Mossimo was so great. He met us in the parking lot when we let him know of our arrival time. He helped us park our car where it was safe and right outside the place we stayed. He drove us to the Valley of the Temples and told us what bus to take back. The breakfast was full of great things to eat and coffee. He was there to answer any questions and his son who also lives there speaks English and he understands it or translates it too. The location is great and it very near many restaurants and shops and we had a great time walking all around to those. We met a great chef at a local Italian restaurant. It is a local property so it is not deluxe but we liked it very much. It is close to a beautiful view of the sea.

The parking and driving there is hard as it is very crowded as it is a tourist destination close to Valley of the Temples. We were in a rental car but Mossimo helped us to park so that was good.

The B and B hides behind an old wooden door over which a pomegranate tree hangs. The courtyard is welcoming with lemon trees, and our room was cheerful in blues and whites. We had a refrigerator with small freezer, good shower and comfortable queen sized bed, and the ac worked well. We really enjoyed chatting in English with the host’s teenaged son, enjoyed the community feeling in the breakfast room even though we spoke no Italian, and our host was cheerful and welcoming. The neighborhood is charming and we could easily walk to the town center!

Parking is a bit tricky because the property is on a street that’s pedestrian-only as it has steps, and the roads nearby are quite narrow and steep - but we managed to park for free close by.

Our host was very kind and helpful. He came to the agreed place with a scooter and helped us park. The room was nice and clean, the eponymous pomegranate tree welcomed us at the entrance, the whole little garden was very cozy. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. I especially liked that there was ham and cheese, not just sweets. (The sweet baked goods were also delicious.) We had a very tasty dinner in the restaurant recommended by our host, the view from the terrace was amazing.

That we only spent one night there :)

Agrigento is beautiful & this bnb is in the lovely old historical area, a short walk to the gorgeous Teatro Pirandello, the Cattedrale, cafes & shops, so a great location & quiet, too. Massimo is the perfect host who genuinely cares about his guests & goes above & beyond to help them e.g. he came to collect us from the railway station when we arrived & also drove us to the bus station & ensured we caught the right bus when we departed. He also rang us later to follow-up to see that we'd found an iPad we thought we'd lost. Breakfasts are generous - juices, lots of Italian croissants & sweet treats (ricotta & Nutella cornetti), pastries, savouries (pizza), salumi, cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, tea & coffee. The bnb room was spotless, spacious & comfortable & the garden lovely with it's century+ old pomegranate tree.

Nothing - it was excellent!

Although this property is not, as stated, on Piazza Giuseppe Sinatra, Massimo will meet you here, help with your luggage and take you to his lovely B&B in an old and smart part of Agrigento, just behind the town hall. (It is quite hard to find) In minutes you can walk back to the Piazza and enjoy a drink in the wine bar opposite the town hall (finish with coffee across the road in the cafe) Don’t forget to buy a sweet Sicilian treat from the Panificio which stays open until late. The property is very clean, spacious and well appointed. It is not luxury but it is much better than basic and at a low price. The lovely garden is a rare find and you will be wowed at breakfast. Massimo cannot do enough to help you (he insisted on filling a bag with extra breakfast items for our onward journey on departure morning, for example) All of this just 8 minutes drive from The Valley of the Temples - a site which really deserves its world heritage status. Can highly recommend Massimo and his unique B&B.

A kettle would have been nice

The location is great - in the old town, a couple of minutes walk from the main streat, Via Atenea. It's not a luxury place but it had all the amenities we needed. Because of our schedule we stayed for one night only, however it was enough to appreciate out host, Massimo. He met us at the nearby square and simply walked with us to show us where to park - parking in historic Sicilian towns can be a daunting experience so it was really of a great help. In the morning, Massimo was serving us all kinds of food and making espresso and capucino. It was a real pleasure to get to know our hosts.

Massimo hospitality is top notch, came with the scooter to pick me up in the main square which is less than 200m away from the B&B. The position couldn't be more central, everything is at walking distance with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from (try the nearby Cortesi bar for great cocktails). Breakfast is great, with everything fresh either homemade by Massimo or from the local pastry. Absolutely recommended if you are in Agrigento!

Nothing I can think of

Mossimo was a great host! He met us in the town on his motorcycle and drove us up to find parking at his B&B. He really goes out of his way to please his guests. Breakfast were simple... croissants and fruit. He speaks limited English but we used Google Translate when we need to. We were with 2 other couples and loved the town of Agrigento and all the sites.

We were hoping there would be a patio for the 6 of us to sit out and visit. In the pictures he shows one, but it was not completely set up due to cooler weather. Finding parking near the B&B was a challenge and very narrow streets!

Massimo was such a fun and welcoming host. He insisted on helping with our luggage and even drove us and picked us up from the valley of the temples. Breakfast was beyond believable everyday. The outside area is nice to relax and has shade. Bathroom was nice, AC included and very clean. Close to everything! Would absolutely recommend.

Beds and pillows were just okay on comfort. Not part of the place but just a note of the area, Driving in Agrigento and parking can be a bit hairy at first. But then no problema!

We loved our stay at Il Melograno Antico! The host Massimo went above and beyond our expectations! His hospitality, generosity and kindness made us feel so welcome! The place is perfectly located, very close to Via Atenea and main attractions, it is very clean with all amenities, and the breakfast is delicious - I cannot recommend this B&B enough!
