The breakfast was outstanding for the price. The location was right in the heart of the Old Town, and the staff were brilliant and helpful (particularly Elena). The decor was stunning. It was a joy to stay there.

There was some light pollution in our room because there were windows without blinds or shutters. So, the sunlight came streaming into the bedroom in the morning. Also, the shower drain would fill back to the bathroom drain and flood the floor if we showered for too long. Which was a shame as the shower itself was fantastic. Minor details as the hotel is wonderful.

Loved everything about the hotel and the streets surrounding it. Its so nicely renovated, keeping all the original floors and details, so full of history, really takes you back centuries. We had a lovely suit, facing a lovely interior terrace. The linen and curtain looked handmade, which added a great touch. Bed was extremely comfortable. The best choice for our 2 nights stay in Rethymno, traveling around Crete.

Its a bit difficult to reach, only possible by foot, as its located in the old town pedestrian area. So best if you travel with a light luggage, you'll have carry it through a maze of streets. Parking is challenging as well, but worth the effort overall.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the beautiful old building had vintage decorations. The room was spacious with a special atmosphere, and every request was efficiently responded to. The air conditioning worked well, and the room was already cool when we arrived. Additionally, the breakfast was very good. We traveled by car and parked at the Vanacian Harbour parking, which is only a few minutes' walk from the hotel. The parking fee was approximately 10 euros per night.

We liked everything

A very beautiful hotel in a perfect, prime location. The room was lovely and we were given a private terrace which was so pretty. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and our room was always cleaned to a very good standard.

Unfortunately the breakfast was not good. It meant that we had to go out to eat every morning at extra expense. The food was cold and there was almost no range of choice.

Wow, our experience at Veneto was truly above and beyond! Literally every aspect of the experience was the high quality I am always hoping for, but am definitely not always lucky enough to find. Every member of the staff from reception to doorman to dining was incredibly welcoming with a very relaxed energy, making me feel at home and as though the hotel must be a good place to work. The room was beautiful and unique, with a fabulous shower, comfortable bed, and gorgeous balcony overlooking the courtyard. The location could not be better. Of course, Rethymno is an old city so if you arrive by car, then parking takes some effort, but there is free street parking if you’re lucky, and if not, a nice paid parking place at STS Parking Old Town is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The cost is €20 every 24 hours; very well worth it to be located in the center of Rethymno’s old town, within walking distance of so many beautiful restaurants and shops and of course the fortress and beach. For dining, the hotel’s own restaurant is excellent - one of the best meals of our entire 2 month trip around Greece in every category; food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. We were blown away! I had the oxtail truffle gnocchi with a rakimelito to drink and both could not have been better. I will certainly return on my next trip to Crete and recommend Veneto to friends and family. Not all rooms have the stone wall look that is shown in the pictures here on Booking.com. Our room was still beautiful - just a note to be aware of.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! Excellent communication via the app leading up to our arrival. The staff provided excellent service including with restaurant bookings and when we had an issue with our room. We really appreciated the thoughtful consideration shown by the staff to make the stay as comfortable as possible, and the welcome drink! The hotel has unique dining areas. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with good showers.

There is a lack of sound proofing (most likely due to the age of the building) which means you can hear diners in the restaurant first thing in the morning and until late in the evening.

This property was extremely close to the port, restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is a literal gem! The history behind the hotel is so intriguing and the renovations done to this property is phenomenal! Gorgeous decor and construction! My husband and I were impressed with just how picturesque this hotel was. And the garden dining area was amazing! So serene! Breakfast at the hotel was a culinary treat! So many options for both my husband and I who are vegetarian. The food was so fresh! Thank you!

Our room in particular was in an unusual location. It was right next to the garden dining area so every time we left our room in the morning or evening we were greeted by all the eyes of everyone enjoying their meal. Second, we could not sleep in because we could hear the voices and noise of breakfast from the garden area. In the evening, dinner is served until midnight so we heard diners until 1 am! Also, while parking was nearby, it was certainly expensive at $20 a night. Last, the man who checked us in the first night was courteous but seemed rushed and eager to say his speal and then leave. All other staff were extremely kind.

We stayed at the Veneto Boutique Hotel for a week in March. The Hotel is located in the Old Town and is in a perfect position for a stroll along the sea front with many bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The hotel itself is lovely and the staff were very friendly indeed. Breakfast was between 8am and 10am each morning and consisted of a wide spread of fruit, Cereals, cold meats and cheeses, pastries and a hot section consisting of fried eggs, scrambled eggs and bacon. Fresh fruit juices, tea and filter coffee are also available. The room we stayed in was of a good size with a double bed and separate sofa, seating area, with a small coffee table. There was a TV in the room and also a fridge. Tea making facilities were also in the room with a small kettle for that ever important brew. The bathroom was very nice with a separate shower, vanity sink, and toilet. The room also had air-conditioning which in our case, helped to warm the room as it was a cold wet week. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and I don't doubt we will be booking again in the future. Well done, Veneto Boutique Hotel.

No negatives at all, but be mindful that the hotel does not have a lift, so you will need to carry your case up the stairs. Also, there is no onsite parking, but there are a few carparks in the vicinity, which are only a five minute walk to the hotel

the property was beautiful! really amazing location, with a lot of beautiful decor like a mini fountain, an outside with a public balcony shrouded with flowers and much more. not to mention the actual building itself! i stayed in room 101 and it was lovely and traditional, really beautiful.

personally, my room had no internet connection which was rather frustrating as it hindered our planning of our days/talking to people back home. the shower could be improved as the temperature only had two settings - cold and boiling! and liked to change randomly between the two. the pressure was really weak with the shower head aswell.

The building dates back 600 years. Which is apparent in the charm and character of Veneto Boutique Hotel.

Location is amazing and the service phenomenal. Though our stay was short, the staff at Veneto Boutique Hotel went out of their way to accompany us and make our stay special. We are so grateful to Elena for staying late to check us in and give us a personal tour of the hotel and our room. Above and beyond!!! We will be back.
