Location! Location! Location! The caldera view was everything. It was lovely to wake up to that view every morning. They served breakfast on the balcony every morning with the view as the backdrop. The facilities were clean and they provided you with fresh fruit, water, soda, local wine, beer and snacks. The bed was super comfortable. It literally sucked you in. Housecleaning stopped by daily to refresh your room. The staff was lovely, very accommodating and helpful. The hotel was centrally located with lots of options for restaurants and walking distance to Fira. I would recommend this hotel for sure.

The water in the shower didn’t stay hot for very long. It cooled fairly quickly

Fantastic, stunning location on the caldera. My sister and I had the executive room with the private hot tub. The room was 2 story and the bedroom was upstairs to provide an even more elevated view of the caldera. The door opened to let in the sea air. Breakfast was brought to our patio promptly every morning and was a nice selection of foods. Bed was VERY comfortable and bathroom(s) were large and lovely. Not a negative, but it should be noted that the hot tub was on the patio, which is on the main footpath in Firostefani. It was not secluded, but not an issue for us.

The water in the hot tub was warm, but not hot like most people expect a hot tub to be. I would estimate the water to be about 90 degress F. Nothing like the 99-101 temps that are common in a jacuzzi tub. I wish we would have had our own thermostat to control the water temp. It would have been nice to heat it up more after the sun went down.

The place was spotlessly clean. Bed large and very comfortable. The Exclusive suite was based on two stories, large and spacious, with bathroom and shower on both floors. Breakfast was generous and delicious, we loved most those crispy, crunchy spinach pastries. Whipped Greek yogurt available for the asking, as well as other possible quirks (we specifically asked for coffee instead of tea and no meat). Though the staff lacks in English proficiency they more than make up for it with good will and willingness to help. The jacuzzi was a bit too cool in an unseasonably cool mid-May. Great location for those who enjoy hiking, it's about 40 minutes to the Skaros Castle ruin. Location is in Firostefani, just outside of Fira, the major town on the island, so quiet but accessible by walking to most of the action, and many restaurants nearby. The view from the Smaro Studios is probably the best on the entire island, encompassing the crater and including Skaros.

I liked the stay, however we found other villas that were more value for money and were 4 star hotels. I think the breakfast needs to include more dairy products like cheeses and yoghurt with Granola or cereal to cater for younger guests. The three wooden stools were a hazard for young kids as they kept toppling. It was stressful to ensure an accident didn't happen. Also the little area above the stairs needs to be closed off as kids might accidentally fall over the stairs.

There was a frequent odour from the sewerage system or cooking odours from the nearby Onar restaurant. For the price, I would expect these odours would be eliminated or the nightly rate reduced to compensate for the inconvenience.

We rented this place primarily for the view and were not disappointed. Lots of restaurants very close. Breakfast is served out on the balcony with the view below. Super friendly staff, they are the owners.

Arrange to have someone meet you somewhere near the hotel as it is very hard to find. The address in Google maps puts you in a slightly different location. They need to try to put out a few more signs. Also. even though cars are super cheap to rent ($17/day) I recommend NOT renting as there is basically no parking anywhere.

Location was great. 10 min walk from the craziness of Fira, so it wasn’t too busy around, yet close enough to get to the action by foot. Breakfast was delivered everyday sharp, and super friendly staff. We got the 2 floor unit which had 2 bathrooms and a hot tub which was great! The only thing to consider (which doesn’t seem avoidable if you also want a view) is that you’ll have a bunch of randoms close to your unit regularly taking pictures cause the view is that good!

Lovely apartment with a million dollar view. Very clean and spacious. Lots of steps, but the view was worth it. Quiet, away from passing traffic, a minute's walk to great restaurants. Wonderful breakfast included and delivered to our patio each morning.

If mobility is a problem, then the steps could be a problem as the bed is on a mezzanine up steep steps from the lounge, and there are many steps leading from the taxi drop-off point to the property.

Excellent hotel. Service was terrific. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard and the staff were terrific and very friendly. We were so close to the main tourist path to access restaurants and bars etc, without having to deal with throngs of people or compromising privacy. We didn’t have to claim heaps of stairs to get to places either. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast was great and plenty of supplies for the room. Very comfortable bed too.

We absolutely loved our stay at Smaro Studios! The hotel itself is gorgeous and very well kept. Our room was perfect and contained everything we needed. The view from the hotel is stunningly breathtaking, and being able to take in the Santorini sunset from the comfort of your own balcony is an experience we will not soon forget. The breakfast was incredible! We felt very taken care of - the staff were on hand for all our needs. They especially took great care of our young daughter. Aila absolutely adored the staff and she really misses them! Thank you so much for everything! This was the most special of trips.
