The location couldn't be more central and the distance to the Monkey Forrest is easily walkable with kids. We enjoyed that the family room had its own verandah with lots of beautiful carvings and furniture to lounge in. The breakfast was amazing value for money, lots of fresh fruit and it was made to order each morning. You don't have a big menu to choose from, but that didn't bother us since what they had was nice and fresh, and big portions too. There are lots of restaurants around for the other meals. We enjoyed the pool every day to cool down and play. It was on the cold side, so we opted for a couple of shorter visits a day rather than long swim sessions, but we also visited in January. The grounds are like a maze of beautiful buildings and we loved it. It was surprisingly quiet at night. There were some live in animals with big personalities, but our kids enjoyed that. The guard dog barks a lot at everyone entering, but keeps a respectful distance. Reception is always manned and the staff was helpful with everything we asked for. If you want cleaning in your room you just need to ask and leave your key with reception. We did not expect much from the room and were pleasantly surprised. Especially with the outside. Air con was very efficient. All in all we had a charming stay!

We went and bought some insect spray after the first night. The only way to air out was to keep everything open, but then you let in the mosquitos so it is a balance. Shower leaked quite a bit, but there was hot water. One bed was more comfortable than the other.

Breakfast good. Due to the extreme heat for a Westerner the central location was perfect.

No Wifi and TV didn't work.

I loved the authentic Indonesian appeal of this property. The rooms were large and comfortable. Great location, entry is off the market street down the lane from the Main Street of Ubud. Staff were lovely.

There are many room/ floor levels at this property and generally accessible by steps and elevated walkways. While this was not a problem for our group but it could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Also, as the entrance is not accessible by any vehicle you have to walk a few hundred yards with your luggage to access the property. Not a problem for us as we loved the property but could be an issue for others.

I was quite impressed when I entered the property, beautiful traditional Balinese temple style. The location was right on the centre, you actually have to walk through the markets to get to the accommodation, so don't bring too much luggage. The staff helped us to hire a super cheap motorbike and massage and the breakfast was actually quite good, the omelette was super yummy. Fantastic value for money.

The room could be a little bit cleaner, the sheets had weird marks on them and the overall cleaning of the room and toilet was quite off. However, the price was really cheap, so if you expect a very cheap backpacker' cleaning style you will be fine!

Staff are very approachable and the breakfast is good! There is also a spa inside the compound. The location is in the middle of the market so you can just walk to almost everything that you need (accessibility). The place is surprisingly peaceful and quiet despite being at the center of a busy area.

Rooms can only be accessed by stairs which is a little difficult especially when you carry a heavy luggage. The water pressure inside the room is low so you take longer in the shower.

Could not be happier. This is the best you can get in Ubud. Like staying in a temple. Grounds are simply perfect .Anywhere you look there are sculptures and great architecture. You are in the market and yet it is so quite. Great pool too. Each room is so unique and different. You can always find your perfect match. I HAVE.

Absolutely stellar experience at Sania’s House in Ubud, Bali! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable stay. The service was impeccable, with everyone being incredibly polite and helpful. The swimming pool was a dream, the food delicious, and my room was always clean and tidy. Special shoutout to Ayu, who was an absolute gem and made my stay even more enjoyable with her sweetness and attentiveness. I can't recommend this hotel enough – it's a true gem in the heart of Bali!

Absolutely nothing to complain about

Gorgeous place, we stayed on the top floor and the views from the balcony were incredible over the centre of Ubud. There was is plenty of seating areas down by the pool/garden area although we did not have time to use it. Location very central in the middle of the art market.

Beds were quite uncomfortable, plastic covered mattress that you could feel and hear when you turn at night. Some stairs up to our apartment (not an issue for us but maybe a problem with suitcases). No free drinking water available.

The building was gorgeous and very relaxing! The rooms were a good size!

The bathrooms were a little unclean and smelt of damp. Not cleaned during our stay and had to request toilet roll.

The gardens, the architecture, the pool, the atmosphere were amazing. It was a unique place to stay with a very authentic balinese feel, also really quiet which was surprising as it was right on a street market. the location was awesome - two minutes walk to the main indoor markets and 10 minutes walk to the monkey forest. we appreciated that our request for a change of room to an airconditioned one was granted as soon as one was available.

the bathroom in our bungalow was very basic and dated , the bed was not as comfortable as it could have been. Our children had a nicer bungalow with a really good bathroom. So I think there is not consistency between the rooms - which is understandable in such a big place with this type of architecture. When we arrived there was no wi fi and it did not come on until later the next day. not a big deal but a bit inconvenient. The staff were good at telling us about it and were very patient when we asked about it the next day. There are lots of stairs in this place and no lifts, this was not an issue for us, but if you have mobility issues I would ask for a ground floor room with the least amount of steps required.
