanted a convenient place to eat and have a drink. The bar exceeded our expectations with fantastic cocktails and a very friendly bartender.
Unfortunately, the restaurant fell a bit short. While the food was alright, it felt a little too simple for the price (we had seasonal pastas). On the bright side, the wine recommendation by the staff was great. If the restaurant offered better value for money, this would be a place I’d gladly stay at for an extended visit.

This is our second time staying at the Schlosshotel. We got a room with a view and a little seating area which was amazing. We loved being able to spend time in the entry lounge in front of the fireplace. It was decorated very beautifully for the holidays. For us, staying at the hotel is a retreat from the city. The grounds are quiet and beautiful to walk around. Parking is convenient and plentiful. The food, including breakfast, was delicious. We will continue to stay here whenever we come to Frankfurt.
No major improvement points.

Breakfast was superb and included the option of having your eggs freshly made the way you liked them. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms palatial, and the beds comfortable -- we slept like babies. The staff were very friendly and relaxed, which is notable in view of the fact that this really is a grand place. That matters, since you don't want to feel as if you have to live up to some sort of super-standard of upper-class elegance. The sole ambition of the staff seemed to be that you should be happy and comfortable and simply enjoy the place. And we did.
The only restaurant option available at the hotel was a fine-dining operation which was extremely expensive -- the cheapest set menu for dinner was 120 EUR per person without wine! But there was no need to eat there. We discovered the excellent Schuetzenhof in the village of Kronberg and had delicious meals there three evenings in a row. The walk there and back, a distance of just under 2 kilometres, was excellent exercise, though I wish we'd brought a torch -- the street lighting was poor. I should add that heating and air conditioning does appear to be an issue at Kronberg, as other travellers have pointed out. I imagine south-facing rooms might get very hot in a summer heatwave.

Hello everyone! Staying at this hotel is like stepping into history. Read about it first and adjust your expectations, especially when comparing it to full-scale 5-star hotels. For us personally they met all expectations. The Schloss belonged to a daughter of Queen Victoria of Britain. I believe there are very few castle hotels in Europe that can match this experience. The hotel pleasantly surprised us with a bottle of Riesling for my partner's birthday, even though we hadn't asked for it. The hotel has EV charging station in the parking area. I've visited many castle hotels in Europe, to my mind its in Top 3, I've been to if not number one, mostly because of wau effect due to its history, richnes of art in corridors of the hastle, many authentic furniture.
Maybe hotel restaurant could set an ambition or change concept inviting a michelin chief to reach the 1* star status, but it's up to hotel to decide. We were happy with the food. Not breathtaking or wau but was at a good level. DIinner 8 out 10

We stayed during the Christmas holiday. The Christmas dinner was delicious on both evenings, but I cannot say the same for the wine selection. Since the weather was bad, there wasn't much to do outside, and we had a bit of a hard time during the day because it was difficult to find a place in front of the fireplace, but overall it had a charming atmosphere. The staff we met face-to-face at the hotel was very respectful and helpful.
It is difficult to say the same thing about the staff who contacted us before our stay because I cannot say that they were very polite, they expected an immediate response from us regarding the dinner menu, but when we responded a little late, they said that they were full and we could not eat. Then, after some insistence, he said a table was available and reserved it. It made us a little stressed before the holiday.

Where should I begin?!! EVERYTHING was just perfect, the hotel looks as if it was takeout of a fairy tale 🧚🏻♀️ the rooms are neat and beautiful with a lot of space including a huge bathroom. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of food to choose from and everything was tasty and fresh. Above all the staff of the hotel are all very nice willing to help ,and serve at all times. Thank you for an unforgettable stay🙏🏼🫶

This hotel is exceptional. From the art to the interior, you can feel the history woven into the walls. Staff were professional, courteous and really treat you very well. Food was also amazing as well as the breakfasts.
Dont want to really criticise a beautiful place like this but have to say a couple of things. The rooms were very hot (October) so we had to open the windows which was unexpected. Please also replace the hairdressers - holding it was like doing weights in the gym as well as having to consistently hold the 'ON' button - was exhausting.

Hotel is essentially historic castle and we felt we were invited castle guests. Exceptional services by staffs and breakfast was top notch. Property has its own rose garden. And ample parking (free) was really awesome. I think if you stay here, you will probably need a car.
Because the hotel is in the middle of golf course, I think I heard lawn mower and blower noise early morning when the window is open. I think coffee maker in each room would be nice.

The grounds and the castle are magnificent. The furnishings were also magnificent, like a museum. This was our second stay at the hotel. Definitely don't miss the rose gardens or walking around the grounds in the morning and dusk. They are beautiful.
The bed was a bit too firm. Our first stay at the hotel in 2017 was met with a drink at the front desk & an employee offering to give us a private tour of the hotel. He showed me around rooms that were not open all the time. It was fabulous! This trip, they asked for 210 Euro if I wanted a tour. Also a conference was going on so whereas in 2017 it was a quaint hotel, it now seemed to be more commercialized. I don't blame them, but I was a bit disappointed. Still a lot to see just walking the hallways. Car needed to get around the area.
