The hotel's location is excellent. Right next to Syntagma square, therefore walking distance to Syntagma tube station. Furthermore, all famous landmarks are within walking distance like the Museum of the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Monastiraki, Plaka, Thiseio, Ermou street (the most famous high street of Athens). The National Garden is right across the hotel, highly recommended for a stroll and then carry on down to Zapeion or even to the Panathinaikon stadium. Last but not least, the tram line passes right in front of the hotel, albeit slow it offers a nice opportunity to travel down to the southern suburbs of Athens, like Faliro and Glyfada (Athens riviera). The Greek Parliament is also situated down the road from the hotel, which means that this area is very safe! The hotel has an agreement with a car park on Xenofontos street right next to the hotel (there is an additional charge per day), which is very convenient if you are renting a car. The breaksfast was very good too, with a lot of choices.

Nothing that I can think of

We spent 5 days walking and discovering the centre of Athens and I think you can spend another 5 days and still not see everything.

People smoking when you are eating. Indoor or out it makes no difference. Others should not have to breathe in the smoke.

The hotel is great value for the money. We got upgraded to a corner suite without even asking. THE highlight for us was breakfast. The variety and amount of food is the best I've had in Europe. And even if you arrive towards the end of the breakfast time, nothing ever "ran out", it was always stocked and warm. We ate enough to skip lunch ! Housekeeping always had the room made up by early afternoon (we stopped by the hotel every afternoon for a break from sightseeing, that's how accessible it is). The carpeting was cleaned daily and very comfortable to walk on. The bathroom fixtures are modern and great working condition (better than in my own home). You are definitely getting your money's worth for the price you pay. 10 out of 10 in all categories. I would stay here again for sure.

Nothing. We had a perfect stay.

I'd like to thank all the reception staffs, names Julia,Panagiota, Stavros, Panagiotis and breakfast room staffs. They are very friendly, kind and performed wonderfully hospitality service. Hotel and room are very clean.Airport Bus service X95 is near by the hotel.Location is perfect. By walking distance you can go to Syntagma square,Ermou shopping street,Monastiraki,Old town beautiful Plaka and Acropolis. There are 2 trams in front of the hotel operating every 15 minutes to the lovely sea side beaches area name "Gylfada." You can find a lot of nice restaurants, cafes, pub around the hotel.

The hotel was wonderful. The room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The view from our room was amazing. It overlooked the national park which was so nice and peaceful to walk through. The breakfast was great with a large variety to choose from. The location was incredible. Walking distance to most of the attractions and fantastic shopping. The staff were awesome and very helpful. When we arrived early our room was ready and they accommodated us with a late check-out. They couldn't have been more helpful. I highly recommend the Amalia Hotel and I would definitely stay there again if I return to the beautiful city of Athens.

I liked everything about the hotel

Our stay was exceptional!!! We received a very generous upgrade which absolutely made our trip. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect location close to the Acropolis, Syntagma Square, Parliament House, Monastiraki (Ermou Road). The breakfast offered a huge variety of foods. The hotel has a feeling of history with a modern touch. We stayed here when we first landed in Athens and again at the end of our 5 week trip. I highly recommend thr Amalia Hotel and look forward to returning.

+ Perfect location that is a 2 min walk to the Syntagma Square and Hellenic Parliament (where the change of guards takes place) + Staff is very kind and smiling. They show they care and want to help. + Room size is pretty good and the balcony has a nice view to the National Gardens + Breakfast is good with wide selection of options + It is always a nice service to get help to bring your luggage up to your room. A definite plus.

- Although it did not bother us, the room shows some signs of aging. For instance, the AC system is a bit out-dated (but perfectly functional!). The hotel will likely go through a modernization wave within the next few years. - The baby cot the hotel made available in our room had an iron skeleton. The way it is constructed, there is a big risk that your little one can hit his/her forehead especially if you have an active baby. We ended up not using the cot and that was fine for us as our little person likes to sleep between us. My recommendation to the hotel would be to procure lighter and safer baby cots. - The mattress was old and not very comfy.

Stuff is really helpful, polite, pleasent, they resolved every problem that we had, especially with parking stuff in little street nearby because hotel has a contract with that parking so you can come by your own car. Breakfast was excellent, with variety of food, sweet and savory. Room itself is pretty decent size if we don't count small bathroom and closet. Location of this hotel is the greatest thing of all, because it is literally on Syntagma square and you can go anywhere by foot. Across the street are 2 kiosks that are open 24h. And when they open a roof top terrace after reconstruction that is ongoing, it would be one of the greatest places in town since the view is stunning on Acropolis, Syntagma square and Lycabettus hill (stuff took us there just to take a peek 🙂 ).

Bathroom is really small, literally no space for 2 adult people to be there in same time. There was one closet in our room but with not enough space for our stuff and safe deposit locker inside closet wasn't working. Also, they could clean rooms a bit better, they did changed our towels every day but the floors should be whiped, if not everywhere everyday than in bathroom since there were many hairs on the floor.
