The location was serene and absolutely dreamy. It was just what we were looking for when we booked this stay, and Villa Petriolo did not disappoint. The farm was large with animals, crops, as well as vineyards that we could walk around and look at. The staff was incredible and so accommodating, the rooms were clean, and comfortable. The pool was gorgeous, and we loved the experiences that they gave as options during the stay. We also loved the sustainability concept - the food was so fresh & delicious being produced by the Villa itself or neighboring farms when needed.

There were few things we would have changed from our stay, the one thing that we felt could have been better was a quieter room. The door that lead to the stairs that went up to the rooms was constantly being used by staff and it was very loud early in the morning.

As a couple traveling to get some quiet time, and to completely relax, there was a bit too many children splashing and playing around the pool. This unfortunately prevented us from staying nearby the infinity pool, if we wanted to have some quiet time. The Osteria did not have a very big menu compared to people being forced to eat there (or at SP) every evening. SP was a bit pricy compared to what you get, and you would expect to sit in a more exclusive area when paying that price (155 euro for the tasting menu), as it is the pool bar area that is turned into the dining area. Also there was no pre-made paired wine menu, which we also had excepted.

Amazing staff who are clearly proud of the estate. Dizzyingly beautiful location with views to die for. Comfortable room with high ceilings, a large bed and a spacious bathroom. Everything looks like it belongs in a Tuscan villa, but is modern and just works. The air conditioning is perfect, as is the soundproofing. For us, the perfect blend of fancy and approachable. Everything looks and feels appropriate for the concept of a Tuscan villa and surrounding vineyards, but done with a modern touch, attention to detail, and an eye for sustainability. This ranges from water recycling systems and solar panels on the parking shelters to wooden barrels that are actually outdoor speakers. It's pretty clear Villa Petriolo takes sustainability very seriously, but in a way that's not "less" but instead "better". For example, you can purchase opened in-room toiletries with a half-off discount and take them with you. Good food and wines, produced locally.

The Michelin restaurant, PS Ristorante, was a letdown, with flat and one-dimensional tastes. Some guests were "reserving" sunbeds despite the rule prohibiting it. One large family was treating the pool area as their private backyard. Draws in some guests who are only there for their Instagram selfies.

The perfect place to relax. Great staff, outstanding views, good Italian food and wine, it can't get much better. Leaning on the edge of the infinity pool, overlooking the Tuscan countryside, your worries disappear. Walking along the unkempt paths in the morning sets you up for a great breakfast and that is what is provided. My comparitor is Rocco Forte hotels (which I think are excellent) and Villa Petriolo is on a par with them. Both organisations have staff who clearly love working in them and it comes through in how they treat their clients. We will certainly return.

The meal in the RS restaurant was good but somehow I expected more, perhaps of an overtly Italian flavour/nature. The young lady who delivered our food was hugely knowledgeable about the dishes and is to be commended. In truth it is difficult to be too critical as we enjoyed our stay immensely.

We stayed at villa Petriolo for a prolonged weekend and we couldn’t have dreamed of more authentic and beautiful Tuscany experience! The villa is located in a scenic spot, the service of absolutely exceptional, the staff friendly and professional. They offer exclusively food produced by the structure or in extreme proximity and a Green Michelin star restaurant PS is located in Villa Petriolo. We checked it out as well and it just kept on getting better and better… I couldn’t recommend more this place!

Honestly this hotel exceeded our expectations... It's truly a special place, beautiful domain, all food farm to table and emphasis on sustainability. The views are amazing and the staff super welcoming and friendly — especially Niccolò from the pool bar!

The only disadvantage is that both Pisa, Lucca and Florence are anywhere between 45 and 60 mins drive away! Also, the Osteria's menu in the evening could emphasize traditional Tuscan cuisine a little more.

The property and the grounds are exceptionally beautiful. Very well appointed rooms and common areas. Clean, quiet and very comfortable. The staff was also very nice and helpful when needed. The picturesque setting is conducive to relaxation or the villa offers various outdoor activities. Sipping a Aperol Spritz in the pool or eating at one of the 2 great restaurants is as good as it gets. Also the little tavern with incredible sunset views.

They wouldn’t let me move in permanently. :)

A very new, but already very famous place to go. The surroundings inside and outside were absolutely amazing! Especially our room, which was just beautiful. Infinity pool was heated with beautiful view of the Tuscan hills. Fresh fruit were served on sticks at the pool several times of the day, which was quite nice. We only tried the restaurant “Golpaja”, which was great and worth a try. I will recommend trying the wine tasting with a small tour of the property, it was just perfect (thanks, Francesca!). And small, but nice detail; it was possible to park in the shadow. And for the gym-lovers; the best hotel-gym we have ever seen!

Some days the pool area was quite filled. People are reserving sun beds early in the morning, why it can be a challenge to have a spot at the pool. The service of the staff could be a bit better. A bit slow service, I would say. And way to expensive….

The facilities at the accommodation were fantastic! beautiful outdoor areas, areas specifically to watch the sun set, beautiful farms to walk around. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The restaurants served high quality food and drinks in a comfortable, cosy environment.

Not a fault of the accommodation, but a suggestion for people considering a stay here. Hire a car to get around. We unfortunately did not and getting around was a bit hard. Taxis weren't always available and can easily get quite expensive. In saying this, the staff were very helpful in organising taxi services.

The location and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. The villa sets on top a very Tuscan style hill, with Cyprus trees lining the road to the Villa. You get both sunrise and sunset over the valley with an exceptional view across the valley in all directions. The hotel is beautiful and elegantly decorated without feeling stuff. It is comfortable and homely and very luxurious. Our bedroom was so comfortable and spacious and the shower was amazing. We had a really delicious dinner at the Cucina and the breakfast buffet was so good. I have nothing bad to say. I will come back time and time again.
