Location - close to everything in Ubud yet secluded enough, Views - unbeatable, only property in Ubud directly on the river; other properties are further up on hills/cliffs. At this property, you can reach out and put your hand in the river, it's that close. GREAT air conditioning

Food - seems to be a recurring theme with 4/5 star hotels in Bali. Perhaps on a standalone basis it's good, but if I am eating food in a very unique property on a balcony with jaw dropping views, I expect the quality of the food to match the quality of everything else - especially at these prices ($400 to $500+/night). Menu look and feel is late 2000s. This issue applies to both the breakfast buffet and in-room dining. Ordered a romantic dinner at the villa and the food was a 6/10. Nevertheless, my significant other absolutely loved the surprise. Food gets a 6/10 ; only because they could and SHOULD do much better because they are better! On a standalone basis, the food gets an 7/10. Easy fixes to get Royal Pita Maha to a 10/10 in their F&B experience.

We were a little reluctant to come over to the hotel after reading the bad reviews about the hotel being run down or needing renovation. Or some people complaining about small animals in their villa. As often the case, these bad reviews are a complete exaggeration! If you're staying in the jungle, of course, there's a high chance that a lizard or a gecko will crawl into your villa... The same goes for renovation: any stone or straw structure will decay sooner and have moss forming on it in extremely warm and humid climates aka the jungle. If you're not comfortable with that- stay by the beach and not Ubud. The hotel manages the property very well, it is clean, they scrub the moss off the stone structures daily, everyone's super friendly, the villa is large and comfy, the private infinity pool is clean and well maintained, the massages were excellent and the views from the lobby/main restaurant are simply stunning. The hotel and the Spa are genuinely beautiful!!! Especially taking into account the low price. There are some derelict parts of the resort by the river that you cannot actually see from the well-maintained/new villas up the hill, but it was interesting to "hike" down there and explore the derelict parts as we felt a bit like Tomb Raider in the jungle:) The receptionist said they were abandoned during Covid, so one can actually see how quickly the jungle takes over in just 2 years...

The restaurant wasn't that great. there was a huge choice, but something was a bit off. Anyways, Ubud has plenty of good restaurants so it wasn't a problem to go out for dinners elsewhere- the taxi to downtown is like 30mins max and literally costs like 5 euros.

The Royal Pita Maha is an incredible hotel. We had a royal pool villa room - the pool and room are very big and comfortable - perfect to rest and enjoy the incredible jungle view. The highlight is by far the spa - the prices overall were very fair and the quality of the food was excellent. The view from the main breakfast and restaurant is one of the best in Ubud

They are doing some renovations across the resort which is quite good as it needs a bit of a modern revamp

Amazing hotel. As soon as you walk in you feel peace and tranquillity. The villa had an amazing view and the pool was fantastic. I highly recommend it if you want to relax for a few days is the place to be

The location was 20 minutes drive from Ubud centre and they had only 3 shuttles per day. You kind of have to work out your way to and back from the hotel but that is what makes it exclusive.

Infinity pool villa was superb and massive!! Felt like queens. Breakfast was great with many options and egg station. The grounds were stunning...didn't feel like we needed to go anyway, however we did take the free hotel shuttle into town a couple of nights. Beautiful restaurants and the day spa was spectacular! We had a massage every day, which was pure bliss.

We, a family of 3, booked a Royal Pool Villa - the rooms were very spacious and included a private pool with stunning forest vistas. Staff were very helpful. Beautiful lush green resort with traditional wood furnishing in the room. The resort itself is quite huge and has a public infinity pool, a flowing river and a small waterfall inside the property. Dining: The resort gave a complimentary floating breakfast for one day. We dined at a restaurant by the river through which we saw quite a few rafting boats cross the rapids. Very good food and beverage options - both at the restaurants and for room service. A couple of days we asked for breakfast to be served in our rooms and they were provided without any problems. Services: We required the services of a doctor and they assisted us immediately even though it was in the middle of the night. Since the resort is in the middle of the forest, we had to call the hotel to remove a couple of insects from inside the room - which the hotel attended to immediately without delay. No mosquito problems. The resort also arranged for a complimentary photo shoot. We had to pay for the digital photos though. Taxi: Resort is about 20 - 25 mins from Ubud center. For travel to Ubud, they have complimentary drop offs 2 or 3 times a day. Rest of the time hotel car is available.

Nothing as such. As vegetarians, there were limited options for breakfast and Indian food. The resort is in the middle of the forest, you may sometimes have insects and lizards in the room which are harmless though. The resort is located on a slope and we had to climb lot of steps each time. This point may need to be considered for people with mobility/breathing challenges.

Best team, they are the jewel of resort! The serenity, the healing villa & our pool, the spa, selections of breakfast, the jungle resort itself is beautiful. Its a massive place to explore first before visiting the neighborhoud or outside the resort. Must dine in the arung lake resto you feel relaxed with the sound of lake & nature view.

The elevator was out of service for 4 days! I feel so bad for their staff that doing the room service during the rainy nights and checking out bringing up to the lobby our big luggages, the management should know how hard it is not only for their guest but for their team!. The elevator usually under maintenance for 24 hrs only! The villa we stayed are not for elderly, with knee and leg problem, difficulty on climbing stairs and people of determination.

Room is comfy and very huge. Private pool, garden, living area, view, sound of nature. It was amazing. Whole resort was amazing, you can walk and discover every corner. We didn't go out of the hotel, because of our honeymoon. We planned our trip after here. Private pool is very special but because you are in the nature, you can see mosquitos, frogs and geckos. However, It wasn't problem for us, we were ready about them. Public infinity pool and holy spring are also very good. Breakfast was very good, we got open buffet in first two days in, you need to walk, climb for it. But the menu range is quite wide. On the last day we got floating breakfast. It was a good experience again. Staff were kind, helpful and amazing. Thanks for all the gifts.

Restaurants' lunch and dinner prices are quite high compared to Ubud Center. Of course it is luxury hotel.

Absolutely the best in Ubud! We have been to Ubud for a few days and each night we tried a similar price villa in a different resort, It is the easiest thing for me to say that The Royal Pita Maha was by far the best out of all! To begin with, very very big resort full of master artworks of all kinds, beautiful Landscaping, super clean, Multiple Pools such as holy water pool and a lagoon along side the river, Its own waterfall, Im speechless about all the different things this resort can offer, its the whole package! Very Helpful staff, Very good Location, beautiful views everywhere, Lots of social media contents could be created. It was absolutely amazing. Furthermore, the Villa itself was Huge, Super Clean and Super safe for the Ubud area, very well maintained, very comfortable, Large private pool overlooking the beautiful views, Large Bathroom, Two large Tvs, the only villa you would feel safe to use the pool even at nights. It was just exceptional! At last but not least, this resorts had many restaurants compared to other resorts we have been and I must say the food was simply delicious, It was so good that we decided to go back from our next resort to here just for dinner, all our dietary requests were respected, and our floating breakfast was super super delicious, that you couldn’t resist to order more.

A bit of walking, it was not so much for Us but that was the only only thing that someone might not like about this resort.

Hotel is very well decorated and staffs are very helpful. Pool is very big and nice and provides superb view of mountain. Depth of the pool is not much so anyone without swimming skills can enjoy the pool, also temperature of water in the pool is well maintained. We have enjoyed pool breakfast and shot some memorable pics of infinity pool. Breakfast was nice and delicious with lot of different items. Lots of activities available in the hotel like free yoga session and discounted spa etc.

Interior lighting inside the rooms are poor and rooms are little bit old fashioned. Doors are required to be kept closed all the time as insects, lizards and small spiders were all around bushes outside the room.
