My second stay at Lamon Hotel confirmed the excellent experience of last year. Perfectly located both for beach and town access, and as a base to explore the Rethymno region; the tastefully decorated, spacious and clean rooms provide comfort and the perfect environment for relaxation; breakfast area with a view of the bay, delicious varied sweet and savoury breakfast, selection of fresh fruit, home baked cakes and more; above all the warm welcome and assistance of the owners and the incredibly friendly and helpful reception, waiting and cleaning staff: you made our stay once again memorable and comfortable. We thank you to all for that.

2d time there, time be4 had 1/2 board. Been in all 3 large establishments on the same road, Lamon surpasses the rest. Improved thru the yrs, friendly personell, great location, good coffee, breakfast variety. Hotel located on the waterfront,best to restaurants and grocery/convenience stores. Var atvtgebhotel has VERY COMPETITIVE PRICES, and waiters come with a 😃! Great breakfast variety and good coffee ☕️

The room door has to be secured with the key, everybody can walk in cus you can open it from outside from the door handle. Don't get me wrong IT ISNT AN UNSAFE PLACE, but if the door isn't locked when u R inside, someone else can open it by mistake!

Plakias is a very nice village on the sea front and the hotel is 10 metre from the beach. We were having breakfast seeing the beautiful sea. The sea and beaches are very clean and the hotel includes sunbeds on the sea front. It is possible to visit around, either with a rented car or with the support of an organized group. There are lots of restaurants with fantastic quality food. The hotel personnel was very kind, although I understand they may change season by season.

It is a very windy island. We are okay with it, but probably not for everyone one. However, the wind reduce the feeling of the hot sun.

We had a nice room, clean, everything was as expected, good breakfast, friendly staff. The pool was nice, but cold - also the sea was cold, for some reason. The location is nice, you can walk around on the beach, left and right and you find some great views - especially at sunset. Beware, at the left side (near the mountain) there is a nude-beach - I almost took the kid there, luckily I saw earlier :) You can also go to the right, there are some nice taverns.

The main issue was the beach, rocks, not only on the side, also in the water, not friendly for kids. You can find some beach portions where you can swim, but the water was freezing. Now, it's also a matter of taste, we prefer sand.

The room was excellent. As big as a five star room. Bathroom OK. Breakfast excellent with every type of food. The beach at Plakias suffered from a bad winter so lots of stones but the swimming is good and the hotel has a nice pool. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel doesn't advertise as disabled access but it very nearly is. I am a wheelchair user. The downside is the ramps are too steep and you need assistance. The barman should and could have been more knowledgeable.

Violeta, the front desk manager, was all the time at the hotel during our stay. Her attention to detail was extraordinary. She was making sure we were always feeling comfortable, if we needed something, and also reacted before we even asked, as we were lactose intolerant, and she made sure we had plant based milk available. It was also my bday, and she gave us a bottle of delicious wine as a birthday gift. She was extraordinary, always smiling, kind, and helpful. She made our stay 10 thousand times more pleasant. The hotel is very well located, just beachfront and close to nice restaurants. Very clean, breakfast very good and with a lot of variety.

Perhaps people smoking in the breakfast area was a bit disturbing. A non-smoking policy area would be nice to have.

The staff were great. Looked after us very well, extremely helpful. We had a late arrival flight, outside normal reception hours. This wasn't an issue, and they stored the key in a safe place, which we found on our arrival. The double room with ocean view was lovely, clean, and everything you needed. Showers are always hot when you need them. Cleaning staff cleaned our room every day while we was at breakfast and provided fresh towels. Plakias itself is lovely and there are lots of restaurants and shops. We eat out most nights. Spoilt for choose.

Weather.. we had a couple of stormy days.

Everything was perfect! Great location, right on the beach and amidst all the shops and tavernas. The room was very beautiful and clean, with nice comfortable beds and a nice size fridge. Balcony with a beautiful Mountain View. The breakfast was very delicious and abundant with many things to choose from. The waiter was very hospitable and would go above and beyond to satisfy guests’ needs.

A well maintained and clean hotel right in the middle of the village along the beach bouleward. Excellent breakfast with lots of fresh products. A beautiful sea view from our balcony, quiet room with plenty of space. And relatively spacious bathroom as well. A sandy beach is long and the hotel has its own umbrellas and sun beds reserved for the guests. A small pool as well (even if we did not spend any time there).

Breakfast is excellent and open until 11.00 which is very much appreciated on holiday Lovely choice of eating area, either inside or open air. Excellent location, beach in front of the hotel, with free use of sunbeds and umbrellas and which is serviced by the bar staff! Vangelis was a superb member of staff
