We had expected it to be an old property, which it was, but pleasantly it was quite well maintained. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful. In fact, I had enquired about the best route to travel from Madurai to Mysore and to answer my question, they sent one of their staff drivers to my room who gave me all the information happily. That was a very nice gesture. Also, the complimentary fruits in the room was a nice one. A special mention for their restaurant, the breakfast was by-far one of the best spread we had during our tour... excellent South Indian fare and super great filter coffee!!

I had twin beds in my room and I was staying single. I had some weird feeling some time in the night like something was biting or causing itching. I shifted to the other one and then could sleep well. But could be a one-off case, out of the 4 rooms we had taken, no one else had this problem.

Liked the hotel staff.. ALL - House keeping, Front office and Restaurant Staff - are simply good.. No no, Excellent..

The LOCATION of the hotel.. It is FAR AWAY for all important places. Its difficult to get the transport.. For e. g. If we book an auto or a cab thro' OLA, they are supposed to charge us the defined charge but why they are demanding extra amount ? -( which is not practised in Bangalore ( I am from Bangalore ).. W H Y ?

The first thing is proper conveyance is not available because of the location to important places.. The hotel price can still be reviewed and reduced to some reasonable rate.. Thku..

Right from the moment I entered to checkin to checkout date it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at Regency Madurai at GRT hotels… clean, neat and peaceful environment and more importantly great food. The biggest asset of the hotel is its staff.. be it front desk, room service or restaurant the staff went the extra mile to take care of the guests.. definitely coming back again..

Clean and quiet. Staff including restaurant staff were very pleasant and obliging. Vegetarian breakfast spread was very good. Non veg appeared good too. (We stuck to vegetarian food only as this was a temple tour for us) Our driver had accommodation in the hotel.

Access to the hotel was very complicated as GPS tried to take us through narrow streets that weren't big enough for a car !

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room service and cleanliness was good as well.

The swimming pool was really small and as per the images and expectations. Also the room booking said it was room with a view which wasn't there. The room size was very small felt not value for money

great staff.. first day hiccups about occupancy number where we chose 3 people in the booking but the total count the search was put for was for 3 in the reservation tab. the staff fixed that and ensured that our stay was increased on a day by day basis. breakfast and facilities are great.

the prices of the basic items Vs outside in the restaurant are more than double. eg. parotta is 200 rs while in a restaurant it's 50 rs. buffet is reasonable for someone who eats well! there is no beauty treatments in the spa. it's an Ayurvedic Center.

The room was spacious, courteous staff, the swimming pool, though not too big, was good for our needs. The gym is well equipped. The breakfast spread was excellent.

Booking.Com gives the impression that there are multiple beds in the room(by giving options like this: option 1: 1 double bed, 2 single beds, option 2: 1 extra large double bed), it turned out to be not true. They could give you extra beds to accommodate the guests, they do not have rooms with multiple beds to accommodate larger family groups. But they did offer us the extra bed at no cost.

The place was absolutely clean and the staff was extremely professional, helpful, and friendly, particularly @Diwakar, @Muthukumar in housekeeping were very helpful. For example, I had a video conference I had to take from hotel and they changed they did an early clean up of the room to accommodate me.

There were issues with some bathroom door not closing properly and the writing desk a bit shaky. But the moment we reported they got it repaired. There was an issue with wifi early morning 4 AM one day but they set it right by 7 AM after the IT person logged in.

The staff were very courteous and friendly. The chef was amazing and completely took care of my special dietary needs all through, incl packed food for our return home. Cleanliness was excellent, housekeeping very punctual and professional with linen change every day.
