One of a kind Heritage stay - one of our best hotel stays in a cozy sized property. our Heritage Suite was perfection - the kids loved the alcove in which they slept - the room was regally done, but thankfully not over the top as many other properties tend to do. The food was exceptionally good - and the staff & service matched the food (thanks Pramod for making our stay a memorable one). The small Pool maintained the heritage vibes and contrary to our plans, we ended spending some time in the pool. The massage by the poolside was a bonus. OUTSTANDING !!

I wish we had been informed about some of the activities (Yoga or Music) when we checked in - we would have loved to fit it into our schedule.

We stayed at Svatma Tanjavur for two nights (Jan 20 and Jan 21, 2024). We were on vacation for the first time in India in a decade and we had an outstanding experience at Svatma. The hotel's ambience was outstanding and exquisitely beautiful. Everything was exceptional—from the hotel's location; to the room quality, cleanliness, and amenities; to the outstanding breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner; to the bar; and to the professionalism and hospitality of the staff in every department.  Please kindly let all of your staff know how much we enjoyed our stay, and how much we appreciated their prompt services and superb hospitality. themed rooms and amenities friendly front desk staff during check in *comfortable and well appointed rooms *they automatically upgraded us to a bigger room to accommodate 3 adults and 1 kid which helpful though booking.com did tell us it could accommodate our family when we booked

*wifi did not work even after contacting front desk for help *food was very average *hot water takes a good 3-5 minutes resulting in a lot of wastage of water *lack of sleeping rooms for drivers *they don’t take international credit cards which is a bummer

few things that went wrong ( summarized below) made this a mediocre experience. The property is beautiful, but we did not get the true value or experience we deserved.

1) In a couples room there was only one towel - I called housekeeping/ reception desk, told them my husband was in the shower & requested a towel quickly - no kidding it took 3 phone calls & -10 mins to get the towels. 2) internet was not working 3) Ordered Kingfisher beer ( from the menu) at the rooftop bar - they didn’t have it 4) Ordered Fig, walnut , saffron kulfi ( from the menu) at dinner - they didn’t have it. When the hotel charges considerably they should provide service appropriately.

The property was clean and very well kept. The rooms were cozy and the facilities were excellent as well. I travelled with my 18 month old daughter and hence we had a lot of special requests, but the staff was very welcoming and did everything they can to accommodate our requests and make our stay a very pleasant one. I have to mention that the restaurant, while having only few options, served really good vegetarian cuisine. There were also some good local classical music performances that they organised which was very good indeed. Overall a really good stay.

The bathrooms were quite small. There was a lot of initial confusion with the rooms that we booked and the staff were unable to figure out what the mistake. Eventually we had to repack and change our room the next day, but the staff were still quite understanding and made it easier that it would have been.

We were booked at the Millenum suite but when we saw it, we were a bit taken aback. It didn't look as good as it did in the photos, the outer room was dull and shabby and the bathroom was small - overall a bit depressing and just not worth the amount we paid for it. To their credit they gave us a free upgrade to the Heritage suite which was lovely. Much brighter and cleaner and more like a heritage place. The bathroom is spacious and has a unique old fashioned washstand with mirrors. The food served at the restaurant was very good, especially the Kerala thali which they serve only during lunch hours. The spa is also very good. All members of the staff were polite, helpful and ever smiling.

The shower in the Heritage suite was a bit weird. It showered spurts of cold water in between the hot water spurts.

Everything is thoughtfully arranged. The food was great. The emphasis on wellness programs was much appreciated. The on-arrival welcome to the hotel & city was detailed and helpful. The hotel organizes amazing activities and experiences for its guests. All of these offerings are absolutely superb and high-quality. For the price, it's unbelievable how good this place is.

The hotel's infrastructure (e.g. the gym, bathrooms) could use a refresher, if the hotel is going to compete on an international level. Nevertheless, the hotel's condition was definitely above anything else that I've experienced in the region.

We liked the hotel as it fitted our requirement of a serene and quiet place to celebrate our anniversary with family. Fantastic boutique luxury hotel with excellent service. We loved that the hotel restaurants were pure vegetarian as well. Very rare to find such.

Newspaper service could have been provided. Deluxe room windows were small, but the suite we booked was very bright with a large balcony.(though sharing with other rooms)

Food was fantastic. We had all meals in the hotel and enjoyed each one of them. Service was very good. The hotel gives you a very nice and warm feel. My sister stayed in this hotel a few years ago and again this time. She said that they have maintained their high standards, which is wonderful.

Overall the hotel do define the category of "Heritage & Luxury" combined to give a beautiful stay within the Thanjavur city. The room, lobby, & overall ambience is excellent. The hotel do have a parking facility and since its location is in a peaceful neighborhood, parking is not an issue. Overall, good experience. The front desk staff are good and manages very well.

The staff at the restaurant (service team) really needs training and guidance. The food was decent however there was lot of delays in delivery and service. There was no manager at the restaurant to oversee it. Being a luxury hotel and expensive too, client would expect a good to great services from all aspects. This was a major shortfall of this hotel.
