It was modern, clean, roomy, quiet all-around. Staff very friendly and approachable! Asked if I had eaten, as I arrived just after restaurant hours. Made me a quick meal and was very pleasant. Also had great, soft, jazz music playing in background. Nice touch!
It really was way off the beaten path of the average tourist and roads leading up to it were very confusing. Travelled over 2 hours backtracking around, trying to locate it. I am a very seasoned solo traveler but did not have a working gps in the car at the time. Had to call and find out where they were after much run around.

This hotel is special. The location, the secluded serene setting, the hot pot that overlooks the expansive open field. We loved everything about it. Dinner was really good. My husband said it was the best lamb gravy he'd ever had--and he's tasted a lot of it. :) The staff was great and the owners put a lot of love into providing a nice experience. If it wasn't cloudy the night we were there it would have been the ultimate place to see the Northern Lights. We had no problems finding the place and check-in was a breeze.
Nothing--we loved it!

It's a hotel in the middle of nowhere, there is gravel road to it. The view from the hot tub is lovely and we really enjoyed our time there. The person at the reception was very helpful and they provided us with bath robes for the hot tub. Maybe these could be already in the room to make it a bit easier, we had to ask. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom and a small bottle of shampoo/body wash. The floor was heated. The room was quite spacious, TV with a few channels and also Amazon Prime, which was a nice touch and we spent out evening watching a film.
We were there off the season and there weren't many guests, for some it can be quite scary, so if you don't like things like this, I don't recommend booking. Some guests checked in really late, and there was a lot of noise between 10 - 11:30 so I didn't sleep very well. Dinner was nice, I had cod and my partner lamb, however even for Iceland, it was pricey. For this type of hotel I would expect better breakfast, there weren't so many options, coffee wasn't very good, they had two types of ham/salami however it had very interesting colour and it seemed like one of the cheaper ones you can buy. I had celears, fruit and juice and enjoyed that.,

Absolutely everything. Stayed there for 2 nights on the arrival, loved it so much we ditched our last hotel in Iceland and came back for another night. The rooms are clean and it's a relatively new hotel, beds are comfortable. Staff are super friendly, the Internet is good, can watch Netflix. They have boardgames and books in reception lobby. Bar and dining has great views, the food is tasty and fresh. We saw the northern lights on the first night and took a dip in the hot spring tub with amazing views. The hotel provides robes and sliders. You can also hike up the hill to see the sunset if you wish to and there is a small waterfall as well. The breakfast was basic (like everywhere else) but enough, the brown bread was super nice. Note from my bf: really good professional tiling in bathrooms (stayed in 2 different rooms) 😊
We liked everything

Location, facilities, staff and the food was outstanding! Our dinner was delicious and our breakfast was prepared to go and to our surprise we had two yummy sandwiches and juice boxes.. very sweet as we had to check out at 7am for planned activities… Service from Ale was wonderful! The property is really in the middle of nowhere…. Making it the perfect location for the northern lights…. and we couldn’t say enough about the outside hot tub… one of the most incredible experiences ever! We were blown away truly!

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location! It is a bit off the main road but that helps add to the ambience. The hotel and rooms are nicely furnished and extremely clean. The restaurant serves delicious fresh food. The included breakfast was great and in addition to the typical continental items, included scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff was extemely personable. We loved this hotel and would definitely recommend.

Absolutely LOVED everything about this hotel. It was classy and modern, but didn't scream 'luxury' in your face. Super quiet, secluded and enwrapped in nature. Fantastic hot tub. Food, staff, vibe, music - everything was just perfect. We would come here to stay for a week to completely unwind. The hike to the waterfalls (ask the staff) was so worth it - so many waterfalls up the hill, one after another! Location is truly far from everything, but it wasn't a problem for us. We enjoyed the road 52 in itself.

A very comfortable, small hotel in a wonderful, quiet area "in the middle of nowhere" - but nevertheless very easy to access. A great outdoor hot tub, and various hiking options available as well. We really liked this hotel - and are looking forward to visit it again.
We really liked more or less everything here: the best hotel in Iceland for us this summer. The only suggestion for improvement is the breakfast: particularly for the vegetarian customer, there was not much to eat.

- fancy location &clean room - hot tub! - ikea good standard of the rooms but nothing fancy, we enjoyed it - common space with plenty of books! Really appreciated books about Iceland!
- really average breakfast, actually quite dissapointed (1st day even ham/cheese was missing, no friuts/vegetables) - poorly protected from the wind hot tub (we can not influence the weather ofc) - price/quality ratio if you compare to other hotels on the island around 3/5

The remoteness & peacefulness. We had veggie burgers & chips after check in and had the dining srea to ourselves with that magnificent view from the hotel’s panoramic windows. Breakfast was self service and plentiful. You won’t go hungry. There is an outside hot tub which my other half said was amazing.
The road leading to the hotel is a disaster and we had approached it off route 1 so we had 22km to travel over gravelly & potholed roads. A really stressful drive. They are currently asphalting the road but we urge extreme caution driving on it at the moment. A 4x4 is required atm.
