This property was amazing! I highly recommend staying here. We initially weren’t staying here but we had to switch our dates around a few months before our trip and our initial hotel was not available. It was 100% a blessing in disguise and I’m so thankful it worked out this way. If we ever come back to Athens we will be staying here. The room was clean and very nice. The staff was so kind and helpful. They really went above and beyond. The breakfast was very good and filling, which is so important before running around Athens. - There is an incredible view of the Acropolis. The pictures don’t do it justice honestly. It was so amazing just to look out the window and see this historical marvel. There is a really large patio attached to the room that faces the Acropolis as well. - The hotel is located on the less busy side of the Acropolis (the city forms a circle around it). We did not realize this when we booked it but it was actually so nice. It is a short walk into Plaka and the Square with shops and restaurants (about 5-10 minutes), but it’s away from the craziness as it can get pretty busy in those areas. - There is a rooftop restaurant with amazing views of the Acropolis, especially at night. I recommend making a reservation, just incase.

EASY TRANSFER FROM AIRPORT BY TRAIN 9 EUROS EACH 5 MINS FROM TRAIN STATION CLOSE ENOUGH FOR A CHOICE OF RESTAURANTS AND TAKEAWAYS

THE INCLUDED BREAKFAST COULD HAVE BEEN A BIT MORE OF A CHOICE BUT WHAT WE HAD WAS LOVELY AND YOU COULD ALWAYS PAY THAT BIT EXTRA IT YOU WANTED SOMETHING DIFFERENT

The view was absolutely stunning. It is on a pedestrian street.

The staff ordered a taxi for me for 7:15 in the morning to go to the airport and assured me the taxi would be there and on time despite my doubts. It did not come and I was left alone with my 24 kg suitcase and 3 bags on this street with no cars and no staff or people around. In the end I had to drag everything with difficulty about 500 metres across cobblestones to the nearest street with traffic and get a taxi there. It was stressful.

The breakfast, when it came, was plentiful and well-made. The problem was that the breakfast was not served in a systematic way -- you had to find a staff member to get it to you, and on our last day there was no staff member to be seen when we we wanted breakfast.

(1) The breakfast service needs to be better organized (location, timing, staffing); (2) We had our wallet stolen one day during our Athens visit -- not clear where, was it pick pocketing outside (there is a lot of it) or from our room -- and would advise everyone to be super cautious about keeping all their valuables very secure all the time. Note that we are not blaming this hotel for anything. When we told them about our loss they said it could not have been from the hotel room.

We loved every moment from arrival to the departures. We got welcome drinks and bowl of fruit and loved our view from the balcony .... Check out was at 12h00, but our flight was only at 20h40 and we could leave our luggage at reception while still exploring Athens. It was our second stay at the Hotel Thissio and we will come back. Thank you to all the staff

Nothing...all was perfect

View from our cnr suite was great : acropolis and fun eating street below. Our room was large, clean and had two balconies. Location to Plaka, acropolis and everything was amazing. Street the hotel was on full of cafes and street stalls. Rooftop restaurant was was amazing at night.

Downstairs breakfast and eating area needed a good clean.

Thissio is an awesome area to stay in Athens. At this hotel you are right on this lovely pedestrian walking area with outdoor cafes and small shops. Supereasy to walk to the major sites. View from room was as promised—gorgeous. Staff were really nice and stored our bags for us for a day. Restaurant was rooftop for the included breakfast. We also went there for a dinner and stellar view of the Acropolis lit up at night. If questions, best to contact hotel via their own website or on WhatsApp rather than the Booking portal. This seems to be true all over Greece, by the way.

Did not realize our particular suite 201 did not have an elevator. Most other rooms have an elevator. Bathroom in this suite is very small. Second bedroom a little tight as well.

Perfect location. Our balcony view was breathtaking with the Acropolis within a 5 min walk—day or night, it was stunning. The staff were so accommodating—even spoke English. Breakfast was delicious with MANY lunch/ dinner options within walking distance or as close as the rooftop restaurant.

Nothing. It was perfect!

Excellent location, very convenient for public transport. Close to archeoligical sites and city centre. Breakfast is brilliant, you need to chose from the menu but it is enormous and delicious. Rooftop restaurant is excellent, both service and food. My room was small but superclean, very comfortable.

Rooms with view can be noisy as there is a pedestrian area, full of cafes. It did not bother me, I liked the atmosphere. 💙

The breakfast was standard. The location was excellent, close to the ancient sites with a clear, close view of the Acropolis.

We were surprised and very disappointed that the TV had no English channels, so our evenings were boring, with nothing to watch.
