Excellent breakfast - choice and quality. Lovely, spacious, quiet room, great views, comfortable bed and loved the decor. Great service from staff, felt really special here and everyone was so friendly. Spa is incredible. Pools are amazing. Loved the floating breakfast, spa treatments and romantic dinner. Amazing touches with robes and bags to use complimentary with the stay. Hotel manager went out his way to speak with us, learn our names and room, and ensure we were enjoying our stay.

No mosquito net around the bed. So many bugs - we used some insect repellent before dinner and came back to about 150 dead ants. A gecko fell on my head in our villa. Lizards in our room. Poor lighting at night - couldnt do makeup well and almost stepped on frogs. No plug sockets near mirrors - hard to do hair. Pool was much smaller and colder than expected in our villa, didnt end up using much because of it. We booked a romantic dinner and staff got the wrong date, we almost were charged a fee and told we couldnt do it anymore but this was rectified thankfully.

I arrived around 3pm. The staff put me waiting in the lobby for almost 1 hr. At the same time, they gave a room to an American couple in 10min they arrived. The next day when I finished my massage around 12:30 (their only available time slot) and asked for a late check out around 1pm. The staff was rude and said no to me. I need to beg her for 15min to go back to the room and get changed. And the door key was expired so I had to go to reception again to validate it. To be honest it’s an awful experience for a luxury resort.

Out of the hustle and bustle of the busy roads and towns, this resort was so quiet, peaceful and offered true R&R. We had a villa with a private pool, the buffet breakfast was great and catered for Gluten Free station (my husband is Coeliac) and the Spa overlooking the riverside was stunning. The resort has great facilities, gym, 2 x pools (3 if you count the small baby pool) nice and spacious, security gate at the entrance (not that this worried us) there is several locations to eat, the Riverside Cafe does some great Italian food.

The only 1 thing I could think of was the damp smell in the villa from the AC machine but that is also understandable given the amount of rain that falls each day. Everything else was impeccable and the staff we all very friendly and accommodating.

We stayed at the Maya for a total of 5 nights in a pool villa room. The experience at the Maya Was exceptional. From the food, the staff, the experiences (we did a Villa Grill and used the spa 120 minute couples package). The location of the hotel is in the heart of the jungle in Ubud and the nature surrounding the hotel was breathtaking. They offer a lot of complimentary services - yoga / rice paddy walking tour/ forest trail hiking and free afternoon tea. All the services were incredible. The room was extremely clean, the pool was maintained daily and they fogg for mosquitoes, which there was no issue at all with! The breakfast buffet was super delicious and the lunch and dinner menus were amazing ! All the food and drinks were of extremely high standard. And finally. The staff at the Maya From the front office, the gardeners, the chefs and the waiting staff were always so helpful, full of smiles making you feel like home. Maya was one of the best hotels I have ever visited and would not hesitate to return !! 100/10 recommend for anyone visiting Ubud or Bali In general

Nothing - everything was incredible

This hotel made our stay in ubud extraordinary. It meets our expectations and needs; it has breathtaking outdoors, as it has big rice farm, and hiking paths besides the river, spa in the middle of the jungle and plenty of other activities like dancing shows, afternoon tea and yoga classes Also, great food; even if you order a room service Also, has free hourly shuttle that takes you to the centre of Ubud which is about 10-15 minutes away we stayed in a villa pool and the villa size and design was lovely to us with a great view to the jungle. However, We faced different types wizards and jungle sounds that made us inconvenient at first but we get used to it as a part of Ubud experience

Curtains was not effective in blocking sunlight in the morning.

