I love the Leela brand, and I have stayed at the Leela hotels in multiple locations in India. Each hotel has its own theme and Leela does this extremely well, but I have my favourite, the Leela Palace in Chennai. At the foremost is Leela’s unrivalled hospitality fit for royalty. As soon as the guest arrives the guest is immersed into an environment of luxury where an exceptional service springs into action. The whole team work as clockwork and they do this brilliantly from the meet and greet to the front desk, the concierge to housekeeping, the staff at the lobby/lounge, the restaurants and oh my god Spectra is awesome, the buffet spread is huge, and each food station is unique, the food is extremely delicious (well done to the chefs), eat until you drop is my motto. The décor is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and spacious with 5 star facilities, the courtyard, the swimming pool on the third floor and the landscape gardening are all a must see feature, everywhere you go you are greeted with respect, and everyone is so polite, this is why I have made the Leela Palace my home and I will keep returning in the foreseeable future. Leela Palace is truly the paradise of the south. I have a very long list of people to thank at the hotel: Shimali the director of customer experience who is very passionate about her role and does her utmost best to ensure the guest receives the best and deserving experience that they can possibly get, Rohit (what a gem he is), Sudeshna, Jeetu, Prachi, Prabakah, Suman (housekeeping floor 7), Siva (housekeeping floor 3), Radhika, Souvik (front desk)……the list is endless, so thank you very much Leela Palace for making my stay a pleasant and a special one, see you soon.

Our stay at the Leela was superb! The food was of a consistently, extremely high quality especially the Indian and Chinese dishes. All the staff were very welcoming, happy and helpful, from the waiters and chefs to the receptionists and room cleaners. In particular we must praise the 2 pool attendees, Chandra and Kumar, who were exceptionally helpful, caring and friendly. They really took care of us and made our stay extra special. The only improvement would be to allow guests arriving on early flights to check in early without having to pay for half a day's room fee. The only daily direct flight from the UK is with British Airways which arrives at 5am. We arrived at the Leela at 7.30am and were so tired we just wanted to sleep. We were advised we would have to pay £126 to have our room if we wanted it before 10am. We would have happily paid £40-50 for these 2 and a half hours but not £126. Instead, we payed £17 each and had breakfast instead. It would be good to offer the early check-in at a reasonable rate if it is just 2-3 hours early and the guest is exhausted!

Like I have mentioned my reviews in the past, the whole experience is absolutely, amazing and Leela Palace has struck the right balance. I am a frequent guest, and each time the property has met my expectations. In general it is the wonderful staff from all sections of the hotel who make the experience a comfortable one, they work like clockwork to ensure you are happy with the services and they go out of their way to ensure you are satisfied. The Leela Palace is one of luxury, if you want to be pampered then this is the place, the ambience, the food at the different restaurants, the size and cleanliness of the rooms, the landscaping, the swimming pool on the 3rd floor, there are so many to name. Everything about this place is so amazing from checkin till we checked out on our departure date. The manager and everyone was so helpful and made my family especially my toddler felt like family and home completely. The staff took care of my toddler and made sure we are comfortable. The royal room was amazing. The breakfast spread was huge and so delicious was happy to try each dishes which was there . Staff made sure the menu includes from toddlers taste buds to adults taste buds. The high tea was another highlight which was so good. Loved to stay here again on our visit to Chennai.

The lobby was beautifully designed, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for my stay. My room was immaculate, with elegant decor and all the amenities I could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring I had a restful night's sleep every evening. I appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of my stay, from the cleanliness of the facilities to the prompt service provided by the staff, including Ajit, Vishwas, Diya, Ester, Leyan, Naren, Sudeshna, Mathi, and Ayush Singh. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I can't wait to return!

Loved everything about this hotel. It was a lovely stay. People were warm and lovely. It was an amazing birthday treat from me. Loved the complementary birthday cake. Restaurants and the food was amazingly good. My very fav was the Ghee ponggal. Kudos to the chef as I never tried a ponggal so good as that in any hotels or restaurant. The waiters and the manager at the Chinese restaurant were very helpful to assist my husband on the wheelchair to access the restaurant as it wasn't accessible for him. The hotel even provide a personnel butler for my husband's assistance, was a very lovely thought of them. Kuddos to Leela hotel and hoping for another excellent stay next year.

No words can describe this Beautiful palace hotel! Located in a quiet neighborhood by the sea. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was just perfect. A seamless and efficient process from our check in to check out. They even upgraded our room to a fabulous garden suite and also gave us a late checkout! The complimentary breakfast was quite a feast. Their Indian high tea was delicious. The gym, spa and other facilities were top quality. Friendly and helpful staff and service was excellent. Highly recommend a stay at the Leela Palace.

My room was musty, smelled bad. Clearly not properly aired out. Even after having the AC on for a while, the musty smell did not leave. Very disappointing. The bar was lacking a couple sports channels (which cost Rs. 20 per month to subscribe to), and oddly were available in the guest rooms. Found this odd, especially since they call it a Library bar, and want people to come use the place and feel comfortable.

Absolutely everything - the ambience, the sounds, the smells, the facilities, the spa. I’ve done a lot of travelling in the past but it’s the first time I’ve ever stayed in a hotel after going to Chennai for the last 30 years visiting family and I won’t bother staying anywhere else. It’s a hotel of the most impeccable standards. The gym is huge, the spa is world class and there are subtle touches throughout the hotel that make it superb - like international travel adaptors in the walls, packed lunches when you are leaving your stay etc and even the lifts are never busy even if the hotel is.

This has nothing to do with the hotel as such but the fact it’s a 5 star hotel means you will get some pretentious arrogant guests who think they can talk to the staff in any way they want. One person was giving the waitresses a ‘serve’ for the most minor issues of which then turned around and gave him a serve back. What I was hoping though was that the manager might stand up for his team rather than just cop that behaviour. I think it’s really important to support your staff as they are absolutely lovely and will bend over backwards to ensure guests are treated in the most amazing way!
