The Arnarhvoll hotel is very well located, just opposite the Harpa centre and offers very nice sea views, from certain rooms as well as from the Sky bar where (good and diverse) breakfast is served. The staff is helpful and respectful. They even offer a quick breakfast to go for early checkouts. The rooms are clean and good with comfortable beds. Altogether, I've enjoyed my stay and especially the nice view, cleanliness, good breakfast, and friendly staff would be good reasons for me to return.

The rooms and their furniture show clear signs of use and I got cold feet at the tiled floor (a pair of slippers would have been useful).

We booked the deluxe seaview room and it was fantastic! Floor to ceiling windows with a view of the harbour, Mt Esja and Harpa. Lots of nice amenities in the room including kettle, nespresso machine, wine glasses and mugs, fridge and safe. Bed was comfortable. Our room included spa access, along with robes and slippers, and it was wonderful to soak in the hot tub and unwind in the sauna at the end of a day. Breakfast was also included in our booking and was nice quality with many options, and served on the 8th floor with a view of the harbour. Staff were very helpful in booking taxis and airport transit. Prime location with short walk to rainbow road, sun voyager, all the main sights in town. Bus stop 6 (Culture House) for tours just up the street. We loved it, splurge that extra for the deluxe seaview if you can!

Spa facilities were good but needed a bit more maintenance by the end of the night. Please refresh towels, water glasses etc. Staff did so happily on request.

The hotel's location (2 minutes from Harpa, overlooking the sea, opposite bus stop 5), was great. We stayed twice, once before departing on a cruise, and then on our return. The first room we had was at the back of the hotel, overlooking a car park and building work. The room was VERY hot, uncomfortably so, and the air condition didn't appear to be working. Noisy building work started very early in the morning - not the hotel's fault, but it did disturb our sleep. We were provided with an electric fan the second night, but it was still far too hot for us. On our second visit, our room was at the front of the hotel, brilliant view, the room was pleasantly cool, so a huge improvement. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and with a good selection, everything was fresh and nicely presented. On our departure, we needed to check out very early, and the hotel arranged a taxi to take us to Keflavik and provided us with an early breakfast, this was excellent service. I would certainly stay here again if visiting Reykjavik.

The view and noise in the room we stayed in the first time - at the back of the hotel. The temperature of this room was far too hot.

Underfloor heating kept the room so toasty - even when the thermostat was only set at 15 degrees. Loved the Nespresso coffee machine and pods provided, which really helped us get up on our early-morning starts. Fabulous floor-to-ceiling windows allowed a lovely view. Receptionists were very helpful and friendly.

Noise from the room above us, so there might be a sound-insulation issue associated with the underfloor heating, whereas most hotels have carpets. Disappointed that, despite seeing them in every room image we looked at on the site, there were actually no quarter bottles of wine provided. Reception told us that they were "just for the pictures". However, this verges on misrepresentation. If something is not provided, then don't show a picture of it. Shower screen was leaking water from underneath the seal, down the outside of the tub, so the floor was soaked by the time we had both showered.

We thought everything was well thought out and enjoyed our stay. We had a room with a wonderful view. The spa was great. The staff were so helpful, all the concierge staff at the desk were knowledgeable and assisted us in finding things to do, dining and answered all our questions. They knew all the great things about the different attractions in Reykjavík, and which to prioritize. The location, right across from Harpa but a few blocks from the busier area was just right. We also had a friend staying at the same time and all thought the breakfast were amazing and the sky bar was a Bonus.

The location of the hotel was great. Right next to two major bus stops where the tour busses picked up and within walking distance of the main streets of the city where the restaurants and shopping are located. The room was small and the shower in the bathroom was a bit funky but all in all a great value. The room was always warm and the bed was fantastic.

The shower. Not used to a European style set up where a swinging plexiglass shield was the only thing preventing the water from spraying the entire bathroom.

The entire hotel is welcoming and sufficient for all your needs. The breakfast was wholesome and had many choices. It was nice to be able to see either the sunrise or the sunset from the 8th floor. Beds were very nice and the pillows were comfy. I did bring a top sheet and I'm glad that I did that because that is what I am used to. The Sky Restaurant & Bar overlooks the entire Harbor and it's great for taking pictures of the boats the sky & weather, Harpa and the traffic. The downstairs mineral spa costs an extra $20 for the week but it was so worth it! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most all the staff spoke English. The location was perfect for me because all I had to do was walk across a street to the Harpa and bus stop five and six were close.

This hotel was brilliant. Friendly staff who are always willing to help lovely views from the room and Sky bar. Amazing breakfast. Enjoyed happy hour when we got a chance to go. Great tour xonnections with the hotel too.. Beautiful location and we felt very lucky to be staying there super close to bus stops no 5 and 6 for tours. Really enjoyed the mini spa facilities. A very pleasant stay.

Honestly we were very happy with our stay and would definitely return. These things are minor pointers: We stayed in a sea view room but the windows were a little murky, definitely couldn't take photos out of them could see by eye obviously would have been nicer if they were clearer. Also one day after they made up our room I had to put the duvet into the sheet myself. Would have preferred a double duvet not too singles but this may be an Icelandic thing?

I have been to Iceland for 10+ times. This hotel has redefined my expectations and I am really grateful for having chosen it during my stay. Location is perfect, right next to Harpa concert hall and Reykjavik harbour with the best window view of mountains. Room is ready clean and cozy, perfect for one person. Wifi internet is smooth which was so helpful for my work coverage during Christmas season. Sky bar view is fantastic. Staff are all kind and supportive and the room cleaning work is phenomenal, really really appreciate the service! Last, the proximity of the hotel right next to Reykjavik harbour really helped when I rushed outdoor for aurora (northern lights) - it just took me 1 minute to walk to the harbour to see northern lights, and I really appreciate!

Nothing. All good!

I loved this hotels location, walked to the center downtown within 5 mins. I ended up with a corner room on 7th floor, so was able to look out over the Harpa Concert Center and the bay, it was beautiful. The bed was probably the best one on my week long trip and was finally able to have a good nights rest. The ladies at the front desk were awesome and so friendly. The Sky Bar and Restaurant on the top floor had an amazing view, the breakfast was included in my room rental and omg well worth it!!

Wish it had a shuttle service to and from the airport
