If you are looking for complete relaxation away from the madness of life this is your place. Accessible by boat only this gorgeous, humble little Taverna offers peace and serenity. The rooms are clean, simple with comfortable beds but the location, view and the sound of the waves lapping against the shore are 5 star! There is really something very energetically special about this part of the world. This has been family run for 30 years and they could not be more generous with their hospitality. You can understand why they have so much repeat business. So if you are looking to completely check out of the rat race for a while, exercise, sleep, read, eat homemade nourishing food and recharge, this could be the place for you. I extended my stay...

Our stay at Lykos was truly exceptional, thanks to the warm and friendly hospitality of the hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. The hotel is tucked away in a peaceful location, just a short boat ride from Loutro, which has its own unique charm. We spent three blissful days swimming, reading, dining at the lovely restaurant, and stargazing under the serene night sky. It was the perfect place to unwind in one of the most tranquil settings we've ever had the pleasure of visiting. A huge thank you to Pavlos, Hussein, and the wonderful women who worked quietly behind the scenes, making our stay unforgettable.

We loved everything about the property.

Stayed one night and really regretted not staying a bit longer. Beautiful and calm location on the beach. Modern, clean and comfortable room. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel & everything was really good. One can access the hotel by a boat (the owner proposes to hop on his boat from Loutro or you can take a taxi boat-about 30€ ). It's about 40 min walk from Loutro (it was more of a mini hike rather than a stroll). You can also reach the location by car, keep in mind that it is a narrow mountain road (although in a good state), wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is scared of heights and doesn't like winding roads.

The location is absolutely beautiful. The view on the sea is absolutely breathtaking. The owner can come get you by boat in Loutro if he's free, but if not, the walk along the coast is quite manageable (if you avoid the hot hours of the day). The food is very good, as it's a family owned place. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm, and congenial. I definitely recommend staying there!

The bed was a bit hard, but I've had hip surgery so I'm extra sensitive. I still slept well there!

The place is ideal to have a good rest, rustic but aligned with the atmosphere of the place, very calm and cosy, remote enough. The room has a spectacular sea view and a little romantic terrace to rest by the sunset before sleeping or when waking up. Pavlos and his colleague are very welcoming. The food is lovely, and we sleep lulled by the sound of the surf.

Nothing

It was challenging to reach this place by car, but well worth it once we got there, as the Taverna is right beside a very rugged, but very beautiful part of coastline! There was a great choice for breakfast, all prepared/ cooked fresh. The beach is rocky and stony and tricky to enter the water from the shore, however, there is a jetty with a ladder, which helped a lot and sunbeds available to use on the beach. Kostas was a superb host, who made the stay and the whole experience even better!

Not a lot really, it was just what we wanted, lovely, peaceful and tranquil. Nothing much you could complain about to be honest!

This is a family run taverna with 2 incredibly friendly, hard working, genuine and hospitable brothers. They went out of their way to make everyone feel at home and answer any questions on the area. The food is homemade and local. The views, location, wildlife and sea are divine. It was like stepping into a traditional, authentic, calming, TV free paradise of simple pleasures and serenity. Shakira is a sweetheart and loved to keep everyone company, especially at dinnertime!

The bathroom wasn't as clean as it could be and the bin was broken but these were minor details compared to the natural perfection of everything else there.

This is one of the world’s very special places. Two days in this place is like a week elsewhere. Pavros could not have been more lovely and helpful. If you want easy access, all facilities and multiple eating choices, this is not for you. It is calm, stunning and it was a privilege to have encountered it. Highlights are an early morning gorge walk, swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear waters, star gazing, sitting under a tree contemplating life… the food is basic but delicious. The walking spectacular.

I highly recommend leaving a car at horo sfacia and getting a taxi or the more ‘bus ‘ taxi. The last 14 hairpins of the road down are pretty scary even for seasoned mountain drivers, especially with four people and luggage weight. Don’t be tempted to drive down. The taxi boat is a highlight anyway (took it with kids whilst husband drove car back up), seeing coastline from water.

Perfect, unspoilt Greece, set in a secluded bay on a small pebble beach. Pavlos and Hussein made us feel we were staying with friends with their excellent, friendly service and tasty home-cooked food. Room was comfortable and clean with a wonderful view from the balcony. Ideal for lazing on sun beds in the shade of the pine trees, reading and snorkelling in crystal clear waters.

Taverna Akrogiali is located in a secluded bay close to Loutro. It’s quiet and peaceful and absolutely gorgeous. Very good for snorkelling as the waters are brimming with fish. On the beach shade comes naturally from the trees and flower bushes, and the taverna provides sun beds that are free to use. Kostas and Pavlos were such kind hosts, and the home cooked food from their taverna was delicious. We were staying in one of the rooms from the old building on the 2nd floor. The view was incredible and the location of the windows allowed for a gentle breeze at night if you don’t like sleeping with AC (there is one though, and it works well). All in all, a proper little slice of paradise, if you’re not too fussed about humble and no-frills hospitality! We will definitely come again.

The mattress in our room (in the old building) was not the most comfortable. There are bigger and more comfortable beds in the new addition so we would probably ask for a room there, next time.
