Loved the room, at front of hotel with views across the bay from the balcony and good range of places relax in both inside and outside areas Breakfast was excellent. Staff helpful Very attractive old town with lots of options for bars and restaurants, shops etc, plus a variety of boat trips (we did the grotto - brilliant!)

Nice location on front, only c. 10 minutes easy walk into lovely old town, but more than double that to the nearest proper beach area which is the other side of the town to the hotel. Free street parking but v busy near hotel, though no problem to park on the road along the front heading away from the town - 4 or 5 minutes walk back in ur case.

This is one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. The location was very good: on the sea-front, close to the bus station where the airport bus stops, within walking distance from the old city, other tourist points and one of the beaches, and with a grocery store nearby. We arrived a bit earlier in Alghero and we were lucky to be able to check-in. The room was sparkling clean and it had everything. Not only it was so well-equipped and practical, but it was nicely designed, with cute blue tiles in the bathroom matching other details in the room. We didn't know that breakfast was included, because it wasn't specified when we booked, so this was the most beautiful surprise. The staff was really nice and they helped us with calling a taxi when needed.

Perfect as it is. Perhaps just try to advertise the breakfast that's included a bit more, as it is a pity if other guests don't get the chance to enjoy good Italian food in the morning.

The hotel is a solid, clean, well designed place. It's a great base for Alghero with good people running it and working there. The breakfast experience was always good, and the staff were always helpful and friendly while working hard to be professional, aware and attentive, a good combination. The room was clean, as advertised, with lots of storage. The little sea-facing balcony was great for sitting out and watching the world go by.

Through no fault of the hotel there was a little late night reveller noise from the streets on Saturday night.

Everything was perfect. Hotel is in a great location. On the lungo mare. The staff were so nice and the waiters made a fuss of me. I had dinner bed and breakast and the food was very good, Mediterranean syle dinner and lots of fruit and delicious croissants for breakfast, even bacon eggs and sausage if you prefer. I had a large sun terrace attached to my room with magnificent sea view and the small beach was just across the road. Also the hotel is near to the centre of Alghero and old town. The staff arranged for a taxi to the airport for me and it was quite reasonable. Will definitely book again.

Nothing. My room was a single room as was quite small but this didnt bother me as I was only there for 3 days.

We had a rocky start our flight was delayed arriving to the island at 1.30am not a taxi around rang hotel and Elena couldn't do enough for us we arrived to be met by a smile of the night porter again who couldn't do enough for us .this set the bar for an amazing stay Breakfast was plentiful and fresh again the staff were warm and welcoming El Balear you should be proud of your team who are a credit to Italian hospitality Our room was clean and comfortable with a view of the garden so peaceful Keep up the good work

Location across from the waterfront was perfect, the view from the balcony was lovely and we had sun on the balcony in the afternoons. The staff were lovely and most helpful with directions etc. There was a lovely terrace at the front whereby we enjoyed coffee and wine at different times of the day. Drink prices were very reasonable.

No lift to room, as my mother who accompanied me used a stick, the lack of a lift was inconvenient, however staff lifted our cases to and from our room. Lack of fresh fruit at breakfast, it was tinned fruit cocktail, however coffee, croissants,bread rolls etc were plentiful and tasty.

It's a 3 star hotel but for me it was like 4 🌟. I expected to be good because of all the good reviews , however it exceeded my expectations. Everything was perfect. Staff very professional , kind ,nice and helpful . All of them .🥰 Great breakfast. Very , very clean room with all the utilities , and amazing view from the balcony. Location perfect , very close to the old town , and you can only enjoy the walking 🥰 Fully recommend!!! Best in town! When I will return to Alghero I will definitely come back to El Balear.💗💗💗 Thank you all for all your efforts!!!

I was so happy with my room. It had everything I needed in all the right places. My single room was well designed with thought for the customer in mind. My room and the rest of the hotel was so clean. Staff in all areas of the hotel, reception, housekeeping and breakfast room were all so friendly, helpful and welcoming that someone is really good at recruiting the right people or they receive great training! Or both

There was nothing i didn't like. As a suggestion for here ( dinners) and everywhere in Alghero...there could be more vegetarian options

Regrettably we only had a one night stay Hotel El Balear as our flight arrived late close to midnight, and the staff was more than accommodating for our late arrival and upgraded us to a room with a sea for view and terrace, insisted on carrying our luggage up the stairs, as well stored our luggage in the morning as we visited the pretty town of Alghero. I noted the man at the fort desk was able to speak several languages, switching back and forth between them effortlessly. This is a sweet hotel located on a quiet street bordering the sea and is across the street from is a cool bar/cafe and a swimming cove frequented by locals for their morning swim as a well as small beach club with a couple of sun beds and umbrellas almost submersed in the beautiful blue sea. Something about the hotel gives of vibes of Italian cinema of the 1950's/1960s- even though our rooms was obviously tastefully and recently renovated. Breakfast service, (tables with white table cloths), offered a spread of anything you might want with friendly wait staff working the floor (also bordering of formal service ) We liked that the hotel located benefitted from the quieter less touristy area ( situated in a residential area)and was minutes walk from Centro storico which is denser with tourist shops, more restaurants and bars. We recommend a stay here!, and would return.

Dinner was weird, Prawns with pasta was like pureed with I guess shrimp in it ? I was expecting a prawn, silly me. Steak in a red wine sauce wasn't steak it was a very overcooked roast beef that was very dry but still somehow better than the shrimp pasta. Breakfast was weird too, salad and cold cuts, baked beans and cooked canned peas. The one thing that semi appealed to my American taste were the scrambled eggs which even though I was quite early to breakfast these were stone cold. I guess they just cater to the British and Germans etc .. but that was everywhere in Sardinia
