We liked the architecture, the location - on the top of the hill - the magnificent view, the calmness combining the countryside qualities with the luxury (library, huge common spaces, terrace, restaurant). We reserved the fresco room - just amazing - very big and very well furnished. We had frescoes even in the huge bathroom!!! Amazing - we highly appreciate. Very good breakfast buffet, served in the ancient kitchen and the terrace with an amazing view on the Tuscany land. Excellent value for the money. Nearby - must taste - the excellent ice-cream made by an ancient bike champion: the gelateria is called "Ultimo kilometro" - just fantastic. There is a queue of local customers and tourists like us, even on Sunday evening!!! The sportsmen is definitely a champion even in Gelato! To visit nearby - Montecatini terme, Lucca and Pistoia - very interesting trips for half a day. I can only recommend!

For us was OK but what should be known is: 1.as the villa is a renaissance villa you have to use stairs in the building and in the garden, BUT this is the charm of it. - Inside there is No place for an elevator to be installed. The personnel help to carry your luggage with a smile on their faces! 2. as the Borgo where the villa is located is a place without cars, you must live yours outside the village (free parking) and they come and pick you up and your luggage with an electrical small car. The advantage of this situation is that there is a perfect calm there - zero traffic noise! :-) 3. a car is mandatory to be able to get to the Villa Sermoli

What an unexpectedly good surprise. We really didn't expect that. We were very pleasantly surprised by everything. First of all, of course, the location of the villa is unreal. A wide horizon is visible. It is also very nice to walk around the town and just sit on one of the benches with an unreal view. I'm not talking about villa terraces and breakfast areas with unreal views. They were amazing. You could spend there hours... And the service staff is extremely cool and nice. They helped with everything in nice tone and were happy to assist you anytime. We regretted spending only one night there. We wanted to spend there at least five days!

Although the rooms are ancient and well maintained, they feel a bit ancient. But that's what makes it charming. The rooms on the upper floors have two small windows each, unfortunately they are really small and do not allow you to enjoy the views. Therefore, you have to go outside to admire the views. For those sensitive to sounds, the bells from the belfry could be heard every hour throughout the night on the upper floors. The large pool could be a little more maintained, it feels a bit shabby, but it's still fun to lie on a sunbed among the olive trees and admire the mountain views.

I stayed al Villa Sermolli for 3 nights in june. I will start with the staff: rhey are very communicative, we announced that we will arrive earlier and they made the room ready for us. The villa is located in the ZTL of Buggiano Castello so they will help you with luggage to the entrance to the hotel (the parking lot is close, but being the fact that we are talking about a medieval town on a hill, the roat is quite slopey). As i said before the villa is located in the castello of a medieval town, the views from the windows and the terrace of the villa are simply amazing. The room i had was a deluxe double room, which was very nice and large with 19th century wall painting, a large bathroom which was renovated, large windows with a breathtaking view. The facilities include a pool which is located outside “town walls” with sunbeds and umbrellas, we actually stayed one whole day at the pool and enjoyed the sun and the cool water of the pool. They also have a restaurant, which is pretty nice, with ok-ish prices, and every night it seemed full of patrons. We actually ate there everynight and food and wine were both very good. Service was also pretty good and attentive. they also have homemade products for sale, like limoncello, olive oil, wine ehich you can buy. The property can be a nice base to visit Pisa, wineries in Tuscany, or even cinque terre (1 hour by car to La Spezia and then by train to the villages), or even the towns around Buggiano Castello like Borgo al Buggiano and Montecatini terme. There seemed to be a large number of german tourists, and i saw that the personnel spoke German, so if you are a german speaker, you might feel right at home.

I would’t say that were things i did not like. Of course, some details might’ve been more refined, but for the price you cannot expect perfection. They also were in the course of renovation of the interior garden or something and there was some noise, but nothing too important.

We stayed in the Split-Level 2 bed apartment. The hotel is in an idyllic setting & is absolutely beautiful. The apartment was very spacious and the decor was so unique & interesting. The view from the apartment terrace was amazing. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection. Would love to come back again in the summer to be able to use the outdoor areas more. We rented a car & I think it was necessary given the location. Had no problems finding the Hotel & staff were helpful before arrival in communicating about parking.

Fantastic hotel set up the hill among the olive groves with spectacular views. Loved the character of the property and the roof terrace was beautiful. Great to have choice of pools and the gardens were lovely - adding to the overall tranquil feel of the place. Staff were friendly and helpful, the transfer from the station was much appreciated. Great selection of breakfast options and dinner on the terrace was perfect.

Nothing to dislike!

It"s a beautiful villa immersed in a greenery located in a small and charming village. The villa has two swimming pools and the one in its garden is really rewarding. The breakfast was served on one beautiful terrace and the dinner on the other, making the stay truly memorable.

The fake grass covering surrounding the bigger swimming pool is truly disappointing and frankly it's difficult to understand why it's even there....

Everything was absolutely breathtaking. The staff was amazing and so understanding and helpful when it came to my partners gluten allergy. The food and the beautiful view filled our stomachs and stole our hearts. We fell in love with the place and hope to come back as soon as possible!

This is an amazing place to stay. We were in the annexe which is just a short walk up a cobbled street to the main building. The views are stunning and after a long drive the pleasantly warm swimming pool was a welcome sight, set in some beautiful gardens with loungers and parasols. We had a meal in the restaurant, again delicious, sat out on the terrace where there is also a bar. Breakfast is served, weather permitting, outside on another terrace called the pergola terrace. The building has such a wealth of character and is absolutely stunning. The room had every facility you could wish for, super comfy bed, lovey linen, fridge with complimentary water, stunning views, you couldn’t ask for more, our only regret was that we were only staying the one night. With its location and facilities this is easily place you could relax for a few days. Oh and if that isn’t enough they make their own limoncello!

Nothing at all not to like, a little problem finding the location but that was more our fault than the hotels and the staff couldn’t have been more patient or helpful. Because you can’t park directly at the hotel, they have their own parking spaces, you park up and they collect you and your luggage in a little golfing buggy and take you directly to the hotel. However, this would not deter from staying again, when staying in these hilltop villages in Tuscany this is quite common.

We charge each place on what kind of emotions they bring up; I would give 10 points out of 10 to Villa Sermolli from this perspective, because the vibe and especially attentive service from Elena and Diego made me feel very happy; Also dinner was not only absolutely delicious but views from the terrace were breathtaking and service super professional - something that many other restaurant personnel should watch and learn.

Bergola of the terrace of the suite I stayed was too overgrown of plants that made it too dark and hided a beautiful view also (my opinion only); outside furniture cushions didn't invite to sit on them because they were damp, dirty and smelly.

What can I say, one of the most memorable stays I had in my entire life. The hotel is gorgeous, clean and comfortable, has the best views in the area and the staff was absolutely wonderful. We also had diner at the hotel restaurant which was SUPER. Breakfast was in the highest standards and our overall experience was one we would like to repeat as we plan to revisit Villa Sermolli once again.

There was nothing we did not like.
