The decor, the ambiance and the behaviour of the hotel staff.

The dinner items were not properly named. For example 1) they were offering "Beef" in the name of "tenderloin" which means soft meat from the sides of any animal. They didn't mention it was beef and the most surprising of all was that, they were ignorant of the meaning of the word "tenderloin". 2) They were also offering some meat item as "Lal Mas" which means "Red meat" in Hindi. It didn't mention whether the meat was beef, pork, lamb or goat. These are absolutely not expected from Taj Hotel

I primarily chose Taj Coromandel due to its proximity to Apollo Hospital as we travelled to Chennai for medical reasons. Over the days and weeks, Taj has become a home away from home to me and my family. The comfort of the rooms is perfect for my mum’s recovery, the food options are great and allow plenty of variety during our extended stay, but above all, the warmth and hospitality of the hotel staff is endearing and very much make us feel like we are amongst family. I don’t have enough words to say how we appreciate everyone’s smiles and words of support. Everyone goes out of their way to make things easier for us. Thank you to the F&B team with special thanks to Parul, John, Asen, Subbu, Kuppu, Suresh, Dhanasekar and Chef Jerry. Thank you to Ariva at the front desk, to Guru, Kailash and the housekeeping team, to Sherina and the Concierge team and also to Logan, Joseph and Yuvaraj at the main entrance for their welcoming smiles each time we return to the hotel. Each and everyone of you is making our stay a memorable one. You are such an asset to Taj and we wish you all the best. We will remember all of you with much fondness.

I had an exceptional stay at the Taj Coromandel, Chennai! The entire experience was seamless, thanks to the outstanding staff. Check-in with Mr. Ankit was efficient and welcoming. The housekeeping team was lovely, attentive, and catered to our every need. In-room dining was impeccable - our customized orders were delivered promptly, and the food was delicious! The breakfast spread was scrumptious, with a wide range of options. The staff ensured our orders were prepared to perfection, always with a smile. Checkout with Shreya was equally efficient. Kudos to the Taj Coromandel, Chennai, for raising the bar on hospitality! The Taj group's services have truly excelled at this property.

The attentiveness and compassion of the staff was unparalleled and a special shout out to Jasmin and Mr. Rao at the front desk!! The entire staff from checkin to breakfast service , housekeeping, bell staff were simply superb in their helpfulness and attention to detail.. the breakfast is one of the best!! We visited their fisherman’s wharf property for high tea and left out bag accidentally at this property. When we notified the Taj Coromandel staff of this accident, they promptly contacted the sister property and coordinated the return of our laptop bag to the airport directly ! So so thankful to everyone

Even in the best hotels in the world something can go wrong, and that's when the hotel is really being under test, how they deal with a problem. This was one of these cases and the hotel took care of me and was above and beyond in professionalism. We take it as granted as it is a Taj hotel, but I'm glad to say it did live to its reputation. The Taj club team is wonderful as usual, the Head Chef and the Evening head chef was exceeding my expectations and special thanks to the director of hosts (Mr Sitrij I think, but I'm butchering his name and his title) that took care of me personally.

Great hotel, good ambience, friendly and helpful staff. A special mention of Satesh the driver, staff at Anise Kuppusamy, Bala who were very kind and looked after us well. The chef Jabaraj for kindly taking the trouble to share a recepi of one of his dishes. The room was very comfortable, very clean and bed was super comfortable... slept very well.

Checking in takes too long. With pre-booked details of the guest it should be much shorter. Unlike Anise, the dinner at Southern spices was a little disappointing. The vegetable thali was disappointing compared to outside. Check out at 8 am was also disappointing as the bill for the night dinner as well as the bill for the transport to the airport had not been sent over. We paid the extras but received a call enroute to airport that there was a shortfall. We had to make the payment on return. It caused us some inconvenience that could have been avoided if your check out service was more efficient. Otherwise a great hotel.

Taj Coromandel Chennai is truly exceptional! The prime location makes it incredibly convenient for travelers, as it's situated in the heart of the city with easy access to major attractions and business hubs. The culinary experience was outstanding – from breakfast to dinner, the food was a perfect blend of authentic South Indian flavors and international cuisine. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to other facilities like shopping centers and cultural landmarks added great value to the stay. Everything is designed to ensure guests have a seamless and luxurious experience.

One aspect that could be improved is the lack of lids for the bins in the rooms and common areas. It’s a small detail, but having bins with lids ensures better hygiene and adds to the overall cleanliness of the space. For a property as prestigious as Taj Coromandel, such details matter and can make the stay even more comfortable for guests.

The staff are outstanding! Rooms were clean. The food at the Anise is ok. They have a pricey buffet for every meal and the food looks better than it tastes. A la carte orders take very long. I got a massage at the spa - Ah mazing and well worth the price. Highly recommend using their car services. Drivers are professional and courteous, vehicles are clean and rides are reasonably priced. I felt safe here.

Having chefs and servers ask for Trip Advisor reviews, and push a QR code at me when I'm trying to have morning coffee was not appreciated.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Taj Coromandel during the last two days of my trip to Tamil Nadu, on the 20th and 21st of September 2024, and I must say that it was an absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish. I would first like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Jasmin Ahmar, whose exceptional hospitality truly made a difference. Despite the hotel being fully booked, she went above and beyond to accommodate us, moving us to a beautiful room away from the smoking wing. Even while we were out shopping, she thoughtfully followed up to ensure everything was perfect, letting us know that our baggage was already in the room. Her proactive care and attention to detail made us feel incredibly welcomed and valued. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the two wonderful front office ladies, Ms. Vijaya and Ms. Sobika. Their warm and gracious welcome, along with their outstanding service, ensured that our stay was as comfortable as possible. They attended to every need with professionalism and kindness, making our experience truly memorable. Furthermore, I cannot thank the restaurant staff enough for making our dining experience exceptional. At Southern Spice, Mr. Sagai Raj, Mr. Shiva Kumar, Mr. Govindaraj, Mr. Shafi, and Mr. Madhay delivered impeccable service, adding to the wonderful atmosphere with their care and warmth during dinner. It was a delightful evening. The next morning, during breakfast, the outstanding service continued with Mr. Kuppusamy, Mr. John (Manager), and Chef Dhayaln. Their attention to detail and hospitality exceeded my expectations, and I was genuinely impressed by the high standard of service they provided. The entire experience at Taj Coromandel was simply top-notch, and I cannot express enough how much we appreciated the incredible service and hospitality extended by the entire team. We recently stayed at Taj Coromandel, primarily due to its close proximity to Apollo Hospital. Our experience exceeded all expectations, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, the reception, lounge, and restaurant teams were wonderfully kind and courteous, always striving to give their best. A special shout-out to Chef Dayalan, Suresh, Sriza, Shafi, Bala, and Venkay, who truly embody the “Tajness” spirit in their service. Their warmth and dedication made our stay not just comfortable, but memorable. Every interaction was marked by genuine care, making us feel valued and well taken care of. We highly recommend Taj Coromandel for anyone looking for a stay where hospitality is taken to the next level.
