Excellent.

I don't like the parking issue. When filtering booking.com I put free parking. When leaving I was asked to pay for parking my car. I don't like such situations and the offer should clearly state that there is a paid parking. The second situation is the resort fee. This is a tax that must be paid but nowhere in the hotel's offer is it stated that the resort tax will be added to the room price. To be clear - I am not criticizing the tax but there is a lack of information on this in the hotel's offer. I like fair play and this is not entirely fair play. Especially since it is an excellent hotel and should not have critical comments

The location was perfect. The breakfast choices were very good.

A great place to stay but we did have a few issues. It was an extra hot few days and the A/C could not quite keep up. We learned to cool the room down with the morning air and then close down the curtains. In room #4 the WiFi signal was not very strong but there was service. On our first day they the self-service coffee machine at breakfast stopped working but they gladly made our coffees on their super-machine in the kitchen. The next day the machine was replaced with an alternate the also had problems. We could only make espresso and then we could add what we wished. None of these issues were a big problem or would keep us from returning.

Perfect location in Eger, one of the best restaurants in the area. Spacious apartment, comfortable bed, flexible and nice staff. Really beautiful surroundings. I would come back any time, despite some minor issues. One of us left a shirt in the apartment - they called us to let us know, a big positive.

Front desk had an issue with how Booking is processing the payment, and for a few days, it felt like they are unwilling to solve the issue, which was absolutely not my (the guest's) responsibility, but it was about how Booking.com changed processing of payment between the hotel and them. The hotel threatened with cancellation, it took a few days of discussion with its reservation desk till they understood that I cannot do much on my side, I had to escalate the issue to their manager to reach a solution. Bedroom in the apartment has a partially glass door which cannot be easily covered - if you want to sleep late, that can be an issue. Only one key was provided for an apartment where up to 6 people can stay - upon request, we could not get more.

This little gem must have the best view in Eger. The view from our apartment living room and bedroom was fantastic and at night quite magical. The castle and old town were transformed from a beautiful view to quite something else! Having been to Eger some twelve years ago I was keen to show my husband this lovely old town and it did not disappoint. So much so that we extended our stay by another night. We were fortunate to have dinner in Macok Bistro, which is attached to the hotel, and all I can say is that it was wonderful. We enjoyed the four course tasting menu on one night and went back another night for a la carte. It is clear the kitchen staff understand food. If visiting Eger, I can highly recommend both the accommodation and the restaurant.

There were a number of stairs from the carpark and reception to our apartment was difficult with suitcases. This is not a criticism as most of the places we have stayed in Europe have stairs. Just be prepared.

I will be more critical in the review, although the accommodation was of a very high standard. Amazing restaurant quality during standard operation, except for breakfast. The rooms were nicely appointed, but the equipment was older. Perfect location.

Parking fee, although It is understandable because of the location. The imagination of breakfast. For the fact that the restaurant has a Michelin star, the breakfasts were unimaginative and the same every day. The selection could have been bigger. We expected much more.

Superb location, friendly staff, comfy beds. We stayed in a spacious family-friendly apartment -- with hotel-level services. The Macok restaurant offers a fine dining opportunity.

We learned upon arrival that the Brumbrum Pizzeria is closed for refurbishment starting from 2023.09.01. This is temporary, though. The Macok restaurant offers excellent food. Unfortunately, the waiters are working very long hours, and they become really-really exhausted by dinnertime. The food was delicious nonetheless.

Excellent and very helpful staff. Answered my questions and arranged taxi for trip to train station in early AM. Location was ideal, very near to Eger castle, Dobo Square and Kossuth street. Room was small, but very comfortable bed and nice bathroom facilities. In-house restaurant Macok Bistro was excellent with great food, drinks and welcoming staff. Included breakfast very good also. My 4 day stay was excellent.

Lack of an elevator to upper floors.

We loved the location - what a unique opportunity and fabulous place from which to view the fortress from the windows and balcony. Staff were obliging and the breakfast was wonderful.

The room was typical of most hotel rooms - on the small side , but the location and the ability to open windows and the door to the balcony overlooking the square and fortress compensated greatly for this minor consideration.

This was my second stay in the hotel and I must say I absolutely love the place. Location is absolutely perfect. At the heart of Eger, next to the castle, with beautiful views and amazing restaurant downstairs. The rooms are convenient and spacious. Staff is always very helpful and welcoming. Will be more than happy to stay again!

Wonderful location, very close to the main square and the castle. Beuatiful and interesting building in which hotel is located.

Very weak breakfast. The entrance to the rooms was directly from outside which during summer would have been nice but during winter is a trouble. In our room the lights were broken, after 3 tries, some were fixed but not all. When we asked about room change, we learned that it is not possible because the next day the hotel was going to be full. It didn't look like full the next day, we met only one family at breakfast, just like the day before.
