We recently stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and was genuinely surprised by just how excellent the experience was. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and exceeded my expectations. The hotel offers a fantastic selection of dining options, with two great restaurants, a lively bar, and even a private residence bar, making it easy to find the perfect atmosphere to unwind. The food was absolutely fantastic—every meal was a delight. The amenities were equally impressive. The pool, spa, and gym were top-notch, providing the perfect balance of relaxation and fitness options. The facilities were well-maintained and added an extra layer of luxury to the stay. Above all, the management and staff were outstanding. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and friendliness truly set the Sheraton apart. They made the experience even more enjoyable with their top-class service. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be returning. A truly fantastic stay!

My stay at Sheraton was amazing. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the train station, which is a great catch. After booking, the hotel reservation team sent me a link to its website, which has fabulous ideas of activities you can explore while in Athlone. There was constant communication from the team ahead of my arrival. It was my birthday and they made it so special, the personnel at the reception wished me a Happy Birthday as I walked in, and on walking to into my room I was welcomed with a plate of cake, chocolate and a birthday card from the hotel management. Everything about my stay was perfect. The pool, spa, breakfast, and dinner were indeed amazing. The staff are so courteous, they were always ready to help and were beaming with smiles always. I highly recommend and would definitely return when next I visit Athlone. The oldest pub in Ireland, "Sean's bar," is a 10 mins walk away, too 😊

Nothing. Everything was perfect

The room was at the top of the hotel and was palatial with excellent views and a huge bathroom. Getting to the room involved multiple lifts and wandering through a warren of corridors. parking was helpful and made using the hotel easy. we had dinner in the bar one night and it was just about ok quality wise.

At over 300 euro, the room rate was pretty high but reflects the lack of availability in the city overall. I've stayed at many similar hotels and this one is around average with a fairly high price tag. We did have a pretty spectacular room at the top of the hotel but were really only looking for a standard room to spend the night.

The deluxe double room in the Tower was very roomy, with a floor to ceiling corner window so it was very bright. Comfortable armchairs and side table. Mini fridge, iron ironing board, hairdryer, white towling bathrobes. Kettle and coffee machine. Small pool, which is adult only from 7-9pm. Jacuzzi, excellent gym. Very friendly staff, especially Izzy our porter. He was great fun! Breakfast from 7-11 am, buffet and very good. Free car parking which is in the shopping centre. You can get a lift directly from the shopping centre to the hotel and it's easy to find.

There are no lifts that go directly to rooms in the Tower. You have to change lifts to get to those rooms and there's a bit of a walk from lift to lift. Also the hotel is a bit of a maze. It's quiet in the bar most evenings, the opposite of the bar in the Radisson Blu, which is lively.

Good choice at breakfast. Dishes refilled as required.

More staff training on laundry. Seemed some confusion between laundry list and reality. We found out personal laundry went to Galway!!! Only got it back when we were on the outskirts of town leaving. .It went to reception before 9.00 on Thurs and got a call around 16.00 on the Monday.!!!! Poor lighting for putting on makeup. Took some time to get room made up. Perhaps staff shortage in this area. Had to ask to have it made up on one occasion. Too similar menus in the main restaurant and the bistro bar

Very spacious room with panoramic windows, loved that, plenty of facilities, e.g. iron and board, towelling robe and slippers, quality towels, and appreciated green options. Use of Nespresso proved too difficult for me, got the sequence wrong, you need instructions. Loved the spacious bed, pillows, glad no piles of extra pillows! plenty of wardrobe space, fridge I had to ask about. Again a card explaining how it functioned, glad to have a safe.

Instructions for Nespresso machine lacking, on closer inspection would say the room needed a refit. E.G. stain by window on carpet, veneer peeling on coffee/tea area, tiles in bathroom marked in places. Public areas very impressive and choice of venues, however whilst waiting for friends thought some chairs by entrance certainly needed replacing, some worn to thread. Very surprised at that. One black sofa very tired, In summary enjoyed the spaciousness of the reception areas etc. Would stay there again, very good location as I used the train

Breakfasts were very good, as was the dinner we had in the hotel - the fixed price dinner menu offered good value for money when compared with similar menus in the town of Athlone,

The car park is shared with the integral shopping centre. We arrived on a Saturday and it was difficult to find a parking space near to the hotel entrance because of weekend shoppers, and we had tp park in the lower car park B. The entrance to the hotel is poorly signposted from the car park and we ended up carrying our luggage through the shopping centre because of it. On checking out we had to use two lids because there is no direct lift to the lower car park.

The location was convenient to walking to shops and sites. The room was a decent size and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant charged to our room so we didn’t have to worry about taking cash or card to them. The parking lot doors shut after a certain time, providing more security.

The parking lot was a tad confusing, trying to figure out the voucher and getting in after the main parking doors shut. It didn’t look like there was a definite distinction to keep non hotel guests from parking in the hotel section - lot is shared by the shopping mall.

All the staff were very friendly always said hello to us passing by or when in the reception area. The staff members who i checked in and out with both were very friendly and helpful too. The breakfast staff in the restaurant were very helpful with information about what they food they had to offer and checked up on us during our breakfast too to ensure everything was ok. Altogether it was a lovely hotel and enjoyed our stay here and could be a return in the future if ever planning a trip back to Athlone.

Car Park being in the shopping centre made things a little difficult to find the hotel not a major issue however.

Had two rooms reserved and were in separate buildings, VERY far from each other. This would be a major problem if our kids were any younger Hotel is attached to a shopping mall and parking in the ramp and getting into hotel with luggage and wheelchair was difficult. Yes wheelchair accessible, but navigation was challenging Restaurant was expensive and dining options outside hotel were few (mall entirely closed by 6 or 7pm) Our king room windows sheers were tattered and torn, not a problem but very off putting for high end hotel
