It was such a fabulous place. A few pools meant that guests weren’t squashed and we always managed to get a sun bed that was directly in sunshine all day! Staff were really friendly and accommodating, too. The spa was also amazing and I had a great massage there. Food within the hotel is brilliant, but it’s also only a five minute walk from the main strip of bars and restaurants. Just over the road from the front door is a cliff edge with the most beautiful view of the sea (particularly the sun set at night). I can’t recommend this place enough and I’ll definitely be back one day!

Very friendly and helpful staff and Maria, the concierge, was brilliant with recommendations for local restaurants and tours. Beautiful, spotlessly clean pools. Big, bright and airy room and balcony, cleaned daily. Excellent bar food and room service. I understood there was a la carte restaurant in the evenings, but this wasn't available when I asked.

Hotel was closing for the winter on the day I left and there were no facilities available after breakfast other than luggage room and showers. It would have been nice to have had sun loungers and pool available at least until early afternoon. Room was too bright at night with exit light over door and another light, but this issue was resolved as soon as I raised it with reception staff.

Close to Fira by foot. The villas are very confortable with a beautiful view on the caldeira and the sunset

Too bad to have 5 swimming pools none of them are heated. So nobody can swim. Not even the jaccuzi or the inside pool. It is a real shame because the rest was perfect

Loved everything. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed in, food was best we ate in Fira and Maria at the concierge desk was outstanding. We did everything she recommended. 5 star for Maria who made our holiday

I think the hotel could improve their oversight on guests grabbing beds in the early am but not using them. I recommend they look at a 15-minute rule where beds are not occupied, they remove the towels. This was quite frustrating.

Breakfast was excellent, staff are just lovely and respectful and the room was beautiful.

The other guests who put towels on sun beds and then walk off for around 6 hours and then arrive back with the attitude that we’ve stolen their sun beds and they’re entitled to them due to the towel. People should not be allowed to do that -it’s not fair and very selfish for those who are actually spending time at the pool area.

Perfect location, short pleasant scenic walk from hotel into Fira. Beautiful rooms, with power shower, and air conditioning. Pool area very pleasant, nice variety of food and drinks at snack bar. Staff very nice and helpful.

Guests putting towels on sun chairs before 7.00am and not using them until the afternoon. Hotel should put a time limit on reserving sun chairs.

Resort is located an easy walk to town—it’s really about 10 minutes—you’d have to be walking at an extremely slow pace to make it take longer (some reviews have said 20 minutes plus? No idea how unless you are talking to the opposite edge of town). You can also easily walk through the center of the resort to get to a strip of cheaper restaurants and shops, including a much bigger supermarket, away from the more expensive tourist locations. Breakfast is good with lots of options. We also had dinner at the pool bar one night when we got back late—food was tasty and prices were reasonable. Concierge was very helpful in setting up excursions, which were totally worth it—we did the catamaran tour (day) and the all day bus excursion. We were also upgraded to a junior suite upon arrival.

Gym hours were not conducive to being able to work out if you had any touring plans. Gym is only open from 8 am-8 pm, and breakfast hours are also short from 8-10:30 am so no real possibility of working out before breakfast and doing an activity. Shuttle service to/from port and airport is well run but not free. It’s 35 euros for the port each way and 25 for the airport. Both the hotel we stayed at in Rafina port and on Mykonos offered free pickup from Athens airport and Mykonos ferry port, respectively. It would have been nice to have this service as well (especially considering Santorini is so small—Athens airport to Rafina by comparison is a much further drive).

The layout of the hotel area - while large the individual levels felt like a small village on its on. Grounds and room was very good quality (e.g. Furniture and beds) well kept and kept orderly and clen. Excellent staff and menu in pool bar and restaurant. Terrace with caldera/sunset view. Hotel location close enouh to Fira for walking distance yet far enough away to be quiet.

(Rather a suggestion:) We had a very large terrace/balcony with all day full sunshine. Would have been even more usefull if there has been option for partial shade (e.g. a beach umbrella) on the terrace also.

El Greco was honestly one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly welcoming staff, who gave us a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite! Our bags were carried to the room and the view was unbelievable, we were right on the front west side facing the sunset! Room was beautifully done and had everything we needed including daily maid service which was welcome. The pools were immaculate, plenty of sunbeds. We ate in the bar/restaurant a couple of times for lunch and the food was excellent, staff always helpful and polite! Most of the hotel is facing the east side, we were on the west (probably only 10/20 apartments facing west. Location wise we were about a 5-10 minute walk into the lively town of Fira. The front of the hotel is on the road that leads in to Fira so there are coaches and quad bikes going up and down but it didn’t bother us when sleeping! Plenty of parking also, we hired a car from goldcarcat the airport (the hotel is an 8 min drive from the airport) as we wanted to explore the island. Nothing is more than a 25 minute drive and we felt safe on the roads. Overall we had the most incredible stay here and we wished we could have stayed forever !! Thank you so much to all the staff at El Greco!

Nothing it’s perfect!!!

Great breakfast, pool area, room. Gym is very well equipped. Absolutely spotlessly clean! Good location

Minor issues, the pool was cold despite it being the 2nd week of September and the air temperature was 30+ degrees. They must constantly circulate fresh cold water or something? Lots of small flies around the breakfast room which seem to die very quickly as staff swept them off the floor regularly, I’m not sure if this an ongoing problem or just some kind of outbreak when we were there. It sounds worse than it was! Whilst I know Santorini is expensive, drink and food prices at the hotel were more than I expected, from memory €8 for a bowl of chips. These negatives wouldn’t put us off staying here again if we returned to Santorini.
