I loved that there is a squash court on the premises, there are a lot of sitting areas outside and inside the hotel, making it easier not to be confined only to the room, the grounds were beautiful and i enjoyed the liveliness of the hotel. I lovwd the infusion of local foods in the dininv room, the staff were ever so gentle and kind, and friendly and they all greeted you no matter how many times thry saw you, all of them from the managers to the cleaning crew, i likked the big pool, the location is quite central, i also like the late check out-most hotels check you out early and then you are stuck because your programme only starts later in the day

Curtains in the showers. I think they can invest in glass screens they are more hygienic and ensure less seepage of water to reduce slip accidents in the shower area

Beautiful and centrally located property with an old-world charm. The rooms are pretty spacious and the food is impeccable. Taj hospitality is truly unparalleled. The staff went out of their way to make my stay extremely comfortable. Special thanks to Noah, Alice and Mwape for their kindness and warmth. I will surely stay here for all future visits to Lusaka.

Perhaps the only issue would be the erratic internet, however, the staff was kind enough to provide me with a router. The beds do not have charging points on either side, but you can request housekeeping for an extension chord.

The food in this hotel is exceptional, some of the best in the city. The staff are amazing - top class. It's the staff that make this hotel special. The cleaning staff on our floor were top notch.

The bed was very uncomfortable - the mattress was old and sunk in the middle making it difficult for a couple to sleep. Also, the rooms need updating. The carpet was a little damp (it seemed), we didn't always have hot water, and wifi in our room was bad. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay sure to staff ands restaurant.

The breakfast is still extraordinary, various dishes to choose from, even Indian cuisine. The dosas are exceptionally tasty and truly something to enjoy. Our room had bottled water in the bathroom during Cholera times, thank you for that.

The mattress has reached the end of its life in a hotel room. This was the 2nd time that we had a bed with a mattress that was not firm anymore. Either it has to be turned or better still replaced.

I really liked the facility itself, so spacious. But also I liked the staff, they are well trained and they provide friendly and good customer care. Morning breakfast was good, they had fairly enough options for fellas from different cultural backgrounds. The gym is well equipped and the pool is also long and deep enough for casual swimming.

The wi-fi was not stable, it broke most of the time. If you have some sensitive online meetings, you should consider other means of getting connected. Price for drinks at the hotel bar is quite expensive, like double or sometimes triple the normal price. Plus you will have to pay “tourism levy” and “service charge” for every single drink you buy. Accommodation price is reasonably fair. But I paid double tourism levy/fee for every single day I spent there. I am not sure if this was correct or something was wrong with the hotel systems.

The Indian breakfast options were excellent! We loved having a bath and a shower in the bathroom. The cable TV channels were a bit disappointing though, the movie and sitcom options were a bit too limited. We appreciated the room service and having fresh milk with our filter coffee, and the lovely biscuits that accompanied our 1st cup of coffee. The parking was secure and we were put at ease right from the start. The warm cup of ginger tea upon our arrival was just the best - we were very tired after traveling from Mkushi to Lusaka. Our dinner was delightful - sooo many dishes, catering for a diversity of guests.

Mattress on our bed was finished and TV Channels were not offering enough movies and documentaries.

Taj is home away from home

New staff is not trained well. Taj is known for its hospitality. Since the change of management, things are not the same Most of the staff doesn't know the Importance of Taj hospitality. Staff makes or breaks a hotel. It's all very corporate now, too many parties, functions and corporate events. Even the walkways are full of functions.

We love the spacious rooms and view onto the city. All the staff were very friendly. We enjoy walking in the lovely garden. The breakfast is excellent, especially the Dosa and fresh fruits and steamed vegetables. This hotel is highly recommended for vegans and vegetarians.

We had a room on the side of the kitchen extractor (uneven numbers) and could not open our door onto the balcony as the noise of the extractor then spoiled the ambience.

Awesome! Stayed after a long time due to COVID-19 but it is the same Taj. Excellent location, excellent staff, exceptional hygiene and tasty food.

I had to struggle with the toiletries. Having the earlier experience I did not bring some but those were missing from the room. Hair comb was very thin and it was painfully scratching my head during combing. The shampoo, body wash and lotion is not herbal like before. The forest essential products were exceptional.

I stayed at the Taj for about 3 weeks and didn’t want to leave - the staff were wonderful (special shout outs to Jonathan, Paul, Patrick, Frank, Happy, Kennedy, the chefs and maids) and the general manager, Frederic, was very accommodating. The poolside is well maintained, the property’s cats are sweet and the Indian food at the restaurant is quite tasty. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Lusaka! There are a few malls around which are each easy to get to as well.
