Gayatri is tucked away down a small lane, away from the main street. Hence it is very serene and it makes us feel like we are in a tropical oasis. It is located at the town centre and walking distance to Monkey Forest, the palace, Campuhan Ridge Walk, Sweet Orange Trail and countless eateries and shops. We stayed in a ground floor family villa with extra large ensuite and a large patio/terrace. Love the huge bathroom and the water pressure of the shower is great! The beds have mosquito nets which is a bonus because there’s one or two mozzies at night. The swimming pool is just right in front of our villa and it’s very clean. The hotel ground is very well-maintained with manicured lush green shrubs and trees. The whole place looks magical at night when the lights are on. We love the Balinese vibe of this place and the villas with traditional Balinese architecture. We were very impressed with Gayatri plant-based breakfast menu. Every morning we looked forward to having 1 cold drink(beautiful fresh fruit juice and kombucha drink), 1 hot drink and 2 food items (Breakfast included in room price). There are 14 food items to choose from and we have tried all of them. I must say that not very often we get to eat wholesome, fresh, nutritious and delicious food for breakfast while on holiday. The food is fit for the soul and the food presentation is a feast to the eyes. Keep up the good work!!! It’s a privilege for us to have a long and pleasant conversation with the owner of Gayatri on the last day of our stay. The world needs more business owners like him who places the welfare of his employees, guests and environmental sustainability above profit. Thumbs up for the owner who chooses to place a water dispensing machine(cold, room temperature and hot water) in the room instead of providing bottled water. A big thank you to the entire team in Gayatri. You made us feel like “kings and “queens”! :)))

This is an absolutely incredible property with classic Balian architecture and art. The pool was so pleasant and cooling. Breakfast was delicious and vegan, let you choose your own from a menu that had Western and Indonesian options! Easy access to walk or taxi around town, monkey forest, shopping. Also nice and quiet within the grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent staff, great vegan breakfast and amazing location for walking around Ubud downtown. Plenty of restaurants nearby and local bars.

The room we had started dripping water from the ceiling (A/C issue). After a couple of days, we had to change the location. The staff was courteous enough to switch to an equivalent accommodation the same day. The bottled water in our room tasted weird (had some sweet/cough syruppy taste). We reported this immediately to the reception but apparently it wasn't taken seriously. The sofa was ok in one room and not the other. TV sizes were non-standard. You do need to pay attention to the pictures and select an appropriate room.

- Absolutely delicious breakfast served right in front of our own room (stayed in a Family room) and that was perfect for our family. They also provided a high-chair for our baby. - Lovely buildings - Central location in Ubud with many things within walking distance (Ridgewalk and Monkey Forest f.ex.) - Helped us organise a half day trip to rice fields and some temples at a quite fair price - You truly aren’t bothered by the hustle and bustle of Ubud because the property is tucked away from the main road

- Small thing but: Timing of the cleaning was off some days. Where we had been away for several hours and they still hadn’t made up the room upon our return.

Gayatri is located at a brilliant location, it's walkable from a lot of great restaurants and tourist spots. The staff at Gayatri went over and above to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast and all room service options were brilliant and so beautifully presented, all at the comfort of your room. We personally also found the food a great value for money. The pool was clean and of a comfortable temperature. The in room Entertainment was great with all services ranging from prime, netflix and apple tv made available. We were put up on the 3rd floor ( there's no lift, so you might want to ask for a lower floor if you would find taking the stairs difficult ), but the views from our room and verandah every morning was brilliant !! This is a brilliant resort, and I'd easily visit again and recommend to anyone else.

Loved this place! Our room was very comfortable and had 5-star amenities - toiletry packs, plush towels, dressing gowns, tea and coffee making facilities, fresh fruit platter, bar fridge, safe, awesome aircon... really we couldn't ask for anything more. There were even umbrellas on the porch and a drying rack for wet stuff. Our stay had breakfast included and it was a feast every morning. Delicious vegan food beautifully presented, with a lot of the produce apparently coming from the owner's organic farm. We had dinner there a couple of times too, just lovely being served in one of the two outdoor dining areas of the resort. There is a nice big pool, and a paved walkway past it to a bit more land and an avocado orchard. We had very pleasant early morning walks listening to bird calls and the sound of the river down below. Gayatri's location is perfect; it's a short walk down a lane off Monkey Forest Rd (not even a minute), which meant while it was practically in the centre of town it was away from the traffic noise. It felt like a rural retreat yet it was seconds away from the bustle of Ubud. I loved the Balinese architecture and decor, the friendly and accommodating staff, the food and everything... kudos to the owner for his vision for this place! I can't wait to go back.

Not really a major issue, but the lane is narrow so cars can't drive down it. We hired a private car with driver so we had to coordinate pickups as the traffic on the main road can be really bad, but there is a car park a couple minutes' walk away. When dropping off, we had to quickly jump out at the lane entrance. Luggage is not a problem, as the hotel staff were very helpful taking them to the lane entrance for us when we checked out.

Gayatri is truly an amazing place: a lovely oasis of beauty, relaxation & traditional Balinese charm. Ideally located near to monkey forest and Ubud’s hustle & bustle but in a small green peaceful lane. Gayatri is more of a Balinese palace, with 2 traditional building blocks and amazing swimming pool and a very well taken care of green garden. I am very happy I booked my stay here for 5 nights. I chose room 16: very spacious, bright, and super clean. The bed is very comfortable. Each room is individually decorated to a theme with beautiful Balinese touches in furnishings, curtains, quality linens etc, It was also nice to have the small fridge, a boiler and a complimentary welcome fruit basket. Just loved! At night, the place become simply magical. The food prepared by the hotel was also amazing! Breakfast is included and you have to choose daily (night before) what to order: there are many vegetarian options, very well presented, and they are very generous with the portions. You can also choose where to have it served: your room or the eating areas in the garden. Simply DELICIOUS (the dragon fruit bowl is amazing!) The staff are absolutely lovely: smiling, kind and accommodating. Even before I arrived, they got in touch with me via whatsapp to give me all the instructions to find the place, to propose transportation service etc.. highly appreciated. Can’t recommend this place enough! Absolutely loved it and will be back!

The only small thing for me was the very loud (19-21h30) daily live music in a café /restaurant located in front of the hotel.

Room 16 big, Aircon perfect, comfortable bed and good bathroom - all very good for Ubud. Clean towels etc daily, coffee and tea water boiler in room.

Room 16 is directly opposite a bar/restaurant with a LIVE BAND / SLOW ROCK from 5 to 10pm daily. Outside those hours perfect!! Breakfast is ONLY available as strict vegan / plant based, no eggs, milk butter etc - but close to many restos that you can buy breakfast. Nice for a change for younger guests but elderlies like what they usually have! Thanks

The location was great, near the top end of Monkey Forest road, but set back down a lane way, so it was nice and quiet. The breakfasts were delicious. It's just a shame I couldn't stay longer to try everything. The staff couldn't do enough for me, they were so friendly and respectful. The gardens were so beautifully kept, very serene with flowing water fountains and lotus ponds. I would come back here next time I visit Ubud

Probably the only negative was there's a school next door, so it's a little noisy in the mornings, due to my rooms location. I would request to be further situated from that side of the property.
