The food is freshly prepared and safe (e.g. they make sure that the ice is made from drinking water) and the resort is just like paradise. The spa is amazing directly at the river near the tropical forest. There are also direct rice field views from the resort. I can highly recommend to stay in villa semana. It's in the outskirts of Ubud, however, there is a free shuttle service to the city centre and Ubud City is very busy and loud. Thus, it's always nice to come back after a tour to this peaceful and beautiful resort. Also, Ubud is the center for culture in Bali and much more authentic than party places like Seminyak. It's great for couples but also families and friends as the bathroom door can be fully closed.

Beautilful tranquil setting and characterful individual villas within the resort. The spa setting was particularly good, lovely main pool area and good to have own pool at villa too. Staff were very friendly. We made good use of the free shuttle bus service into ubud.

Although set well back from the road, the location and lack of pavements made it difficult to walk to anywhere else. It was very much a resort based stay or get a car to somewhere else. There was a lack of things to do at the resort and we felt it could have benefitted from some board games for example. We had a 2 bedroom villa and whilst the main bedroom was very good, the smaller second room was somewhat poorer in comparison. It was also downstairs and across the open lounge area from the main room which actually led to our teenage daughter who we were travelling with feeling a little nervous about staying there.

Herri and his staff were very helpful, gracious, and accommodating. I couldn't have had a better place to stay. The grounds are kept impeccably, and my room was very nice. I will definitely come back.

The resort is fantastic. Friendly staff who go above and beyond to help, always with a smile on their faces. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the view of the river is amazing. Great pool area. This is our second time staying here and it’s the place we would choose to stay if we come back to Ubud.

Set in beautiful country side this hotel is a real treat. We had our own pool and the mail pool is amazing. The staff are lovely and can not do enough for you.

The locations, the structure and the nature surrounding the hotel are amazing. The private pool and the infinity pool which is looking over the river are gorgeous. Also the staff was very kind.

However our total valuation is not a 5 stars because of some details that should be taken into account for a luxury resort like villa semana is suppose to be: 1) breakfast is very repetitive: for continental one you can basically have just eggs cooked in different ways but that's all. If you ask for two coffee the second is covered a part (not good from a commercial point of view); 2) one day we order fried chicken and chicken wings at the pool and both were sold out and the menu still didn't give many other options; 3) when we were leaving they call us to the room to ask if we consumed something from the minibar. Even though we said no, when they came to our room 5 minutes later to help us with luggage, they open the minibar in very unpleasant way to check if we were sincere. That's not something polite expected in a resort like this, you should do it in a smarter way (not in front of the guest). We are writing this based on our experience in other resorts in Indonesia, for the same price these details make the difference.