Beautiful resort in the jungle, spectacular facilities (pool, spa, bars & restaurants) and our room was absolutely incredible - I have never stayed in such a luxury resort. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa and it was absolutely beautiful. It overlooked the jungle and was incredibly spacious and comfortable for our stay. The bed was AMAZING and air con worked perfectly. We had a plunge pool and sun loungers which were perfect for basking in the morning Ubud sun. We also organised a floating breakfast which was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen/eaten. The resort is just wonderful, I could have spent a lot more time there! Staff so friendly and helpful, you are made to feel really special. The resort put on a shuttle to Ubud town, but we took taxis in at night time when the traffic was quieter 9using the GRAB app) and it was so quick and easy to reach the town centre and all the wonerful restaurants on offer in Ubud. The location made this place even better. So close to the action but so serene and quiet and you really feel at peace here as soon as you enter the gates.

Sensational view, staff are extremely helpful, prompt and friendly, the spa was insanely gorgeous and the two infinity pools just took our breathe away!

The Forrest walk was challenging because we got attacked the whole time by mosquitoes. I would suggest that they provide mosquito repellent so we could’ve enjoyed it more.

A lovely expansive resort where you will never get bored while maintaining a calm and authentic retreat feel throughout. Clean inside and out be it rooms, facilities or landscaping. The first thing you notice are the massive grounds that encompass hiking trails, private farms, river walks, gardens, resting and lookout areas, lounges, a large kids club, health club, yoga studio, spa, pools and temple. The ‘heavenly pool villa’ is a large studio set up, our kids slept on the couch ( 100x200cm), the hotel will try to charge for extra beds but it was honestly enough comfortably without any extra beds or cots. It was disappointing that the king bed was 2 single mattresses pushed together so you feel the edges down the middle uncomfortably, there are many options to avoid this, we expected a bit better of a bed option. They have 3 pillow options to choose from and amenities are lovely Sensatia products. The restaurants have a varied menu and staff are flexible to modify orders or make to order. The breakfast buffet was interesting, but we stuck to a la carte orders which are included in the breakfast package. The breakfast BAKERY AND PASTRY area is one of the best I’ve sampled anywhere in the world: their pastries are fresh and delicious with something for everyone. Dinner shows are available everyday, with the local dances and theatres being the best ones (legong and kecak). The pools are lovely with staff available serving food and drinks; the riverside pool is alot more luxurious but is for adults only. I have to say it’s an absolutely gorgeous setting by the river. The spa is very pricey for Bali, but about standard for international 5* hotels. The kids club was beautiful with indoor and outdoor areas and varied activities to choose from; monitors are available and kids above 4 can be dropped off if parents want time at the adult pool. Dewi at mayasari was an amazing professional that lifts the service to another level of courtesy and welcome.

Just some suggestions: kids club close at 1:30 though which was a shame, a later close makes a world of difference, 4 or 5 would have been amazing so parents can better enjoy the resort. we weren’t too excited for a violin show or a more modern musical, we love the traditional shows.

Beautifully situated with amazing surroundings. Very friendly staff, we felt welcomed and looked after. There is a shuttle to take to Ubud that is vibrant town with amazing spa, shops and cool restaurants. You should all experience their spa at least once with amazing views by the river. Very relaxing and calm. Nice weekly program to keep active and serene.

All were perfect. Maybe dinner selections could be improved as a lot of European dishes. Asian and especially Indonesian food offering is so wide you should be proud and offer more choices.

The greenery! Its big and has lots to offer. It’s own forest walk and rice farm especially are convenient. 2 infinity pools, forest and river.. didn’t use these but were beautiful. The heavenly villa was exactly that. Had all we needed and more. Loved our own space and felt very secluded. The floating breakfast was super amazing. The staff are so kind, especially at the restaurants. All the food was tasty and good variety of choice. Great power options with universal plugs and usb.

Not that I didn’t like it, but the open style eating at restaurants can be challenging for bugs at night but they do provide repellent which helps. Wasn’t an issue for us and was nice to be under cover and eating during the storm. There are lots of steps at this property. May not be good for kids? The spa is in a beautiful spot, open in the wilderness but felt a bit unsafe leaving in the dark with the steps and being wet. There is lighting but it’s minimal.
